Any good guess on what I'm diagnosed with?

Question 1
Any good guess on what I'm diagnosed with?...  Week1: I have sore throat feeling in the back of my throat,
Week2: I have chest pain all over my lungs occasionally, and by the end of the week I hear something crack or pop inside my lung/airway. Went to the doctor, said it was infection, took azithromycin 500mg for 3 days. Doc said I have blood pressure of 140/100 which is high and I cut down my sodium intake.
Week3: I saw blood in spit in the morning, on occasions, not every day, and no more blood in spit through out the day, and sore throat still persists, have difficulty breathing at times, crackles heard more often when I'm lying down on bed.

Week4: Doc prescribed me avelox, it's been 3 days now and my symptoms are still there.

Any good guess on what I'm diagnosed with?

2)   It happened to me, I had tonsillitis, which spreaded into a chest infection. You should just go to the doctors, we are all just random un-qualified people. :) <3 - Kerryn Nicoley

4)   Strept throat (streptococcus)! Antibiotics take time to work their miracles. We used to give penicillian, which worked faster. - Pinyon

5)   A respiratory disease - Bliss

6)   Sounds like a respiratory infection. However, see if your doctor can do a swab and check it. You didn't list a fever, or difficulty breathing, or any other symptom, so it may just be a bad chest cold. If you don't trust your doctor, seek another one for a second opinion - whhaaaazupp

Question 1
What if I bled from my butt?...  What does it mean?
Its the first time this has happened to me and my period went away a couple of days ago.
Starting yesterday, whenever I used the bathroom, it would hurt but it didn't bleed.
I did not have sex or anything like that.
What does it mean and what should I do?

possibly and internal or external hemorrhoid. happens to a lot of people (not sure about your age group though)

if it happens again, or is bleeding heavy or bright red, let your parents know. it could be a bleed further up in your GI tract - afmedic12

3)   Take a deep breath. It could be something as simple as hemorrhoids but the only way you are going to find out is to tell your parents and go to the doctor. Just go tell them. Knowing is much better than not knowing and being scared of what it might be. - pjh139psu

6)   Best thing to do it just tell your parents and go to the doctor. - Shawn H

7)   Hello Laura,

If you had pain during a bowel movement, you may have been constipated. Constipation causes bowel movements of larger size and firmer density. This may have led to irregular stress to the tissue, and caused you to bleed, and not necessarily when you use the restroom. It is a common occurrence, and may be treated with a mild laxative, or an eight ounce glass of water with two tsp of Epsom salt mixed in. Read instructions carefully. While this condition is common, it should not be a prolonged experience. If you experience this for an extended amount of time, please consult a physician. Many things may cause constipation. Foods such as cheese, and fatty meats, or even soda and alcohol. Try to add more fiber to your diet and drink plenty of hydrating fluids. Drugs can also cause constipation. Most commonly opiates. These are prescription painkillers, or elicit drugs such as heroin. However if at any time in the past few days, you feel you may have been slipped a drug, blacked out, or have memory loss, see a doctor immediately. - Jeigh Neither

8)   It probably isn't anything serious and will probably resolve on it's own. I would tell your parents/doctor, you shouldn't be embarrased. - stat18

additional info:
also im 16 year old male weigh 9st. i dont drink, smoke, or take drugs and there is no family history of heart disease. i eat moderatly healthy but could do more

1)   The only way to find out is to go to the doctor. They will likely do an EKG which takes about 30 seconds. - Rick B

2)   You could have a chest infection due to the cold weather. But check a doctor first. - Kelsey Parker

3)   No, it sounds like something more ike indigestion. I would try some baking soda mixed with a little water as an inexpensive gas reliever. It could also be musculoskeletal and stretching and heat to the area may help. If this persists, please see a health care professional. - Barb M

4)   more like indigestion. - Polly

5)   More than likely not.

I have had a few people in my family have heart attacks and most of them did not feel chest pain or an elephant sitting on their chest. Most felt this:

Nausea
uncontrollable sweating
flu like symptoms
back pain

If you are only having discomfort on your left side, rib area, probably left nipple just under the arm pit it is more than likely a pull muscle in the chest which is more common than you think. It doesn't take much to hurt those muscles and it takes days maybe even weeks to fully heal since we use them way more than you think in our daily routine.

If it would make you feel better go see your pcp. - Dave

6)   It sounds nothing like a heart problem all of the things you said there indigestion, heartburn and wind is no doubt what you have got so don't worry . But if your still getting it then go to the doctors just so he can check it out and give you something for it but i wouldent worry it sounds nothing serious. - luke95

7)   Sounds like acid reflux.
Does it come on later in the day? Spicy foods can bring it on.
You might want to try taking a daily prilosec or zantac, you can get them in the drug store and they're pretty cheap. They're in the antacid section.
If it doesn't help then see your doctor. There's tests they can do to check your heart and your stomach for acid. - Bill

Answers
1)   Clear it with your doctor if you have asthma and if you do ask how severe it is. Then you should tell the company you have asthma and how severe it is and if it is minor they should probably take you in. Its better to tell them now instead of telling them later, them finding out, and firing you when you have a steady income. - Pili Hookano

2)   you are exactly like me! maybe just talk to your doctor and see if you are at any risk at all, and maybe just explain that you don't but just get short of breath at times (if you ever do) to the airforce. good luck. (: - Ali Lanser

3)   You can still be an aircraft mechanic if you have asthma! Don't ever try to say you don't have asthma but you do! Football, baseball, basketball, and soccer players have asthma! They make millions! Don't ever think you can't do a job if you have asthma! Just tell them you have asthma! Good Luck! - Autunno

4)   Lying about your medical condition can get you thrown out of the military, fined, or even imprisoned. Don't do it.

Instead, FIRST comb your medical records to see if any symptoms of asthma occurred after your 13th birthday. If no, it is unlikely to exclude you from joining even if you were reliably diagnosed before 13. SECOND, have your doctor run PFTs before and after exercise, and without and with albuterol, to see if your lungs -currently- have any signs of asthma.

If you presently have no signs of asthma, and your records don't show any symptoms after your 13th birthday, then you will not even need to apply for a medical waiver and can join as usual.

If you presently have signs of asthma on testing, get them right the heck under control with medication, and then apply to join with a medical waiver. Likewise, if you had symptoms after your 13th birthday but no longer do, take documentation from your doctor showing that your lungs are normal now to your recruiter, and apply for a waiver.

Lying is NOT how to start your military career. You WILL likely be caught, and that will ruin your career faster than you can possibly imagine. - Z

5)   I think you need to set your priorities straight, if you want to be an airforce mechanic to help your country don't lie. Nobody likes a liar. Go to your doctor and talk to him about it, they can clear you on some things, I don't know how old you are so I can't really answer your question. - stat18

Question 4
What are the chances my Aunt will survive in hospital?...  She is 64, currently in intensive care on a breathing machine, we don't know what is wrong with her. She has had a very bad cough for months but the doctor just kept giving her more medication, she had a bad back and became unable to hold her drink on Christmas Day because her hand was shaking and it just dropped on the floor. We called an ambulance because this is not her usual self at all and when she got there they sent her straight to intensive care.

They are running blood tests, she can't breath without the machine and she is heavily sedated but stable, we have also been informed she may have swine flu.

I really want her to be okay, I can't go to the hospital to see her because it's too much for me. I feel sick and nervous thinking about it. If she dies, the family won't be the same.
Does this sound like she will have a chance, nobody will tell me much since I am 17.
She has also NEVER been frail, she was always very active loud and funny, abit on the large side which caused the back problems but other than that....

2)   Well, since we don't know what she has, we can't give you any kind of prediction. It sounds like she might have had a stroke. If she is not breathing at all without the machine, then it is possible she may have suffered extensive damage to her brainstem.

without knowing more, I would have to say it does not sound very hopeful.

Swine flu is not a big deal. - Rick B

3)   I don't really know what is wrong with her... Does she smoke? It could be a smoking related disease?

Docots will tell you things when they know. I'm 14 and when my dad was in intensive care doctors told me stuff. But they are very careful about what they say because people often sue them in they say 'yeah they are going to live' and theydont. My dad died in intensive care and the doctors were very rude. You just need to keep bothering them.

After it happened, I went home to do some research and realized it would have been safer if We used protection and that I ran the risk of catching something. Does that mean that I don't have to worry about getting any STDs? Should I still get tested even if his previous partners were clean? My sister has precancer of the cervix, when she told me, I about died on the spot. May God almighty Himself give you the strength, and one thing that may help is to know, that God does not forget his children after death. he will call, and the dead shall answer, they shall live at his command, for he will have a longing for the works of his own hands, so have faith and do not wonder for our God can make us stand, and we shall live forever, as the works of his own hand. Rev 21:1-4"21 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the former heaven and the former earth had passed away, and the sea is no more. 2 I saw also the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God and prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his peoples. And God himself will be with them. 4 And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” - شاهد IJAH یهوه

4)   If it is in even a singular lymph node then that is metastatic.

This could be stage 2, 3 or 4 breast cancer.

Mine was stage 3, 6 years ago and I now have no sign of disease.

Stage 2 still has a 98% survival rate.

A week won't make a difference.

5)   I’m sorry I know all of this is new and scary to you, but we need specific information to answer you.
Her biopsy came back positive for what? What kind of cancer does she have?
Metastatic means it has spread, in this case to her lymph nodes as far as I can tell.
How old is she – age is always very relevant when asked a medical question.
You say the lump is ON her breast cancer occurs IN the breast.
You also say in is 1 inch in her breast, so I’m not sure what you are trying to say. Is it 1 inch deep or 1 inch in size?
Most women have breast cancer about 2 years before it is large enough to see on imaging. However, it is VERY unusual for a tumor not to be seen on mammography and six months later be so large she can feel it and it has spread to her lymph nodes.
This makes me wonder if it is actually breast cancer at all and not another type of cancer which happened to occur in her breast.
There is no way to answer you with this information. - Denisedds

3)   acne is an indication of a lack of iodine. Almost everybody is iodine deficient, due to modern diets. For immediate treatment, take a washcloth, put some baking soda on it and a few drops of iodine tincture. Very gently scrub your face with it. Too much pressure and you will give yourself a nice rash which will form a scab. The baking soda is to clean the pores and get rid of the acidity of your skin. Your skin has the highest concentration of iodine in the body beside the the reproductive system. Look for decolored iodine at the drug store. The normal iodine leaves the skin yellow until it is absorbed, which will look odd. After your lightly scrub your face and dry it, apply the iodine directly to any6 acne spots. And you might want to try taking a supplement like this one:

or look for kelp tablets at your local health store. - Robert G

How can I stop craving sugar?

Question 1
How can I stop craving sugar?...  I can't stop consuming food with a lot of sugar, I don't even eat regular meals. I always ask people what's the first thing they want to do in the morning, and the answers always different, yet each time I always expect them to say eat. I expect them to say eat, "The first thing I want to do in the morning is eat." and I associate that with breakfast, then associate that with something drenched in syrup, is that just the sugar tooth talking? I just need to stop it with the sweets, but I don't know how, or why, besides the health concern... Also how much sugar can one consume before becoming at risk for diabetese?

Answers
1)   Don't completely get rid of it just eat it in moderation - Ben Wunderlich

2)   In first place it's really harmful for your health ... Just think if you consume sugar so much you'll end up in a hospital ... You know this sugar consume in excess makes you be a diabetic...Think about you your family and your health when you consume so much sugar and I hope it'll make you eat regularly - Beautiful* . *Angel

3)   There's not a set amount, but binges of it are likely to eventually mess up your body's balance, so it no longer gets the blood sugar level right, and that's diabetes.

Sugar is EXACTLY like nicotine, heroin, caffeine, etc. You can get things clear in your head first, about how it's the thing that causes the panic and depressed feelings, but at the end of it all the only thing that's gonna banish 95% of those feelings is to quit.

For about 3 weeks - TimC

4)   if your craving sugar , consume food with healthy natural sugar. Like instead of a pancake with syrup , hw about a baked apple with cinnamon?
Or instead of an ice cream sunday , how about a bowl of fresh berries with a little splenda and almond milk?
Or a banana with a tbsp of honey? Or a sweet potato with a bit of brown sugar? - Bella

5)   A poor diet may be a RISK FACTOR in developing diabetes it is not a cause.
To deal with your sweet tooth try cutting out all added sugar and you will find that in time you taste changes and you do not enjoy sweet things so much. I Know that since cutting back on the amount of sugar I use since being diagnosed as diabetic I find lots of things to sweet now even if I used to enjoy them - crazyowl

fingertip skin coming off from guitar?

Question 1
fingertip skin coming off from guitar?...  gah..... its so annoying.... EVERYTIME i play guitar ( I play alot ) the skin from my fingertips peel off and get into my frets on my guitar.... it sucks because i have to clean the damn fretboard after every jam.... is there a way to harden my skin so it dont rip and get on my fretboard? or will i always be like that? ; I don't push down that hard on the frets either ; should i just loosen on my the fret pressure? or what?

Answers
1)   i think your fingertips will just get used to it after a while - Stephanie

2)   Played guitar myself for a while, and actually had the same problem. I would try to put a little less pressure on the frets and use some hand cream to help with the already dry skin, but the only thing that will really put an end to the problem are the callouses that build up with time. - Max Peterson

3)   Try using the rough side of a piece of velcro to exfoliate the dead skin from your fingertips. You might even attach a strip to a convenient place on your guitar for easy access. - Bco4th6th

4)   try putting lotion on ur fingers then icing them for amroxamitly 10 mins - iluvhim48

5)   Hey, you're playing lots, so keep on keepin' on. Do that and you're gonna get good.

Should wipe the thing down after every session anyway.

Try a can of "Finger Ease" guitar string lube, squirting the stings and neck before you start, or before the next set starts, if on stage. At home - or at work - avoid hot water or lotions on your fretting hand, as they will quickly soften the callouses you worked hard to develop.

There is a possibility that your guitar needs a little fret honing, if it's worth it. I've played a few where the frets were sharp enough to almost bite you. Try a few others to see if they are more comfortable - quick and slick - just to feel the difference. - Danny

And then today I went back so they can finalize the color and now when I feel my head I can feel that I have some scabs on some part of my head. When I peeled it off it looks like a super dark color (It's like scabs people get after they got wounded ). HIV and Crystal Meth Amphetamines.?...  If someone that was on Crystal Meth, say for 2 months, and had sexual contact with someone that is HIV positive roughly 10 months ago. What are the chances that they test poz? Heard stories that meth makes it 4-6 times more likely that they will test Positive, but not sure if that is true or not....Hit me up with some answers people. Please, only serious only. Thanks!
The person has been off meth for a month. is it still likely he/she test poz, even tho he/she tested neg last month

Answers
1)   serious answer, get off the meth - Gday

2)   What are the chances? Can't give you a number or statistic. But yes it does increase your chances of catching the virus, but only because it's been linked to more high-risk sexual behavior (government study linked below). Basically, amphetamines themselves don't increase your chances, it's what you do after you use them. They found that a large number of men who used amphetamines before sex ended up being careless because of it (not using condoms, rough sex, etc.). So that's why they say that.

And anybody can test positive a month after testing negative. It can often take 3-6 months before HIV shows up during testing. Somewhere around 99% of people would test positive after 3 months though. That's why if you get tested, you should always return at 3 months and then again at 6 months just to make sure.

If you think you might have contracted it, get tested. Google "free hiv testing" in your city and you'll find plenty of clinics, or you can go down to the health department. It only takes about 20 minutes to get tested. - Drexl

Why is cancer so funny?

Question 1
Why is cancer so funny?...  This is such an awkward for me. Every time someone mentions cancer, I can't help but notice how funny it is.

The most awkward thing related to this was when I was in a doctor waiting room and there was a TV playing a show about people with cancer. I held my laughter in for about five minutes before I couldn't help myself anymore, I think it was an interview with someone with a month to live that did me in and had me bursting into laughter. Jeez, all the people looking at me in the waiting room. I'm just worried if I ever see a person in real life with cancer, I won't be able to hold my laughter in. How awkward would that be?!

can this be testicular cancer?...  ok so iv recently started to notice the following things

1.my right testical is slighly larger than my left one and on the top of it has a area like a balloon full of water. it has absolutely no discomfort when i touch it and i dont feel anything under it. just really soft to touch.

2.i have this frequently reocurring pain and discomfort in the area under my bellybutton to my right side only though

what can this be someone please help ........btw. i am only 17 years old

Answers
1)   These symptoms are best diagnosed by your family doctor, not the internet. - itsjustme

2)   It's normal for one testicle to be larger than the other, and what you're describing as a "balloon full of water" SOUNDS like a hydrocele, which is benign. The abdominal pain sounds unrelated. That being said, testicular cancer affects people in your age group, and since I cannot examine you over the internet, I would highly recommend you see your family doctor or pediatrician for a brief exam. All they would likely do is look, and at most, order an ultrasound, though that may not even be necessary if they are not concerned. Good luck! - DocP

3)   It's probably just a testicular cyst. They are pretty common. This link has some information about them: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spermatocele

As a matter of fact, when my husband was around your age, he noticed the same thing. He went to the doctor and had it examined and they confirmed that it was just a cyst and left it alone. He is now 24 and its still there and has gotten slightly bigger and a bit uncomfortable, so he went back in and the doctor decided to go ahead and remove it, even though its still NOT cancerous. He's going to be getting it removed next month...its a quick, pretty simple operation.

I am not a doctor, so any "lump" you find really should get check out, just in case. But don't worry yourself sick...its most likely just a cyst and not cancer. Good luck :) - Rainy Owl

My mom has cancer and won't eat...?

Question 1
My mom has cancer and won't eat...?...  Well my mom has been diagnosed with cancer not to long ago, they say it has spreaded all over her body, and now she doesn't want to eat. We don't want to force feed her or anything, but it is very important that she eats, because they gave her Radiation, which they shouldn't have, because we didn't tell them to, and now she doesn't have any white blood cells, and eating certain foods helps gain white blood cells.. But she doesn't want to eat.. please help.. =(

-God is the answer to all of your problems-

Answers
1)   Look I don't do drugs and I don't smoke weed, I don't even drink. But I've heard that they perscribe medicinal marijuana just for this sort of thing because it makes it easier for cancer patients to eat. Ask your doctor about that, I really can't think of anything else to tell you because otherwise it's just up to her will power to force feed herself. Hope you figure something out. - Peaceful Paradox

2)   Try and get her to drink Ensure shakes or some other kind of meal replacement drink. Even if she's only doing it to please you. And vitimin pills will help too. If she's weak from it then Gastrolyte will keep her electrolytes up.

After the initial loss of apetite the stomach kind of shrinks so it's hard to get motivated back in to eating again. Hearty soups are sometimes a good starting point. - Jules Verne

3)   Do you live in a state where medical marijuana is legal?

If so, she can smoke it if she's comfortable with that, or you can bake it into brownies. Marijuana is supposed to both help with nausea (which could indirectly be making her not interested in eating) and and increase appetite. - Anon

4)   i work in dietary at a hospital and this is very common... :( a lot of times we can offer a milkshake and they will drink that. we use ensure hp to make it and they come in strawberry vanilla and choc. If you can get her to have a milkshake make it with a healthy high calorie high protein supplement. i havent drank ensure hp myself but a lot of patients seem to like it. Glucerna is also another supplement that would be good for her. hope this helps :( - Brittany

5)   my dad had cancer and passed away 3yrs ago he was in the same postion as your mom. My dad would drink protien shakes the ones in the bottle i forgot the namethey sell it at costco and walmart but he liked it for some reason and he would drink soup from the cup noodles and leave the the noodles out i hope this help and stay strong

-kristen :) - Libra89

6)   Your mother is the only one who can give permission for her treatment, including radiation therapy. This is her decision, not a family decision.
As for not eating, this may be a side effect of her treatment, caused by the location of her cancer or a result of depression about her cancer.

Try tempting her with easy to digest favorites in small portions, or try fruit smoothies made with real fruit (berries are great) and yogurt (or a soy alternative if she is dairy intolerant). - Tarkarri

Neck pain, swollen glands, headache....?...  I have had a swollen lymph node for about 6 months now but it has never hurt. Now the past few days i have become overly tired (like fall asleep standing up tired), moody, personality changes, body aches, slight temp (100-101), neck stiffness and neck muscle pain. I basically feel like I have the flu yet no vomiting and all the discomfort seems to be in my neck then this morning I got up and had a very warm burning feeling inside my left arm going from my neck down to my fingers. It stayed there for about 6 hrs and i was feeling like throwing up the whole time. I had to take a nap and wokeup feeling a little better but not by much. So what could this be? Worth a call to the Dr' office, I go to a clinic so can't really get in same day so is it maybe worth the call or should I go to first care?

3)   NO

COMMON SENSE ---- O is a universal recipient (in terms of blood transfusion) .. which figuratively means all blood types can have HIV . - wenzelpaulene

4)   Mostly anyone can get HIV, if you do some research on HIV it has to do with the lowering of white blood cells in the body, the only way that anyone could be immune to it is to defy being human because everyone has white blood cells, no exceptions and if you have them they can be lowered. - Liz

Question 2
I have a HUGE very painful zit?!?...  I've had this zit for seriously about 2 months now. I never ever have popped a zit in my life, but this thing was not healing on it's own so I popped it about two days ago. I realized too late however, that this was a very very bad idea! Now the thing is even bigger, but now the whole surrounding area is swollen and it hurts SO BAD. The zit is right next to my ear, and it honestly throbs like I have an ear infection (which I don't because it's next to my ear that hurts where the zit is, not my actual ear).
So do you think it got infected when I popped it? Any suggestions on what I could do to heal it?
thanks!

Answers
1)   It's a boil - Jake

2)   Get it moist with water, rub it off with a rag, then after about 10 minutes pop it again if you can. It hurts because its bruised from you pushing on it. When you pop it you either get the rest of the infection out or you cover it up with the rag until it stops bleeding - the_fresh_king2

3)   warm compress - and apply Neosporin to fight infection - see a doctor, two months is too long - DocJ

4)   Yes it could have gotten infected. You should try and keep your hands out of your face. That's why most acne starts. Your hands are dirty and when you touch your face it can fill your pores. Another thing you should know is that when popping a pimple you bruise the area around it, (so it might not be the actual zit that's bigger) could be the bruise. You can dab a little toothpaste on a zit and leave it overnight. It will dry it out, you could also clean it with peroxide. there are quite a few over the counter creams, cleansers, soaps, ect that you can try. It may take several failed attempts before you find one that works for you. Pimples can also appear due to hormones, and your diet! (That's why girls usually breakout before/ during her period,) you also need to examine your diet! Stay away from red meats, greasy/fried foods, sweets. Processed food, soda, etc!) Hope this helped!!! - renee

why do people with diabetes urinate alot?...  is it just the way it is that every person with diabetes urinates alot, or is it because people with diabetes drink alot of water. can a person with diabetes urinates alot even though he/she doesn't drink alot of water? like he/she drink the same as a normal person?

Thanks

Answers
1)   There's a much higher level of glucose in a diabetic person's blood which then gets filtered by the kidneys. Glucose in the renal tubes then will takes water from the body and turns it to urine. This is alongside the fact that diabetics have a higher water intake. So yes, it is possible to need to urinate more when diabetic even if you don't drink so much, because of the actions of the kidneys. - ms vicci pollard gerrard

2)   You should use avandia, it is the best about it you can get information from here http://canmdh5.notlong.com/AAp7LvV - ?

3)   Diabetes is a conditions with increased blood sugar (glucose) and when it is too high for the kidneys to reabsorb glucose, some of the glucose remains in the urine which increases the osmotic pressure of the urine causing the water to follow the glucose out of the body(polyuria--excessive urination). Due to fluid losses and blood volume the osmotic pressure will pull water from water stores in other body tissue/cells. This will lead to dehydration and increased thirst (polydipsia). It doesn't have anything to do with the amount of fluid you drink, it is the kidneys unable to handle the glucose load. - lynn25

Why hasn't a cure for cancer been found yet.?

Question 1
Why hasn't a cure for cancer been found yet.?...  with all the advances in modern medical technology, what is it about about cancer that makes it hard if not impossible to cure? Why hasn't medical technology found a cure yet for this devastating disease?

Answers
1)   Because cancer makes to much money to cure it. - catluva

2)   Because they're busy making wars and exploring space - Paula

3)   there are many cures for different types of cancer. it really depends on when you find it, and what kind it is. early detection is the key. "cancer" is like a "common cold". there are varieties of cold viruses. literally hundreds of infectious agents. the trigger for cancer is not well understood. why do some people get it, and some don,t? - David

4)   Because there to much money in looking for a cure.

There was a guy who use to go around talking about different ways of dealing with cancer but I think he was another one who was forced to stop because what he talked about would take money away from the pharmaceuticals. For instance you could actually put cancer into remission just by cutting dairy completely out of your diet. - Daddy Bear

5)   Because there is no one "cancer." It is a collection of hundreds of conditions. And when you fight cancer, you aren't fighting a foreign invader; you are fighting the patient's own body and cells. You have to figure out how to attack the cancer cells without killing normal cells. Fantastic progress has been made in certain kinds of cancer, like childhood leukemias, and hope is growing for others— even some of the most devastating— but it will be a war of many battles.

As for the "there's too much money in the current system," every doctor, nurse, and medical researcher would have to be a psychopath for this conspiracy theory to work. Think any of those people ever die of cancer? Think their loved ones do? You bet. If there were a cure, we'd know it. - fusepark

6)   So many reasons may be put forward, but fact is STILL NO ONE KNOWS THE BASIC CAUSE FOR AUTONOMOUS CELL PROLIFERATION IN SPITE OF ALL RESEARCH GOING ON.STILL IT IS LONG WAY TO GO. - well wisher

what does haemoglobin count means?...

Answers
1)   It originated in Eastern Germany when a group of monks abandoned the catholic church to become Protestants (Lutherans) They went out into the city and began to talk and socialize with the girls there. (NOTE: Lutherans are allowed to marry, unlike catholic priests.) After a night of heavy drinking, the monks were kissing many of the girls beneath a branch of mistletoe hung up above the bar. Afterwords it became a tradition for the monks, every year they would go to the same bar on the same day, celebrating their conversion to Lutheran Protestantism
Eventually, word spread around Spain and other monks converting continued with the socializing beneath the branch of mistletoe, and it became a Lutheran Protestant tradition, which soon spread to other religions, even Catholicism. (how ironic!) - Beastlykid

2)   It is the measurement of your blood iron. - Kathleen

3)   What is haemoglobin? Did you bother to find a definition before asking here?

Question 4
Can you go on the computer if you have a brain tumor?...  ok so i've been told you can't go on computer, use mobiles, watch tv etc when you have a brain tumor. Is this true?

Answers
1)   In human beings, complications arising out of continuous radiation exposure are known as electro hypersensitivity [EHS]. Under this condition, the person becomes highly reactive to EMR. In extreme cases, he can have severe breathing problems, heart palpitations and loss of consciousness. Many can feel electricity going through their body and experience disabling symptoms such as convulsions, memory problems and depression. "Many health complications, which can't be diagnosed could be linked back to such invisible radiation attacks," adds Walia. These radiations can even interfere with the functioning of medical devices like pacemakers.
Based on various studies, here goes a short list of EMF pollutants at home:

* Television, music system and all other electrical equipment even doorbells
* Radio and television transmitters and remote controls
* Computers, laptops
* Mobile phones
* Cordless phones
* Microwave ovens
* House wiring
* Power lines
* Cars, motor cycles. - gmoneystunt101

2)   Studies have found the following risk factors for brain tumors:
Ionizing radiation: Ionizing radiation from high dose x-rays (such as radiation therapy from a large machine aimed at the head) and other sources can cause cell damage that leads to a tumor. People exposed to ionizing radiation may have an increased risk of a brain tumor, such as meningioma or glioma.

Ionizing radiation is high-frequency radiation that has enough energy to remove an electron from (ionize) an atom or molecule. Ionizing radiation has enough energy to damage the DNA in cells, which in turn may lead to cancer. Gamma rays, x-rays, some high-energy UV rays, and some sub-atomic particles such as alpha particles and protons are forms of ionizing radiation.

Non-ionizing radiation is low-frequency radiation that does not have enough energy to remove electrons or directly damage DNA. Low-energy UV rays, visible light, infrared rays, microwaves, and radio waves are all forms of non-ionizing radiation. Aside from UV rays, these types of radiation are not known to increase cancer risk.

It is important to understand the difference between these types of radiation. For example, the non-ionizing radiation given off by a cell phone or a television screen is not the same as the ionizing radiation you might get from x-rays taken in a hospital.

So far it has not been proven that cell phones, computer screens etc cause cancer, or are harmful if you have a brain tumor. So it should be OK for a person with a brain tumor to use a computer or cell phone.

Researchers are studying whether using cell phones, having had a head injury, or having been exposed to certain chemicals at work or to magnetic fields are important risk factors. Studies have not shown consistent links between these possible risk factors and brain tumors, but additional research is needed. - CELESTE
