It depends how bad the infection gets.

Any skin infection can turn deadly but they can also be treated easily.

Be sure to take out the thing causing the infection. Clean it so well with peroxide and neosporin and some hot, clean compresses.

yea...infections can infect everything and everywhere...
it gets pretty bad if you leave that infected its just going to spread and just create more diseases and problems and your just going to slowly very slowly and painfully die.

unless you go to the doctor and make it go away in a few weeks and still continue to wear a ring and be fine and sexy

Yes, if you get a severe staph infection it could cause septicemia if left untreated. If you think its infected go to the doctor.

you can die if anything gets infected and you dont take care of it. dial antibacterial soap (handpump foam is best for avoiding cross contamination) or sea salt, warm water and a shot glass. make sure you dont have cheap jewelry thats flaking and if it doesnt get better check with your doctor

I have my belly button pierced, and it gets infected sometimes. Just wash it with warm water and antibacterial soap. Make sure you rinsed all the soap off, and then dry. Take a q-tip and rubbing alcohol to clean the ring. Don't use the rubbing alcohol to actually clean the piercing though.

If you clean it and give it time, the infection will go away. If you ignore the problem the infection could get really bad, causing you to get sick. Not die.

It is unlikely you will die unless the infection gets out of hand and enters your blood stream,but infection can eat away and leave a deeper hole than you expect and will take time to heal,if you think you have an infection see your MD.

i would just make sure it doesn't hurt, itch, or in any way look infected. if it is just another hole like the one you pierced i would wait until the next time you are due to go to the doctors and ask them. (make an appointment with a doctor that does piercings, they are more likely to know)

The best advice overall is to see a dermatologist, someone who specializes in these types of questions...each person's skin is different, and what works for one, may not necessarily work for the other...you might want to try drinking lots and lots of water on the daily, vitamin E is good, as well as A...but verify this with your physician first.
