What if I bled from my butt?

Question 1
What if I bled from my butt?...  What does it mean?
Its the first time this has happened to me and my period went away a couple of days ago.
Starting yesterday, whenever I used the bathroom, it would hurt but it didn't bleed.
I did not have sex or anything like that.
What does it mean and what should I do?
I'm only 14 years old and I'm freaking out. T_T

Answers
1)   Probably doesn't mean anything.... Give it a few days and/or go to the doctor, lol. - caleb

2)   don't freak out. has it continued? stopped? was it dripping or just on toilet paper?

possibly and internal or external hemorrhoid. happens to a lot of people (not sure about your age group though)

if it happens again, or is bleeding heavy or bright red, let your parents know. it could be a bleed further up in your GI tract - afmedic12

3)   Take a deep breath. It could be something as simple as hemorrhoids but the only way you are going to find out is to tell your parents and go to the doctor. Just go tell them. Knowing is much better than not knowing and being scared of what it might be. - pjh139psu

4)   you should wait to see if it happens again and if it does you should go to the doctor...

5)   my husband has the same problem. Go to the doctor ASAP!!! Tell your parents. He has a ruptured hemroid and a perforated bowel. Plus to put it bluntly you are too young to be having sex. Wait till you are older and can handle the responsibilities of life. Sorry for sounding like mom but I made that mistake and now he is with a good family. - Christine

6)   Best thing to do it just tell your parents and go to the doctor. - Shawn H

7)   Hello Laura,

If you had pain during a bowel movement, you may have been constipated. Constipation causes bowel movements of larger size and firmer density. This may have led to irregular stress to the tissue, and caused you to bleed, and not necessarily when you use the restroom. It is a common occurrence, and may be treated with a mild laxative, or an eight ounce glass of water with two tsp of Epsom salt mixed in. Read instructions carefully. While this condition is common, it should not be a prolonged experience. If you experience this for an extended amount of time, please consult a physician. Many things may cause constipation. Foods such as cheese, and fatty meats, or even soda and alcohol. Try to add more fiber to your diet and drink plenty of hydrating fluids. Drugs can also cause constipation. Most commonly opiates. These are prescription painkillers, or elicit drugs such as heroin. However if at any time in the past few days, you feel you may have been slipped a drug, blacked out, or have memory loss, see a doctor immediately. - Jeigh Neither

8)   It probably isn't anything serious and will probably resolve on it's own. I would tell your parents/doctor, you shouldn't be embarrased. - stat18

Question 2
does this sound like a heart problem?...  just curious, i have been having mild chest pain, feels like sombody is poking me inbetween the ribs on my left side near the top, and also have had feelings of a burning sensation in the centre of my breastbone and also feels like sombody is sat on my chest, i have no difficulty in breathing and the pain insnt radiating anywhere else. is this possibly indigestion, heartburn or wind? this has been goin on for about 2 / 3 days on and off everyday.

additional info:
also im 16 year old male weigh 9st. i dont drink, smoke, or take drugs and there is no family history of heart disease. i eat moderatly healthy but could do more

1)   The only way to find out is to go to the doctor. They will likely do an EKG which takes about 30 seconds. - Rick B

2)   You could have a chest infection due to the cold weather. But check a doctor first. - Kelsey Parker

3)   No, it sounds like something more ike indigestion. I would try some baking soda mixed with a little water as an inexpensive gas reliever. It could also be musculoskeletal and stretching and heat to the area may help. If this persists, please see a health care professional. - Barb M

4)   more like indigestion. - Polly

5)   More than likely not.

I have had a few people in my family have heart attacks and most of them did not feel chest pain or an elephant sitting on their chest. Most felt this:

Nausea
uncontrollable sweating
flu like symptoms
back pain

If you are only having discomfort on your left side, rib area, probably left nipple just under the arm pit it is more than likely a pull muscle in the chest which is more common than you think. It doesn't take much to hurt those muscles and it takes days maybe even weeks to fully heal since we use them way more than you think in our daily routine.

If it would make you feel better go see your pcp. - Dave

6)   It sounds nothing like a heart problem all of the things you said there indigestion, heartburn and wind is no doubt what you have got so don't worry . But if your still getting it then go to the doctors just so he can check it out and give you something for it but i wouldent worry it sounds nothing serious. - luke95

7)   Sounds like acid reflux.
Does it come on later in the day? Spicy foods can bring it on.
You might want to try taking a daily prilosec or zantac, you can get them in the drug store and they're pretty cheap. They're in the antacid section.
If it doesn't help then see your doctor. There's tests they can do to check your heart and your stomach for acid. - Bill

Question 3
Fakeing that you DONT have asthma?...  i think i have asthma (got told it when i was like 8) and i want to be an aircraft mechanic in the airfoce and i need to pass a test to make them think i dont have asthma nd i dont feel like i do i run all the time i dont have asthma attacks its insane

Answers
1)   Clear it with your doctor if you have asthma and if you do ask how severe it is. Then you should tell the company you have asthma and how severe it is and if it is minor they should probably take you in. Its better to tell them now instead of telling them later, them finding out, and firing you when you have a steady income. - Pili Hookano

2)   you are exactly like me! maybe just talk to your doctor and see if you are at any risk at all, and maybe just explain that you don't but just get short of breath at times (if you ever do) to the airforce. good luck. (: - Ali Lanser

3)   You can still be an aircraft mechanic if you have asthma! Don't ever try to say you don't have asthma but you do! Football, baseball, basketball, and soccer players have asthma! They make millions! Don't ever think you can't do a job if you have asthma! Just tell them you have asthma! Good Luck! - Autunno

4)   Lying about your medical condition can get you thrown out of the military, fined, or even imprisoned. Don't do it.

Instead, FIRST comb your medical records to see if any symptoms of asthma occurred after your 13th birthday. If no, it is unlikely to exclude you from joining even if you were reliably diagnosed before 13. SECOND, have your doctor run PFTs before and after exercise, and without and with albuterol, to see if your lungs -currently- have any signs of asthma.

If you presently have no signs of asthma, and your records don't show any symptoms after your 13th birthday, then you will not even need to apply for a medical waiver and can join as usual.

If you presently have signs of asthma on testing, get them right the heck under control with medication, and then apply to join with a medical waiver. Likewise, if you had symptoms after your 13th birthday but no longer do, take documentation from your doctor showing that your lungs are normal now to your recruiter, and apply for a waiver.

Lying is NOT how to start your military career. You WILL likely be caught, and that will ruin your career faster than you can possibly imagine. - Z

5)   I think you need to set your priorities straight, if you want to be an airforce mechanic to help your country don't lie. Nobody likes a liar. Go to your doctor and talk to him about it, they can clear you on some things, I don't know how old you are so I can't really answer your question. - stat18

Question 4
What are the chances my Aunt will survive in hospital?...  She is 64, currently in intensive care on a breathing machine, we don't know what is wrong with her. She has had a very bad cough for months but the doctor just kept giving her more medication, she had a bad back and became unable to hold her drink on Christmas Day because her hand was shaking and it just dropped on the floor. We called an ambulance because this is not her usual self at all and when she got there they sent her straight to intensive care.

They are running blood tests, she can't breath without the machine and she is heavily sedated but stable, we have also been informed she may have swine flu.

I really want her to be okay, I can't go to the hospital to see her because it's too much for me. I feel sick and nervous thinking about it. If she dies, the family won't be the same.
Does this sound like she will have a chance, nobody will tell me much since I am 17.
She has also NEVER been frail, she was always very active loud and funny, abit on the large side which caused the back problems but other than that....
Not a smoker, very healthy. Just overweight.

1)   Nobody will tell you because they don't really know. If all her organs are good, she might have a good chance. Hope for the best. - cdabexx

2)   Well, since we don't know what she has, we can't give you any kind of prediction. It sounds like she might have had a stroke. If she is not breathing at all without the machine, then it is possible she may have suffered extensive damage to her brainstem.

without knowing more, I would have to say it does not sound very hopeful.

Swine flu is not a big deal. - Rick B

3)   I don't really know what is wrong with her... Does she smoke? It could be a smoking related disease?

Docots will tell you things when they know. I'm 14 and when my dad was in intensive care doctors told me stuff. But they are very careful about what they say because people often sue them in they say 'yeah they are going to live' and theydont. My dad died in intensive care and the doctors were very rude. You just need to keep bothering them.
One time we waited 6 hours to have a meeting with a consultant. Thy Sao they were going to be 1 hour but were 5 hours late...
In time they will tell you more.
Hope it all get better sweet :) x - Sara Aura

4)   I love a bargain as much as anyone and I used to love all the cheap stuff I could find on eBay, but nowadays it seems so hard to find anything cheap over there and just when we're all finding it tougher to just pay our bills. I don't give up so I was looking for someplace online where I could still find myself a bargain... and by accident I came across this site I never heard of before where you get rock bottom prices from police impounded stuff, I mean I was worried about scams but this stuff is actually real and I got some real cheap stuff there... it's become my new eBay lol! Question 5
First time oral sex, unprotected?...  So a few days ago, I had oral sex with my boyfriend. He didn't use a condom. I didnt use a dental dam. Also, he didnt ejaculate in my mouth. I hadn't had any previous sexual experience. He's had 2 partners. After it happened, I went home to do some research and realized it would have been safer if We used protection and that I ran the risk of catching something. I asked him if he had ever gotten tested and told him that I wanted to and he got really upset. He said he doesn't have anything and that his previous girlfriends got tested and didn't have anything. Does that mean that I don't have to worry about getting any STDs? Should I still get tested even if his previous partners were clean? I love him and I don't want to lose him because he thinks that I think he's dirty or something. But it's my health we're talking about. Please help. Thank you.

Answers
1)   Above all, protect yourself. He may not have been completely honest with you.
. - Robert L

2)   You should not always believe what someone says. Yeah, it's your boyfriend, but people do lie. Get tested and encourage him to do that too. You can get ALL std's through oral sex. If your boyfriend doesn't comply, maybe he's not the one for you, is it worth getting HIV and dying in 12 years? - C

3)   Tell him that you don't think that he's dirty, but it's better to be on the safe side. Tell him you love him, you trust him, but this concerns your health, and more importantly, his.

Explain. - Nigel Aron

4)   Getting tested isn't fun but you should probably both get it done. - ?
