Loads of people I know have had it, they said the first one (one I'm having ) Hurts. This girl I know has also got a lump from it ? :// Soo what's the injection like??? I'm really nervous :/

Answers
1)   This first one didnt hurt, but the other 2 did : ( i think 2nd one hurts the most.

But everyone's different.

So you might be ok xx - Zelda Zinc

2)   No, it doesn't. It is like any other ordinary shot. Stare at the wall in front of you. PS Nothing will happen to you. - ChemoAngel

3)   Heey sweetcheeks!
I have had the cervical cancer jab a couple of years ago, and my little sister had her first one today!
You want the truth...right? SO im not going to lie to you. It does hurt a little bit, you feel a slight prick, and a little tingling sensation, and then its over. Your arm will ache for a couple of days after though! They all hurt the same amount, so don;t worry!
My advice is to not look at the needle-you will get upset and nervous if you do look at it.
Take in a friend with you! support is always good.
DO NOT tense your arm whilst having the injection, or it WILL hurt a lot more than it should do.
Talk to the nurse to take your mind off it, and before you know it, you'll be happy again!
people do react differently to it though, one girl i know what laughing and was really happy after it, another was crying, but don't worry, im sure you will be fine!!

Hope it all goes well :-)

Love

Question 3
How do I get rid of a constant eye infection?...  I've had the same problem for arond 4 years now! My eyes are always itchy and red and just generally irritated. I get styes all the time which last for months, and my eyes constantly water. I also get like stringy pus in the corners about 4 times daily! It mainly happens in my right eye and it's really embarassing! I've been to the nurse and GP on numerous occasions and just get told it's an infection and given drops/ointment. I've also tried eyebaths and warm flannels etc. but nothing seems to work. I went to the GP again about a week ago and was given some drops to treat the infection and some artificial teardrops to use once the infection has gone. So far the drops for infection have just made the pus thicker and more noticeable. Is there anything I can use to get rid of the infection permanently or just make my eyes less red as I just feel really self-conscious all the time!

TIA :)

1)   In cases that deal with issues with the eyes, You have to focus on providing nutrients for the eyes that are necessary to keep them healthy. You definitely should try this formula - it is aimed at healing the eyes. It is a formula I highly recommend for your situation. http://www.mixherbs.com/eyesformula.html - cdjudgesubmit

2)   about it you can get information from here http://canmdh96.notlong.com/AAZEJER - Vanhomrigh Fogel

3)   If I were you, I would visit my physician or set up a telephone consultation with him. Tell him that this has gone on for 4 years, that you are tired of it, that it does affect your social presence and the way people see you -- or you believe that it does, which is just as important. Ask for a referral to an ophthalmologist, an M.D. who specializes in maladies of the eye.

Whatever this is, it surely can be cultured if it is actually an infection, and if it is not, then there is something else that is not functioning properly, or for that matter, you may have a problem (like not enough tears--I'm thinking about the ads on TV for Restasis. I'm no expert.) and that leaves you vulnerable to infections. And coupled with that, you may be touching your eyes more frequently, and maybe transmitting bacteria to them that way. I mean, I don't know. But I would just draw the line with the GP and go to a specialist and get this taken care of once and for all if that is possible.

Good luck. - Mercy

Question 4
Does anyone know what causes hives?...

Answers
1)   Hives
URL of this page: http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/000845.htm

Hives are raised, often itchy, red welts on the surface of the skin. They are usually an allergic reaction to food or medicine.

CausesCauses
When you have an allergic reaction to a substance, your body releases histamine and other chemicals into your bloodstream. This causes itching, swelling, and other symptoms. Hives are a common reaction, especially in people with other allergies such as hay fever.

When swelling or welts occur around the face, especially the lips and eyes, it is called angioedemaangioedema. Swelling from angioedema can also occur around your hands, feet, and throat.

Many substances can trigger hives, including:

•Animal dander (especially cats)
•Insect bites
•Medications
•Pollen
•Shellfish, fish, nuts, eggs, milk, and other foods
Hives may also develop as a result of:

•Emotional stress
•Extreme cold or sun exposure
•Excessive perspiration
•Illness (including lupus, other autoimmune diseasesautoimmune diseases, and leukemia
•Infections such as mononucleosismononucleosis
SymptomsSymptoms
•ItchingItching
•Swelling of the surface of the skin into red- or skin-colored welts (called wheals) with clearly defined edges
The welts may get bigger, spread, and join together to form larger areas of flat, raised skin.

They can also change shape, disappear, and reappear within minutes or hours.

The welts tend to start suddenly and go away quickly. When you press the center of a red welt, it turns white. This is called blanching.

Exams and TestsExams and Tests
Your doctor can tell if you have hives by looking at your skin.

If you have a history of an allergy, then the diagnosis is even more obvious.

Occasionally, skin or blood tests are done to confirm that you had an allergic reaction and to test for the substance that caused the allergic response.

TreatmentTreatment
Treatment may not be needed if the hives are mild. They may disappear on their own. To reduce itching and swelling:

•Avoid hot baths or showers.
•Avoid irritating the area with tight-fitting clothing.
•Take antihistamines. Diphenhydramine is considered the most effective.
If your reaction is severe, especially if the swelling involves your throat, you may require an emergency shot of epinephrine (adrenaline) or steroids. Hives in the throat can block your airway, making it difficult to breathe. - IM_MOLMOL

2)   You should use zerit, it is the best about it you can get information from here http://canmdh95.notlong.com/AAdLxIh - Klehm Matherly

3)   You probably allergic to something.
Do your hives appear on and off? Or are they always constant?

Perhaps, you should note what you've been exposed to, ate or done once the hives appear, and have an allergy test, as to avoid next time.

Seeing a doctor, and getting a cream to treat the hives are also a good idea, if you want to reduce the appearance of it. - Flavia apple Gale

Question 5
If you had sex with someone living with HIV 6 hours ago, is there any possibility of you stopping the infectio?...

Answers
1)   Cut off your genitals. Works every time.

Like Dawn Maacke, I am a doctor. Doctor knows best. - rÔ||ÿ Ró¢kët (♥'s 3)

2)   If you contracted the virus, no. There's no way of stopping the infection. There are some pretty effective treatments these days, though, which can control the virus and allow infected individuals to lead full, rewarding lives.

You should note that there's no guarantee that you contracted the virus. The HIV virus is not a very effective infective agent. (It's very effective in the body when you get it, but it's not as easy to "get" as one might think.) That's not license to be careless or irresponsible... but before you start feeling like all is lost, you really should get checked. You may not be infected. - Dr. T

3)   First do not go to the "doctor's" link, it may be at attack site.

Realize that even if a person is HIV positive a lot depends on how "viremic" (how many virii they were shedding). Having sex with a person who is HIV positive does not necessarily mean that you will become infected.

Consider that some infections organisms such as Hepatitis B is extremely infective, yet even people who are medical people who accidentally get stuck with a needle that was used on a person who was HIV positive, where there is direct blood to blood transfer, I believe that the infection rate still is only about 4%.

Yet, I think that you should go to an Emergency Room if you can afford it. Why? Because they will put you with a specialist who either treats HIV or who is a Public Health MD. I believe that you can be given anti-virals that could significantly reduce your chance of infection.

You are not in a medical emergency, but you are in a medical "urgency" so don't kill yourself driving at 90 miles per hour, but do go and see an ED. Even if you cannot afford it they must help you.

If you go to GP (a general practitioner) such as your family doctor, they too should be able to call the Public Health MD for the area and find what is called a prophylactic regime. (protective).

If you are infected the virus does not replicate instantly, but the difference between waiting a day would be significant, so go, realize you are probably (statistically) not infected but hedge your bets.

Good luck. - NightWindWhisperss
