My inner labia becomes swollen after sex, is something wrong?

Question 1
My inner labia becomes swollen after sex, is something wrong?...  My partner and I have been having sex for several months, but just recently after sex I notice some pain and occasional bleeding. I've taken a look with a mirror and part of my inner labia seems to have swollen up like a balloon. It lasts for most of the day or night after having sex and continues to be slightly painful. Neither of us have STDs and I'm not allergic to the condoms because we don't use any. My partner is thicker than any of my previous partners so I thought that might be part of the issue, but we had sex for about 3 months with no issues prior to this. We use plenty of lubrication and that seems to help a little, but I still get the swelling and pain after. Any suggestions to figure out what's going on? I should be going in to see my gyno in about a month, so I'll discuss it with her, but I'm not sure if I should rush in to get things looked at.

1)   I think it would be best to get it checked out - Jim C

2)   You have bruising which you are not allowing time to heal. Abstain for a week or so and then see if the problem comes back. This is a very sensitive area where there is high flow of blood.
Keep the doctors appointment though. - ANF

3)   You may be allergic to the lubrication. - Nancy

4)   Although it may not be an STD, I suggest that you get it checked out just in case. It could just be really bad irritation, even if there is lubrication used. If it's irritated after intercourse it can lead to infections.

Question 3
How long will a person like this live...?...  My dad has been drinking and smoking for years now. About 10-15 years ago, he would binge drink for about 3 days at a time. One of his brothers eventually got him into doing heroin, which hes been doing for the past 10 years or so. I'm surprised theres been no complications until now.. back in september, he ended up in the hospital for a bone disease called osteomyelitis, which is caused by using drugs. He had to have back and stomach surgery, so they could scrape infections off of his bones. He was in the hospital for 2-3 months, and once he got out, he was right back to smoking cigarettes again, maybe a pack a day. He's supposed to take pills everyday for the rest of his life so that the disease doesn't come back, but he doesn't. I don't even know what to do or say, because I feel like anyone who does this to themselves and lets things like this happen is careless. I feel like he won't live long because of all the things he's doing, and I hate knowing that he eventually won't be there for me in the future because of his own mistakes. How long does someone like this live, on average. He's about 48-49 years old.
yeah, he's been in an out of jail for being caught with it a few times.

4)   My father is a doctor and i asked him about this he says hes lucky hes not dead yet or in jail and that he most likey wont live past 55 - S'tea

5)   Assuming that his health will kill him someday, he can die tomorrow... he can die in ten years... who knows? Even doctors would have a hard time answering that question.

I agree with you, he is careless. You say you can hate knowing that he won't be there for you in the future, but I doubt you can even say that he is there for you right at this moment. I'm sure he knows how you feel, but yet your relationship with him is not worth giving up his self-destructing habit and that is clearly affecting you. That is extremely selfish. - Kat

My problem is the ugly patches on my thighs which have been there for ages. I am ashamed to remove my pants in front of my gf. Please help. How do I get rid of those patches?

2)   if it has been that long you really should see a dermatologist -also things to think of are you possible allergic to laundry soap bath soap etc? that could be causing this of the fabric your clothing is made of? sometimes different skin infections look like it may be a fungal one (jock itch) but may be caused by something else hence need to see dermatologist to get proper treatment - princepessa commestibile appiccicosa dolce

3)   Jock itch is a fungal infection involving the top-most layer of skin, the epidermis. Fungi live on everyone's skin, and most of the time just sit there innocently causing no problems whatsoever. If the skin becomes irritated, like from chafing, for example, then the fungus can get into the skin and cause a skin reaction. Fungi also tend to grow in warm moist areas (sweaty areas), such as the groin, in between the toes, and the armpits. The best way to prevent fungal infections is to keep those areas as dry as possible by using powder. Antifungal powder is great, but even baby powder will work once you get the infection under control, to prevent it from recurring. Powder also helps to revent chafing.
As far as treating an active fungal skin infection, no matter what part of the body it's on, anti-fungal jock-itch creams such as Lotrimin or Tinactin generally work well. If the skin is very red and irritated, you can add some over-the-counter hydrocortisone cream, and apply botht he anti-fungal and the hydrocortisone creams to the area twice a day. Most people go wrong by stopping the anti-fungal cream too soon. You need to keep using the anti-fungal cream to the same are for at least 2 weeks AFTER the rash has totally disappeared, or else it will just keep coming back. - First L
