if you're a virgin can you get HIV ?... hi
i had a sex talk today at school and HIV was brought up alot. I'm a virgin - and i already understand that if you share razors etc you can get the virus, but what if your like me and you havnt had sex or shared razors or anything like that. can you still get HIV?
Answers
1) Yes, if someone with HIV somehow got their blood to touch an open wound on you you could get it. You could also be born with it from your parents. But the chances of both of those are very very low. - fo sho
2) if you share needles (like from drugs), you can get it. you can get it if someone who has it mixes bodily fluids with you. and, if your mom had it, you could be born with it. however, if you avoid sexual contact and drugs, you should be in the clear. - weather mime
3) it is possible, if you are not sharing needles, or have had blood to blood (or semen) contact with someone who is infected. If you haven't done this then you have nothing to worry about. - peacelovewine
4) about it you can get information from here http://fdoctors15.notlong.com/2AA1tnT - Lavelle
5) only if u are an IV drug user and share needles... Otherwise no. - Squirsh
6) No. You can only get it by a blood transfer. Some people got it by blood transfusion but now there are screening procedures so that doesn't happen. Drug addicts sharing needles can get it also. - Heather H
7) HIV is a transmittable disease, but generally requires an exchange of blood. If you have a strong immune system, you can fight it off, but most of the people that are getting it and spreading it in places around the world have weak immune systems.
good luck to you - onlymatch4u

Answers
1) If it bothers you that much you need to seek a Dr. for help. - Weelo
2) Bronchitis is an acute inflammation of the air passages within the lungs. It occurs when the trachea (windpipe) and the large and small bronchi (airways) within the lungs become inflamed because of infection or other causes.
The thin mucous lining of these airways can become irritated and swollen.
The cells that make up this lining may leak fluids in response to the inflammation.
Coughing is a reflex that works to clear secretions from the lungs. Often the discomfort of a severe cough leads you to seek medical treatment.
Both adults and children can get bronchitis. Symptoms are similar for both.
Infants usually get bronchiolitis, which involves the smaller airways and causes symptoms similar to asthma. - Andy
3) if you had meningitis you'd be dead already, most all people who have it die with in 24 hours of contracting it, most don't know they have it til the autopsy, you probably just have bronchitis or a really bad cold, did they do an H1N1 test?? don't freak out - Rita
4) you probably have bronchitis only, or bronchitis and also the flu or a cold (because of compromised immune system). Typically with meningitis, your neck will be so sore that you cannot bend it forward and touch your chest. However, if it is really bothering you, go back to the doctor. - peacelovewine
5) Take your meds, bronchitis is not deadly to a 20 year old. Relax. Drink lots of fluids. Hiope you feel better soon. - Depp fan
6) Viral meningitis can be diagnosed with a blood test, bacterial meningitis comes with a raging fever and other severe and unignorable symptoms. Viral meningitis is usually very mild and isn't treated. One tip I heard before is if you can touch your chin to your chest, and not scream in agony, its not meningitis. Of course this was a doctor who had the full range of tests at his disposal to cover his butt. Short answer is your doc is probably right. They are pretty careful about meningitis in your age group and wouldn't have turned you loose if they thought it was a possibility. If you still have a concern they can run a few tests but if I were you I would sit on it for a while and only consider going back in if things get worse or the fever gets into the 102-103+ range. - Billy

Question 3
H1N1 flu or regular flu?... I work at a daycare. Last week a bay came in and didn't look well. His father came later to pick him up but I must've caught what he had. I'm thinking its just regular flu because they didn't say anything when I called in sick. I feel awful. Sneezing, coughing, sore throat, runny nose, fatigue, aching muscles, headache, & I believe I had a fever. I've been sick for almost a week and I've not been able to talk for 2 days. I don't really have the money to see a doctor. As of now I have about $60. I don't know if you can help but should I go to the clinic or just try to ride it out?
Answers
1) Go to a free clinic for peace of mind.
You might or might not have H1N1.
But phone them before hand. It's best they know ahead of time so that you don't affect the other patients and medical staff. - hauntedsnowfort™
2) Could be H1N1, could be regular flu, could be a bad cold. How high is your temperature? If you still have a high temperature (greater than 101.5 or 102) or don't start getting better soon, you should go see a doctor. - mh
3) most definetly go to your local health department or hospital. There are plenty of options and help out there, although they may be a pain in the butt. Your health must come first though. We only get one chance at life so take good care of it - plbenton

5) I just went--they tell you you have the flu,,get plenty of liquids and rest---but no meds - pghpatt

Question 4
My 3 month old baby has eczema on his eyebrows?... I am using baby Aveeno and baby laundry soap and have heard that cortisone cream can take the pigment out of their skin so I would like to avoid using it on his face. Any ideas of what I can do for him to take he itch away?
Answers
1) I have eczema on my arms and legs, and they told me to use the Aveeno lotion as well,i guess ebcause it's thicker. So i'm not sure if putting anything on his face would help because it might irritate it more. Also, as soon as you give him a bath dont dry his face completely and apply the lotion then because it absorbs better. - southernpeach92
2) My son has eczema, diagnosed as a baby and still gets occational eczema, usually in winter. I also used a steroidal cream, but the possible side effects worried me too. What helped tremendously, believe it or not, is just plain and simply to keep the areas moisterized. Vaseline was, and still is helpful. You may want to see if your pediatrician will perscribe nystatin. You may not need to apply very much, use VERY little and then a thin coat of vaseline over that. Also, try not to use anything with any sort of perfume, that includes baby soap and Aveeno. Good luck. And congratulations on the new arrival! - Zoe 38
3) Aloe is also alternative - Ron

Question 5
How can I make chocolate turtles for my diabetic grandpa?... My grandpa is diabetic, but he used to love those turtle chocolates with caramel and nuts. I would love to make him some for Christmas but I can't seem to find a recipe online?
Answers
1) Use stevia as the sugar substitute because it is not genetically engineered garbage like all the other ones are and is a natural plant used as medicine in the Amazon. It won't hurt the body.
Then use Carob as the chocolate substitute.
good luck to you - onlymatch4u
2) Use Splenda it is a Sugar sub. and works real well for desserts and Diabetics. - Rhonda
3) You can find sugar free chocolate turtles at most candy stores. Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory has some great ones. I've even seen a box at my local grocery store.
Making them yourself? Well, that would be very difficult. You would need sugar free caramel and chocolate, both of which are hard to find.
Buy the pre-made ones and put them in a gift basket along with some fresh fruit and nuts!
Your grandpa is very lucky to have someone as thoughtful as you and I'm sure he would be happy with any gift you decide on! - Lela C
