Any tips on dry feet?

Question 1
Any tips on dry feet?...  So I'm 14 and my feet will get all dry on the bottom... like hard, if you know what I mean , not soft. Also around my heel it'll get cracked. My one friend told me to put on lotion on my feet and then put socks over them before I go to sleep.. Which seems to help a little . Anyone else have any tips?

Answers

4)   Rub Nutella over them and dangle them over the toaster. - PUCK YOU ----- Gilmour93

5)   Soak them in warm water and rub salt on them, as weird as that sounds, then before you go to bed put Vaseline on them before socks (:

6)   if its really bad your doctor can prescribe urea cream , it really helps alot. also, there is an over the counter lotion called Amlactin that works pretty well too - ♠Mrs Reznor♠

7)   try to soak your feet in warm water with epsom salt for 10-20 minutes daily.. after doing this, take a foot file (or even a finger/toe nail file) to carve down the callous'. the hard & dry part of your feet are thick skin built up, otherwise known as callous'. putting lotion on you feet will also help.. try to keep them very moisturized!
hope this helps! (: - xmisshaleyx

Question 4
My cousin has got meningitis im scared!?...  can someone tell me what the basic meaning of it is and can it be treated i heard it can cuz perminant brain damage im scared he is in hospital on a drip please tell me this in basic terms

Answers
1)   meningitis is inflammation of the meninges of the brain . it is fatal because it infects the brain itself . however it could be treated usually in the intensive care unit by massive dose of antibiotics ,intravenous fluids . palliative treatments like complete bed rest . pain relivers and good nutrition . - lolit

2)   Untreated, bacterial meningitis is almost always fatal. Viral meningitis, in contrast, tends to resolve spontaneously and is rarely fatal. With treatment, mortality (risk of death) from bacterial meningitis depends on the age of the patient and the underlying cause. Of the newborn patients, 20–30% may die from an episode of bacterial meningitis. This risk is much lower in older children, whose mortality is about 2%, but rises again to about 19–37% in adults. Risk of death is predicted by various factors apart from age, such as the pathogen and the time it takes for the pathogen to be cleared from the cerebrospinal fluid, the severity of the generalized illness, decreased level of consciousness or abnormally low count of white blood cells in the CSF. Meningitis caused by H. influenzae and meningococci has a better prognosis compared to cases caused by group B streptococci, coliforms and S. pneumonia. In adults, too, meningococcal meningitis has a lower mortality (3–7%) than pneumococcal disease. - Yee Yee

3)   Meningitis is a bacterial infection of the membranes covering the brain and the spinal chord. It can be caused by many different things, but most often it is treated with antibiotics. The IV drip that your cousin has is probably being used to treat or prevent some possible symptoms of meningitis (most notably brain swelling, shock, and seizures).

Again, I don't know what type of meningitis your cousin has, but most types of viral meningitis are usually not too serious and clear up after about 2 weeks without any major complications.

I know it's scary, but talking to the doctor or nurses can be very comforting. They will be able to give you way more information than we can here on the internet.

I wish your cousin the very best. :) - SummerExpat
