How to get rid of acne for good?

Question 1
How to get rid of acne for good?...  Im 18 and I always have these big breakouts on my face. Ive been dealing with acne for 5 years now and tried everything. Does anyone have any suggestions for clearer skin?

Answers
1)   check your diet with a specialist. - tanha

2)   Age yourself by 6-8 years. Sorry bud, the acne industry is big business and they make a lot of money giving false hopes to millions of young people. My experience is that I don't know anyone who had any real lasting success with clearing their skin up until physiologicial changes occured in adulthood that cleared it up the natural way. I do however, know of studies where people took harmful amounts of questionnabe medicines to rid themsleves of acne to no avail. Its a horrible thing to deal with - I know - I really feel for you but thats the truth. - John A

3)   Ya you have to cut out sugar and carbs. I got rid of my acne doing that and then it came back again when I started eating it again. My system just can't handle it. - Topaz

Question 2
What should I do with this problem?...  I had sex a couple years ago with this boy. And a couple years later, I started having STD symptoms. A couple years later, I finally decided to go to the clinic. They told me I didn't have gonorrhea, HIV, herpes, or syphilis. So basically the only one left was chlamydia. I said okay and a couple weeks later I noticed I still had the symptoms so I went back to the clinic, and they told me the same things but gave me antibiotics. A week later everything was going good, until I noticed the bumps on my penis was still there. WHAT SHOULD I DO!?!?!?!?

Answers
1)   Most likely forcyde spots, harmless whit bumps that do nothing, you cant get rid of them.

If the clinic told you, you are clear, then you are. - Ashley

2)   Hi,
see my previous answer plus a link to the netdoctor site which explains bumps and lumps on the penis are quite normal (as long as they aren't painful, pus filled or weeping, of course!)

http://www.netdoctor.co.uk/ate/menshealth/207705.html - TR

3)   Cut your penis and throw it away. - Pif H

4)   As many as 1 in 4 men with chlamydia have no symptoms. In men, chlamydia may produce symptoms similar to gonorrhea. Symptoms may include:

•Burning sensation during urination
•Discharge from the penis or rectum
•Testicular tenderness or pain
•Rectal discharge or pain

The diagnosis of chlamydia infection involves sampling of the urethral discharge in males or cervical secretions in females. If an individual engages in anal sexual contact, samples from the rectum may also be needed. The sample is sent for a fluorescent or monoclonal antibody test, DNA probe test, or cell culture. Some of these tests may also be performed on urine samples.

The mainstay of therapy for chlamydia includes appropriate antibiotic treatment -- these include: tetracyclines, azithromycin, or erythromycin.

You can get chlamydia with gonorrhea or syphilis, so if you have one sexually transmitted disease you must be screened for other sexually transmitted diseases as well. All sexual contacts should be screened for chlamydia.

Sexual partners must be treated to prevent passing the infection back and forth. There is no significant immunity following the infection and a person may become repeatedly infected.

A follow-up evaluation may be done in 4 weeks to determine if the infection has been cured.

I don't know where you went to get checked out, but it sounds like they don't know what they're doing. Bumps don't usually appear with chlamydia. Go to a professional and see if you can get a second opinion. - PurpleSkie

Question 3
Ways to help a sore throat?...  I've been a bit sick lately, and while everything else is getting better, it seems that my sore throat is getting worse. I have to wince when I swallow, because the pain is so bad. It hurts just when I'm sitting around.

How can I help this thing out, and ease the pain even a little bit? I'm about to have some green tea/honey.

Answers
1)   Do what you said some Green Tea and Honey - Estefani Rodriguez

2)   hot tea with honey :] - Dina

3)   warm drinks help ease the pain a bit. but to kill the bacteria gargle with warm water and salt. it's gross but it works. do it before bed. a tablespoon of salt in a quarter cup of warm water to dillute the salt. then go to bed or nap. don't brush or eat or drink anything after you gargle. don't swallow it either. just gargle for 30 seconds or a minute! - Tyler

4)   Good old Kentucky sipping whiskey works wonders!

I ain't kidding! While I am not one who imbibes, I use whiskey for marinating meats, and when I get a severe sore throat I will sip about a tablespoon every hour or so. The alcohol cleanses and soothes the infected throat. Just don't over do it especially if you are taking pain relievers.

Mix it half and half with honey if you can't stand the taste. - br549

2)   Zithromax will not cure asthma. There is not cure for asthma but very good medications to help maintenance it. See your physician. - Blaze_23

3)   about it you can get information from here http://mdcan5.notlong.com/7AASRoC - Josceline Gofman

4)   I'm gonna go out on a limb here... You didn't get diagnosed with asthma this summer. If you did, your doctor would have discussed, with you and your parents [your syntax and descriptions tell me you're a minor], whether continuing organized sports would be advisable.

Further, you were prescribed zithromax? Zithromax is a broad spectrum antibiotic, which far too many doctors hand out like tic-tacs, so it will become obsolete far sooner than necessary. It can be quite effective for treatment of minor to moderate bacterial infections and is very often given for sinusitis or bronchitis.

Given your description of "having asthma", I'm going to guess that you had bronchitis. Bronchitis can make one feel somewhat like a person having an asthma exacerbation.

Either way most people with asthma live normal lives and can participate in activities as the choose.

Consult with your physician if you want, you're going to have to have a physical before they'll let you on the wrestling team anyway. - Phil
