1)   Low-density lipoprotein (LDL) is one of the five major groups of lipoproteins, which in order of size, largest to smallest, are chylomicrons, VLDL, IDL, LDL and HDL, that enable lipids like cholesterol and triglycerides to be transported within the water-based bloodstream. Blood tests typically report LDL-C, the amount of cholesterol contained in LDL - Dev Suthar

Question 2
I have degenerative disk disease and spondylosis. I worry about bone cancer. Need help please?...  I have had this for a long time, but worry about bone cancer. Cancer run's in our family, we have both bone and breast caner and have lost two aunts and two uncles from both types. I looked on the net and found that I have all of the symptoms for bone cancer except one and that is weight loss. Does anyone have any advice?

Answers
1)   I had osteosarcoma, which is a bone cancer.
You don't give an age, which is a massive factor in Bone Cancers. Most Bone Tumours are found in Teenagers and Children, and sometimes Old people.
Most cancers are not hereditary (less than 10% are), but Doctors think that there is a potential that bone cancer can run in families, although, even if this were the case, your chance of getting Bone Cancer would still be very small.

Don't try and diagnose your self on line... If you are worried go to a Doctor. Hopefully he/she will reassure you that there is nothing to worry about.
Symptoms of Bone Cancer are often symptoms of many other illnesses, or even something as simple as "growing pains".
If you are diagnosed, it's better to find out now, rather than later, when it could be worse.

I wish you all the best (: Feel free to email if you want to know anything else. - Emily Jones

2)   This WILL NOT cause bone cancer. I've had DJD(degenerative joint disease ) Also (Disc/joint disease. the one I have) for over 30 yrs. My husband has DJD as well as spondylosis and spondylolisthesis for about 40 yrs. Neither one of us had bone cancer. The two are in no way related. Breast cancer can be hereditary providing you have a long long history and you possess the faulty gene for it. The only way you will find that out is by being tested for this gene through DNA testing, called BRCA1 & 11. One, is for breast cancer and II is for ovarian, cervical, uterine cancers. Please don't go on the net to find answers to medical questions. I know out of curiosity, people do it. Many of these sites are false, or they don't give the entire picture. Ask your doctor, Believe me, these don't cause cancer of any kind. Relax I had breast cancer but I was also positive for the genes, Even then, being positive doesn't mean you can or will get breast cancer. It only means the possiblity is there. Question 3
gluten free for celiac blood test?...  my sons dr sent us to have blood work done bc he was not very well behaved until i took him off gluten. i called the drs office to ask if he needed to be on gluten before having his blood taken the nurse said no is that true? he had it done yesterday but he has been like 99% gluten free for a little under 2 months. will his results come back right or will we have to start giving him gluten again to have the test done correctly?

Answers
1)   The test results are a little tricker when a person is on a gluten free diet, but the docs can use a much lower "norm" to interpret the antibody test. If he has been on a gluten free diet and does not have celiac disease, his antibody levels should be below normal. If the antibody levels are normal or above, the results would indicate celiac disease. If the results end up at the low end of the normal range, the findings might be inconclusive. - formerly_bob

2)   If you are testing for celiac disease using the different antibody tests then he will need to be exposed to gluten regularly for the test to not give a false negative. If they are doing genetic testing, then he does not have to be exposed to gluten. - sailor
