If your child does not want to receive chemotherapy?

Question 1
If your child does not want to receive chemotherapy?...  but the state is making him receive it, should he be allowed to stop or not?

Answers
1)   A child is not capable of making those kinds of choices! - John C

2)   No he shouldnt... Im a kid i beliieve in making my own choices... but that pure idiocy..... thats practical suicide and no it dosent matter... he dosent have that choice - *Flowers R Pretty*

3)   If he has no chance of survival, yes he should be able to call the shots. No point in making those last few months worthless and miserable

But if he has a chance at survival, no, his opinion should not matter, he's a child and deserves to live whether he realizes it now or not. - GI Jane

4)   Children are not legally competent to make adult decisions. That is why parents have legal authority to make all medical decisions for their children until age 18. If the parents behave in a reckless or dangerous manner that endangers the life of the child, then they are stripped of their parental rights and the government assumes control of the child's welfare. - BSherman

5)   Any thinking person looking at the data for chemotherapy should realize that they are better off not getting any chemotherapy. Their survival chances are increased greatly by not getting it. To force a child to get chemotherapy with or without his or her consent is not wise. We know that only 2% to 3% of people getting treated for cancer with chemotherapy survive longer than 5 years. Those that do NOT get treated, live many years longer.

If your child does not want to receive chemotherapy, he or she should not have to be put through that. The state should not have anything to do with the decision one way or the other. Who are the people in the state that are qualified to make those decisions anyway. Look at the decisions they are making for us now and realize that our sad state of affair is a result of there decisions. Anyone that thinks the people at the state can make rational decisions on any level are delusional.

good luck - onlymatch4u

Question 2
Why do I still have acne?...  I've been on this antibiotic doxycycline for 10 months in combination with benzoyl peroxide aquous based 10%.

On top of this I have a routine.
Wash face twice with antibacterial unscented soap.
Use unscented noncomedogenic mosturizer.
No make up.
Change pillow cases around twice a week.
No touching face.
Drink lot of water.
Healthy diet.

Im a 19 year old female. I had my period when I was 11. So, I believe I'm past the raging hormone stage.

My skin is way clearer than when I started the treatment and started this routine but why is my chin still flared up? I ocassionally get some acne on other parts of my face, like my nose and cheeks but not as bad as before but why do I still have tiny bumps all over my face?

Is there something else that I need to do?? Is this not the right treatment? Should I be on birth control instead? Is this the best it can get?? How much longerrrr.

I mean come on, it's almost a year since this treatment.

Please if any of you have gone through this or have any advice I desperately need it. I'm tired of this fight with acne. I've had this problem since I was 12 years old.
I would like to hear your experiences also. Thank youuuu so much for any help.

2)   Stress and lack of sleep also contribute to acne, so you may want to consider those two factors.

Your acne can also be caused by your hair touching your face too much (so if you have bangs that brush the side of your face or graze your chin, bacteria and germs from your hair may be transferred to your skin). Try washing your hair everyday, if you don't already.

Also, if your acne is mostly concentrated on one spot, there's probably something about it. Try dabbing a moist napkin around your lip area after you eat.

Good luck. - Vanessa

3)   If this is truly a concern you need to make an appointment with your primary care Doctor. He or She will probably write you a prescription for an antibiotic or refer you to a Dermatologist. Don't worry to much it will clear up. Take care! - Ice

4)   I am 13 and have an acne problem. My doctor says that sun is the best treatment. That and confidence, what you see in the mirror is most likley not as bad as what everyone else sees. Stress is also a big factor... I take fish oil pills, they help control stress and make your skin and hair nicer. They make pimples look less red, and they help put you in a better mood! They are pretty bigowns hard to swallow though.. Took me a while to finally take it... Haha.... Hoped I helped :) - Lola

Question 4
Is acne unattractive?...  I mean on guys.... not that bad.... But what about on girls? I have some acne around my Chin, nose and a little on my cheek. It's not terrible, but it's a bit worse than other people. I would be a lot more confident if I had none, but I was just wondering If it was that unatractive... I'm 13 by the way...

Answers
1)   i am 13 and have some on my back it is so gross wash your face in the morning and before bed with acne stuff - doglover

2)   You're very young and it's common to have pimples at your age. When I was 13 I had it BAD, and it really sucked. Don't use a lot of products on your skin, you might damage it. Just wash your face every morning and every night

and dont worry...it will go away in time, maybe even if a few weeks! as long as you are confident, it doesn't matter what other people think. you're beautiful with or without acne, but of course, we all feel more confident without it =) - fossilized sap

Question 5
I think I have a nose/piercing infection, please, please help??...  I got my nose pierced in August 2009. I have had no problems until now. About a week ago my nose started getting really sore when I would take my piercing out to wash my face, ad then like 4 days ago I couldn't even take my piercing out of my nose because it was so painful. When I finally got it out there was crusty things and dried blood on my piercing. I have cleaned the piercing, and I now realize that it is not the piercing, it is my nose. The inside of my nostril has a large bump, or is very swollen right around the piercing area. It is extremely painful to put my piercing in and to take it out. I think it is filled with pus, or just super infected. I have been using hydrogen proxide, and salt water to clean it, but it feels like it is getting worse. Please, please help me, my nose is in so, so much pain.

Answers
1)   Well, my sister got her nose pierced, and like a few months later, it got infected. Her nose didnt do that tho. All she did was clean it with proxide, and it finally just healed. I would probably suggest, you go get your nose looked at. Just in case, okay Sweetie? :) Hope your nose gets better soon. - Nikki
