9)   A zit, a boil, an insect bite or some other skin condition.

I'll tell you what it's not - breast cancer.

Breast lumps are within the breast, not on it. Pain is rarely a sign of breast cancer - most people diagnosed with breast cancer have felt no pain.

The chances of a 15 year old having breast cancer are so close to zero that it makes just about no difference. It's almost unheard of in under 25s and fewer than 0.1% of all those diagnosed with it are under 30; only 5% are under 40, most (80%) are over 50 and the average age at diagnosis is a little over 60.

When I was diagnosed with breast cancer I was classed as a 'younger woman' - because I was only 50 and that's still pretty young for breast cancer.

As I said breast lumps are within the breast, and even in women over 50 most of them aren't cancer - over 80% of breast lumps considered serious enough for biopsy are found to be benign.

You're in an age group where breast cancer is just about unknown (you have a greater chance of being struck by lightning. Twice.) and you don't have any symptoms of it. Talk to your mother about this; if you don't feel comfortable about that, or you're still worried, talk to your school nurse - she will be able to reassure you that you have nothing to worry about - lo_mcg

I've done:
•aftersun
•moisturing cream
•vasaline
•cold shower / bath
•ice

and it's getting worse and is getting pimpley :[

Answers
1)   Not a lot. Just carry on having cold showers and applying after sun.
Stay out of the sun at all costs. It will make it worse, even with a high factor sun screen on.
Yous skin needs time to heal. Also, it sounds like you are getting blisters. Try not to scratch or burst them, as they help your skin to heal quicker. - Sophie

2)   i'm having the same problem and the sunburn gave me like, four pimples and i NEVER break out! i feel you, girl :( - britt brat

3)   Live yogurt is what they use in Greece. Wierd feeling but very cooling. - mfbecc

4)   If you spilt boiling water all over your body... you'd go to the hospital.
If you're sunburnt all over your body... you'd also go to the hospital.

A burn is a burn.
This is what I learnt in first aid. If this sunburn is over a large portion of your body then you should really go to the hospital. They'll know what to do and they'd make you much more comfortable.

Meanwhile, If you burn yourself you'd treat it by running it under cold water, to get all of the heat out. It sounds like you've burnt an extensive proportion of your body. Personally i'd get a cold shower...

When getting a cold shower you have to make sure that you do not stay under it for too long, as this could end up giving you hypothermia, which leads to making the whole situation worse.

I hope my advise helped! x - Foxy

5)   camomile lotion!! - Grace

6)   those pimples may actually be signs of blisterinng- you can go from a 1st degree to a second degree sunburn which may need medical attention- you should take some Motrin or tylenol( and may need a prescription pain reliever) and may need to go to your Dr. for further evaluation - pedidoc43

7)   sudo cream or calamine lotion - kat

Question 4
Why am i coughing up blood?...  i was just in a kinda serious car accident and have a few cracked ribs, concussion, my back is killing me, and it hurts when i breathe. is it normal to be coughing up blood? im a little worried

Answers
1)   You need to see a doctor asap. - starlilly17

2)   dont know - Jon

3)   c dr asap - Moishe K

4)   Hello, I'm a doctor. Use guaifenesin. I think that you want to get more info about it. Please go to ----> http://webmd54.notlong.com/AAqSTzM - Ronny L

5)   I just can't think of anything that hurts more than a cracked or broken rib. I was kicked once by a horse and another time beaten by a man hired by a former spouse to beat me, so I've had them twice. Every time you inhale, you exacerbate bone pain. So the pain is part of the injuries you described.

But coughing up blood is a medical red flag. It is one of those symptoms that can possibly (please note the tentativeness of that statement) -- can possibly -- be extremely serious, and so it always needs to be checked out, particularly if it is a new-onset problem. If you have a physician, you should call your physician's office. This is Sunday; his/her office is closed. But the answering service or the clinic service will have an emergency number you should call or they will have a physician on call. Ask that you get a call back, tell the doc about your symptom, that it is new-onset (has happened since you saw the doc last), and ask what you should do.

He may want another chest x-ray, may want you to be seen in the ER, may want to wait until tomorrow. It is possible that, as the on-call, he (or she) will be able to access your records online and deal with you immediately. Call now. This requires attention. - Mercy
