Question 2
does drinking lemon juice every morning really help stop acne?...  I have heard drinking lemon juice every morning help with acne. Is it true?

Answers
1)   Eek. I don't know about acne, but it will destroy the enamel on your teeth, so don't do it. Plus, it is a natural astringent and antibiotic, so just rub it on your acne instead. - Laura B

2)   um not much if at all. Just use an astringer, use oil free moisturizer, wash your face in the morning and at night and use a scrub 2-3 times a week.

an oatmeal facial will work fine as well as it stops inflamation - Liz

3)   I recommend you to see ----> http://www.all-home-remedies.com
I hope that will resolve your problem, keep using answers.yahoo.com - Lisa K

4)   NO!!!!! That's ridiculous and is going to give you heart burn.

The only way to stop acne is to change your hormones, dry out your skin, or lower the oil production on your face. - likn my life

5)   I never heard such an absurd thing. Acne is caused by buildup of facial oils and dead skin cells. The best way to get rid of acne is to keep your face dry without oils by washing everyday. Putting on some facial creams would be a nice way to keep your skin healthy, too. - Sil3nt

6)   Well, yes I would say it definitely helps! I tried it for a while and definitely saw an improvement in my skin, it seems to make the skin 'glow' more as well. I can't remember exactly, but it has something to do with the acid in the lemon which helps balance levels in the blood, and also it clears toxins in the body. Also since it is a fruit it is full of vitamin C, which obviously is great for the skin! I only stopped drinking it cos i got lazy lol and love to have my tea in the morning :) But good luck with it hope it helps! - Lauren Brittany

7)   No not really, WATER Does
But ive heard that rubbing lemon juice on your acne scars and acne helps it
Ive never tried it, but i will once im done this new method im using - Maaya

Question 3
Is it an STD? please help .?...  I'ma girl whoose 14 years old, and yes I'm a virgin, but for about the last 2 years I've noticed like some on and off bumps around my bikini line and just a little in the top and corner of my pubic hair and I was like hmm I'm not sure what that is could it jus be acne but lately boys have gotten more touchey feeling and I've been REALLY self conscious about it. I know I'm to young to have sex and I don't plan to but I'd at least like to have the choice and not be to embarrassed too!!! the bumps usually come around every other period and get like pimples then I can pop them and they get crusty and go away leaving a scar for a little while. Please give me advice I've been getting really scared lately reading about STDs :(
I know but sometimes they come without shaving and they pop a little differently.

Answers
1)   I don't know what other people are going to answer, but I'll just give you a short answer: Yes. - John Haverbrook

2)   you can't get an STD WITHOUT having SEX in the first place...it could be heat rash or an allergy. - Chrys

3)   if your a virgin its 100% not an STI it could possibly be acne though - Nathaniel

4)   STD's== Sexually transmitted diseases.

You CANNOT get these diseases unless you have sex.
You are a virgin.
Those are just bumps on your bikini line. Do you shave down there? Maybe that's issue. If you pop any kind of pimple they will crust up. That's just the way the body works.
Seriously if you're worried about this so much, talk to your parents and have them take you to the doctor. I don't think it's an STD, but then again I'm not a doctor. Also make sure you get educated on what an STD is and how you can get them... think about what STD stands for. - Sam

5)   no its most likely just sweat pimples. you can get them anywhere. You have had no way to have gotten an STD and if you just want to be safe ask your docter. Its thier job so don't be embarassed around them - Jason Rashall

Question 4
Could i have asthma?...  Im just trying to figure out if i could have asthma. I have these "spells" where i have a hard time getting a deep breath, and then i cough a lot after. I also cough a lot after exercise. It does run in my family, i don't know if that matters. My doctor thought i might have it when i was younger but never actually said i did. Im 16 now and think i might. If anyone could tell me some symptoms of asthma, or if you have it how you found out you did. Thank you!

Answers
1)   Here's a good site with asthma symptoms: http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/asthma/DS00021/DSECTION=symptoms

I found out that I had asthma when I coughed a whole lot. Usually around smoke, stressful situations, during/after exercising, as well as with seasonal changes. I would also struggle to catch my breath as I coughed. I never had an asthma attack till after I was given an inhaler, but never had to be hospitalized for it. - dream_galaxies

2)   it could be the dust in your household that is agitating the breathing conditions .. just a suggestion by the way... try vacuuming and sunbaking your blankets. But you say it runs through the family then it sounds congenital try referring to a specialist or a different doctor this time for a second opinion. some of Asthma's symptoms are coughs, wheezing, shortness of breath. get a chest x-ray to determine your health situation

try this link

http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/000141.htm#Symptoms

hope this helps - Hays

3)   Symptoms: Wheezing, Chest tightness, Coughing, Feeling short of breath

I was diagnosed with asthma when I was ten. I used to be a competitive soccer player, and I noticed that after my games my chest felt tight and I was wheezing. I mentioned this to my doctor and he prescribed an emergency inhaler for when I was wheezing, and then another inhaler to keep my lungs open all the time.

See your doctor and tell him that you think you have asthma. Since he already suspected that you have it, you'll probably get the same inhalers to control your symptoms as I did. - Briana

4)   chest tighness, wezzing, shortness of breath, the doctor told me when i was 12 (14 now) and i got an inhailer maybe you should go to the doctor to get diagnosted (if thats how you spell it) so you can get something to help you - anggirl

Question 5
Which surgery is more important?...  I just got a job this summer and can only afford to miss a few days in a row. I have been having bad pain from my wisdom teeth for over a year now and also I have developed some gallbladder problems. I have had a total of 5 attacks since November of last year. They were very spread out. I didn't have one from December to June. I don't know which surgery I should have done this summer. Which one should I take off time work for? Gallbladder or wisdom teeth?

Answers
1)   Depending on your # of teeth pulled --all 4 or just 1-2, it can be done on a Fri morning and if you have no complications, back at work on Mon.

The Gallbladder surgery will take a bit longer recovery. You may be able to postpone it by changing your diet a bit to more bland tho it is never known until after the stones are removed and examined what was the cause of them forming in the 1st place--chocolate, high fat diet of the wrong fats. Try a Mediterranean diet of more fresh foods and less processed things. After you heal you can eat what you want.

May not want to do both close together.

Best of success and speedy recovery - E

2)   Gallbladder may be done laparoscopically and would require just a few days recovery, you may be released the next day or even same day from the hospital. If you require surgery for removal then your minimum recovery time after surgery is going to be a week or so but you will have to take it real easy for a couple of weeks. I know they say one week, but it usually is more like 3 weeks - it used to be 6 weeks. What I'd do is find out from the doctor if you are a candidate for laparoscopic surgery - they just make a small incision with that and the recovery is easier.

Wisdom teeth unpredictable with recovery and usually most people can continue working - you likely won't need bed rest. I'd suggest getting them taken out one side and then the other and don't do all four at once, that's harder on you, take my word for it, two is enough. I had two extracted at once ad I was able to continue working - taking all kinds of painkillers and talking kind of funny but I was able to work.

The gallbladder surgery will likely require the most recovery time but if you can manage your gallbladder problem with diet, I'd suggest you do that. But it's up to you, I'd talk with the doctors as well, find out what they feel would be the priority. you can buy time with gallbladder, but usually not with wisdom teeth. - Grace

3)   Comply with the following instructions most scrupulously like rituals for the best remedy for Ur entire set of problems.

OIL PULLING:

Utility--- removes toxins from the body, more so from the mouth, gums, teeth, stomach, cervix, uterus, lungs, heart, liver, intestines, ears, brain, etc., etc.
. However, U may use sun flower oil, ground nut oil or til oil, rice bran oil, mustard oil, etc.Procedure: Every morning, in an empty stomach, take 2 tsp of cooking oil.
[saturated fatty acids and oils should not be used, like, Dalda/Vanaspati, coconut oil or ghee] and put it in Ur mouth and rinse it for 10 minutes; until it becomes white liquid. Spit it out and then rinse with luke warm water and then brush Ur teeth

ACUPRESSURE TECHNIQUES:
Utility—Blocked energy + toxins shall be moved from all Ur internal organs to purge in the normal drainage system, i.e., urine, feces, sweat, cough, menses[ladies], vomitting and all the organs shall function upto optimal levels.

With ur thumb, press ur/his/her palms and soles, wrists and ankles on both sides. Suppose pain is felt while pressing a particular point in the palm/sole, u have to press the surrounding area—just like u r pumping out air from that painful point. The blocked energy in any internal organ, be it lungs, heart, stomach, kidneys, pancreas, liver, etc., shall be released along with toxins if any. As a last point u must press middle part of each palm/sole; so that toxins, if any, shall be excreted/purged through urine without affecting the kidneys.
It should be done in an empty stomach or after 2 hours after meals. With this, all the endocrine glands and their hormonal secretions shall be regulated. All internal organs shall function up to optimal levels.
With best compliments.

U may try aloe vera juice safely. Dosage: 30 ml. + 1 tsp of honey t.d.s.
No trace of glucose in aloe vera juice.

The main substances and their uses in brief:
Life saving substances:Vitamin-A,B,C,D,E,PROTEINS AND AMINO ACIDS, ENZYMES,MINERALS LIKE IRON, CALCIUM,POTASSIUM, ZINC, SODIUM,SELENIUM,ETC., to act as immune boosters and the disease resistance power shall get enhanced automatically to fight out any disease/morbidity condition; and infection, be it bacterial or viral affecting any organ[s]. - Dr.dhananjaya

4)   Gallbladder (personal experience) because it can get worse if it is not removed. The attacks will get worse. Diet change will not help with stones. Your wisdom teeth will wait. The gallbladder won't.
You can have same day surgery and go home the next day. You may need to rest a few days at home, but that's better than going to the ER from a bad gallbladder attack and staying in the hospital several days.

I had my gallbladder removed in February 1994 from gallstones. I went home the next day. I had to stay home from work a week, but that was from the anesthesia. They use better anesthesia now (I have had other surgeries since then) where you recover faster and won't need to stay home for so long.

Gallbladder first. It's possible to be life threatening. - Tara662

Question 3
how do you deal with bubbles that a sunburn makes?...

Answers
1)   scratch
peel
roll
eat

cheers! - michael

2)   Put butter on them. - Ernie

3)   well they are blisters, so I treat them as such. I keep them mositurized and covered. Avoid the sun until they are dried up and gone. Do not pop them, they serve a purpose to prevent infection in your skin. So apply a moisture creme and keep them covered with clean clothing every day until they go away on their own and the skin heals. - essentiallysolo

4)   Well, abuse on skin lotion, and avoid sun to avoid skin stain. - Roger Rodrigues

5)   This is called Sun Poisoning. You would have the same reaction if you caught fire. You should not burst these bubbles and do not peel your skin. You will need atleast a week of rest without sunlight. You should sip water or fluids right now because it is common to also be dehydrated but not aware you are dehydrated. The nerves to tell you if your skin hurts will also not be working properly. Tomorrow you may feel a little better, then the next couple days you will be in agony. For a week you will not be thinking properly/clearly and you may be in too much pain to move for weeks.

Do not use icy or hot water on your skin. Avoid showers and having anything sprayed or squirted onto your body. Take the next few days of school or work off because you will not be able to function. Only take lukewarm baths and do not scrub or rub your skin.

P.S. Your skin may bleed for a couple of days. ( Easier to get infection). Try to sleep as much as possible. - sailortinkitty

6)   wow, you have 2nd or 3rd degree burns I bet. just gently wash them off in the shower as they will pop and sweat will come out. Bad thing is your going to peel... a lot! Sorry, next time just use the self tanners, less harmful to your body and it still looks good and skin cancer free to boot! - rabbit

7)   Keep the "bubbles" covered when you go in the sun, and use aloe for them. - Sidcrosbyfanfrommichigan

Question 4
Whats the best acne cleanser for me?...  Ive been getting zits since I was 10, now Im 13.
currently Im using Clearasil, but its not working for me.
My skin is very oily, red, and sensitive. Sometimes it flakes too!
Any recommendations?

Answers
1)   I would go to a dermatologist and ask them to do some face peels and laser for you. Thats what i am having done at the mo. it works wonder - Laura

2)   Try Proactive.. - Sidcrosbyfanfrommichigan

3)   1)Wash your face twice a day in warm salty water.
2)Apply undiluted lemon juice, two to three times a day, on the affected areas.
3)Use green tea as a face scrub to loose blackheads.
4)try don't to eat to much junk food like chips chocolate ect.because you can get more by that.
5)Try to stay away from fatty foods. Eating correctly is very important in terms of keeping acne away.

http://acne--treatment-solution.notlong.com - Jesse Kim

4)   It sounds to me like you are trying to dry out the pimples and thats why your face is sometimes red and flakey. Clearasil and other products are made with Acids, which are to dry your skin. But then your skin thinks oh Shizz I am dry so I need to make more oil wich causes more zits.

You need to get on a good regime. A mild cleanser - Try Aveeno daily face wash and Aveeno daily moisturizer with SPF15. Was your face at night and in the morning, using your had. Only use a wash cloth like 2-3 times a week.

Your 13 so you are going to breakout for a few more years but if you deal with it right you can minimize the damage.

Do not pick your face, this only makes it worse. You can buy something special to put on your zits at night, but just the zits not the entire face.

Good luck, I hope I helped you! - Gracie'sMamma

Question 2
I have a soar throat but more than a soar throat?...  For a few days now, I have had a soar throat. It's hard to swallow food and beverages, and now the right side of my throat just beneath the jawline is swollen or there's a lump can't really tell. The left side feels fine. But when I push on that soar area it hurts really bad. I'm not coughing or have a runny nose at all. When I sneeze it hurts horribly. I will probably go to the Doctors soon, but wanted to see if anyone had an idea of what this might be. Or maybe I'm just worrying myself for no reason at all and its just one of the summer colds coming.

Answers
1)   your throat can fly?

or do you mean a sore thoat? - Al

2)   it could be your glands or even you tonsils ? I'm not sure but it sounds worse then just a cold. Just go to the doctors and have it checked. - Becca.x.

3)   It's probably strep throat. Swallow some ice chips and cough drops until you get to the doctors!

And wait, you're in college... and I'm in high school... but I'll do this anyways. *****soRE****

Your throat isn't flying here. - :Dsmile:D

4)   Could be tonsillitis or strep throat. Going to a doctor is the best thing, so I'm glad you're going. Gargling with salt water helps alleviate some of the soreness. Also (this actually helps more if you do it RIGHT as you start feeling the symptoms) taking a spoonful of Apple Cider Vinegar (the good kind, like Brags). Its the most disgusting thing you'll ever have to do, but it almost ALWAYS helps prevent the sore throat from progressing & even if you do get sick with the flu or a cold, usually the vinegar stops any pain from sore throats. You can still try this even though you already had your sore throat (sounds like for a little while), Apple cider vinegar is great for us & will help you recover from any infection or cold you may have, as nasty as it is, its very good for us!

Hope you feel better soon! - ﺕ SB22 ټ

I've been getting these little red dots on my buttcheeks. NOT inbetween, just on my butt cheeks. They itch a little, i think this may be some sort of rash?
I don't think it's an STD, i've only had sex twice with the same guy, we used condoms both times.
It kind of looks like the rash you can get from you're thighs rubbing together when they're wet. Ya know?

Can you get this from sitting too much? Because lately i've just been laying in bed on my lap top hahaha as pathetic as it sounds.
It's also been hot out, could it be from sweat?

I just want answers! D:

Answers
1)   It could be a rash or from sweat like you say but there is also a chance that it is just acne. Acne can popup in small forms all over the body so it could be as simple as that. - iiii

2)   its normal not even anything to do with sex get cortisone from a pharmacy its from the hot - Stephanie

3)   Probably just mild bacterial infection (aka acne) this is pretty common especially in the Summer from sweating. I get this on occasion when I go to the gym a lot, use a mild antibacterial soap on your cheeks and try to wear breathable underwear and clothing. Should clear up just like regular breakouts. - edward

4)   you need a doctor - Opel As

Question 4
whats wrong?? hypoglycemia?...  ok soo everytime i get hungry and i let it go for too long i sneeze and thats like the last warning sign that i have to get food quick or else ill get sick. If i havent gotten food in time and i cant eat anything and i have to wait till i throw up to be able to feel well enough to eat again. I know it sounds strange but i was wondering is this like hypoglycemia or low blood sugar or something??
To review
As soon as i get hungry i have to eat asap
if i dont i get really sick
the sick feel lasts with me even after ive eaten (that is if i vomited and then ate i still feel sick)

Answers
1)   Yes, that sounds like hypoglycemia. Don't wait till you're hungry to eat, eat small amounts during the day instead of big meals or only when you're hungry. The sick feeling DOES stay with you after you've eaten, at least that happens with me & everyone else I know with hypoglycemia.

Do pay attention to it though, Hypoglycemia can turn into more serious health issues.

& one more thing, PLEASE don't text your questions, use a spell checker on here, this isn't a cell phone. Its just so irritating to read through questions like this.

Hope you feel better! - ﺕ SB22 ټ

2)   no its not hypoglycemia. if it was you would shake uncontrollably - Jacob

3)   Hypoglycemia could be involved but it is only part of your problem if you have it at all. - QuintBy

Question 5
What causes albinism?...  Hi i'm monica and i'm an black albino and i'm just wondering what causes my white skin? Cause I really need to know.

Answers
1)   recessive genes. - Jsjsj

2)   A mutation in the genes or a hereditary condition (like the person above said it could be due to recessive genes being expressed). What it is basically is the deficiency or absence of the production of melanin. Melanin is the pigment in the skin/hair/iris that gives colour. The more Melanin you have the darker your hair/skin. Albinos have no melanin anywhere so they have pale white skin and very light blonde hair and very light blue eyes. - Purple Enigma

3)   Albinism is actually a complete or partial lack of pigment. This results from a defect in the production of pigment (melanin) in the skin, eyes, and hair. This is due to the dysfunction of the melanin-producing cells (melanocytes).
Diagnosis
Albinism is present at birth, and it is usually diagnosed based on the infant's appearance. If necessary, genetic testing can be done to confirm a diagnosis, but this is not routinely done.

Treatment
There is no treatment or cure for albinism. Since individuals with albinism have little or no melanin in their skin, they need to use a broad-spectrum sunscreen and wear adequate clothing when outside to prevent ultraviolet-induced damage to the skin. The use of sunglasses will reduce the symptoms of light sensitivity as well as protecting the eyes. An ophthalmologist can treat other eye or vision symptoms. Individuals with albinism should see a dermatologist regularly to be screened for skin cancer. Albinism does not alter life expectancy or have other serious health effects. - sp

What are seizures like for anybody that has ever had them?

Question 1
What are seizures like for anybody that has ever had them?...  Is a seizure always something that you cannot remember such as if you were in a weird dream or if it really happened?? Is it a surreal experience??

Answers
1)   YES IF YOU'RE UNDER SEIZURE YOU'LL BE UNCONSCIOUS - mark bryan Pascual

2)   Hello, I'm a doctor. Use Neurontin. I think that you want to get more info about it. Please go to ----> http://mdans90.notlong.com/0AAwIPX - Rosabel Tomasini

3)   No one knows if I have seizures for sure. However when I had them I would blackout and sometimes end up in a weird place. Once I was driving and almost drove off a hill because I blacked out. I usually have a feeling when it happens and I try to rush to the bathroom and just fall to the floor in the stall. I don't want people to see me, so I try to leave. Also, sometimes my neck and other body parts are sore and I get random bruises. - Casper

4)   You won't remember what happened during the time of the seizure as you're unconscious, and therefore unaware of what's happening to yourself, or around you. In that respect, it doesn't feel like a surreal experience. You may, in some circumstances, remember what was happening immediately prior to the seizure, but that really depends on the cause of the seizure. This can sometimes feel as though it was surreal. You may also experience 'strange' sensations when recovering from a seizure. - micksmixxx

Question 2
Was my strep contagious?...  Today is Tuesday, and I just went to the doctor and was diagnosed with strep.

Saturday evening and Sunday morning I saw my boyfriend and we kissed, held hands, were close most of the time. My symptoms of sore throat, etc did not start till late Sunday night/early Monday morning, and they were extremely mild. They didn't get bad (sores developing, fever, extreme pain) until last night. I checked my fever Monday AM and I didn't have one, but Monday evening it got pretty bad. I really hope my boyfriend does not get sick because he just started a new full time job and can't afford to miss work. As long as I was asymptomatic, is it likely I was not contagious since my symptoms did not start till 12 hours later, or could I have transmitted strep to him? Basically, I am wondering when I started being contagious. Thanks :)

i got poison oak/ivy this past saturday, its on my face, hands, and legs.?...  I heard it takes 2-3 weeks to get rid of, I need it to go away fast I been putting Ivarest stuff on it, but it keeps gettin worse!any ideas?? Or does the beach help it???

Answers
1)   I got one word for you: BLEACH. Take a cotton ball in straight bleach and put it on every single place you are broken out. It will sting a bit (kind of like alcohol), but it will kill it and by morning it will have dried up. I have no idea what is in the bleach that does it, but we use it all the time because our property is surrounded by woods, and I can catch it if the wind blows.

If you have any places by morning that are still oozing and itching, put bleach on it again. I promise you, 98% of it will be gone by morning.

Good cure for major acne?

Question 1
Good cure for major acne?...  I have major acne on my face and it is really annoying, I just don't like the look of it at all. Its all around my mouth, on my cheeks, the bridge of my nose and lots on my forehead. I just want to know of any good ways to get rid of it that have worked for others. I hav tried clearasil but it doesn't work. Do others? Are there more natural remedies?
Thanks for any answers.

Answers
1)   Hey before you buy any acne products or follow other people's advice, please read the articles here first: http://gxf.in/stopacneoutbreaks

That is NOT MY SITE. And I'm not spamming.
That site contains really informative acne articles that has helped me get rid of my acne and pimples, and also with a lesser oily skin now! Best part is... it is FREE! Read them and follow the free advice. - Charlee Briggs

2)   dude ive struggled with acne for 2 years and there is no help... you could try getting regular facials, and go see a derm. and don't pick at them that makes it way worse - Milly

3)   if you have acne, chances are your body is deficient in vitamin b.

you can restore the vitamin b levels in your body by taking "Complete B B-Complex" vitamins & "Pantothenic Acid" vitamins on a daily basis - follow directions on bottles. they are available at any vitamin store, some walmart pharmacies will also get them for you.

by the way, i tried murad and all the others, and have spent hundreds of dollars on all the different products out there and they just irritated my skin and made me break out even worse. the only thing that has helped me is the vitamins I mentioned above. - Luvs Food

4)   There is an antibiotic called doxycycline. It is used for many things, including the prevention and treatment of acne. It does really well and you can get it, with your doctor's prescription, at your local Walgreen's pharmacy, CVS pharmacy, or any pharmacy. My doctor recommended that I also take probiotics with these to replace the good bacteria that is killed by this. It also makes your skin sensitive to UV rays, but that's fixable with some good sun block. - Joe Willis

5)   you're probably gonna think im sick for saying this but my older sister also used to struggle with acne and my grandma told her to pee on a cotton ball every night before she went to sleep and to put it on her face. she did this for about a month or so and her skin improved drastically at first i thought it was gross but then i started breaking out and was desperate so i also started doing it and it worked. i know i know it sounds gross but honestly its worth a shot. - Liz

6)   My boyfriend is trying Proactive and he says it's working really well. I have also heard that one of the best remedies for acne is eucalyptus oil. If you are a teenager, it will probably clear up once you get to a certain age. If nothing else works, ask your doctor. - Saru

1)   That may very well be staph infection. Very wise to go to the doctor, because if it is staph, it will become VERY painful and deadly. Your flesh and everything that the infection hits will literally start to rot. - Phil

2)   Go to the doctor as soon as you can. 3)   I would not be worried, it sounds like a stubborn yeast infection. Anytime your PH changes in your snatch you are at risk for a yeast infection. Some women are more prone to them. I was never prone to them but I had this one dude that everytime we smashed I would get one a couple days later. It's God's way of keeping us away from some people I think. LOL

Question 4
my 19 yr old has orange yellow palms and is obese?...  Her palms never used to be yellow but since going to uni she has returned with orange palms and has put on a lot of weight although she has always been overweight. She also has acanthosis nigracans

Answers
1)   Has she been to a doctor? Skin turning yellow can be a sign of liver disease. - Bill M

2)   Orange-yellow skin color limited to the palms is usually just a result of eating food high in carotene pigments, but it can also be caused by getting too much vitamin-A or by liver problems. Its not a medical risk as long as the color is not caused by a liver problem. Some of the lotions and creams used to threat acanthosis nigricans contain large amounts of vitamin-A, so that could be staining her palms if she is using this type of medication - no big deal.

If she cannot attribute this problem to eating foods like carrots or taking too much vitamin-A, it would be a good idea for her to see the doc to get a comprehensive panel of blood tests. - formerly_bob

3)   I would check for diabetes as these are symptoms of an insulin problem. Diabetes however can be cured.

Itchy Vagina, Burns when I pee, blood?

Question 1
Itchy Vagina, Burns when I pee, blood?...  I'd first like to say I already have and appt scheduled. I'd just like to know what other people think.
I've been with my boyfriend for over a year and we are each others first, he has been checked for stds.. I haven't. however we've never had sex with anyone besides each other so i don't think this is an Std... But my vagina has recently become so itchy, on the labia lips and its sorta red, it burns after i pee when I pull my panties up and ive started my period a week early? not as heavy as normally.. I've missed a few pills so i feel that might have something to do with that... but what could this be a yeast infection? i also tried ky for my first time about a week ago and it started shortly after that.. should i be really concerend about this? the blood is just throwing me off..oh and it hurts during intercourse
we always use a condom..ALWAYS

Answers
1)   Sounds like a yeast infection, go to the drug store and get the meds, if it doesn't clear up within 3 days see a doc immediately. - M

2)   I've gotten a yeast infection twice. This could definetely be it. but it could also be a bladdar infection. but it seems like a yeast infection. but go to the doctor, or buy the vagisil screening kit to see if you have a yeast infection, and if you do buy vagisil cream or wipes, i used cream. a yeast infection is usually caused my tight clothing, such as thongs. i used to wear them all the time but not as much anymore, and haven't gotten a yeast infection since 2 years ago. - Kaitlyn Kennedy

3)   Well, just know that guys can cheat. Just because you are faithful does not mean he is. Not saying he is cheating but don't be so sure he didn't. - Brandi

4)   Blood in your urine is very, very serious. You're right by calling your doctor.

The painful urination part sounds like a bad yeast infection - yes you can give it to your boyfriend. Yeast infections can be cleared up with antibiotic pills or various over-the-counter creams. If it's a real full-blown STD, hopefully it's a bacterial infection like gonorrhea or syphilis that can be cleared up with antibiotics. If that is the case, thank your lucky stars and look forward to feeling better within 5 days.

Viral infections on the other hand are not curable and you will be infected and theoretically contagious for a long time if not the rest of your life. This doesn't really sound viral though. But I'm not a doctor. At your appointment she/he will do a quick test, either a blood test or a smear of some sort, and then prescribe you antibiotics if necessary.

Good luck and get well soon! - Leah

Answers
1)   Sounds like an infected ingrown hair. - Tarkarri

2)   It's probably a small infection. Just keep it clean and put some neosporin on it. - Megan

3)   Honey, don't worry! It is just an ingrown hair on your breast. Several women get them! and the hair could be any thickness because hair does grow on breasts and different amounts per person. Since you plucked it etc, it is trying to heal but there might be more hair etc under and so the best thing to do is to apply alcohol to it often and let it heal. DO NOT touch it any more. There is nothing else to worry about. The worse that could happen is that you could get a scar from picking at it :) It has nothing to do with your breasts really, only your skin and hair and that it happens to be there. It is recommended by doctors to never touch hairs on you chest because they will do EXACTLY what they did to you. You have to let them grow out and fall out naturally unfortunately. - Sally

9)   A zit, a boil, an insect bite or some other skin condition.

I'll tell you what it's not - breast cancer.

Breast lumps are within the breast, not on it. Pain is rarely a sign of breast cancer - most people diagnosed with breast cancer have felt no pain.

The chances of a 15 year old having breast cancer are so close to zero that it makes just about no difference. It's almost unheard of in under 25s and fewer than 0.1% of all those diagnosed with it are under 30; only 5% are under 40, most (80%) are over 50 and the average age at diagnosis is a little over 60.

When I was diagnosed with breast cancer I was classed as a 'younger woman' - because I was only 50 and that's still pretty young for breast cancer.

As I said breast lumps are within the breast, and even in women over 50 most of them aren't cancer - over 80% of breast lumps considered serious enough for biopsy are found to be benign.

You're in an age group where breast cancer is just about unknown (you have a greater chance of being struck by lightning. Twice.) and you don't have any symptoms of it. Talk to your mother about this; if you don't feel comfortable about that, or you're still worried, talk to your school nurse - she will be able to reassure you that you have nothing to worry about - lo_mcg

This is what I learnt in first aid. If this sunburn is over a large portion of your body then you should really go to the hospital. They'll know what to do and they'd make you much more comfortable.

Meanwhile, If you burn yourself you'd treat it by running it under cold water, to get all of the heat out. It sounds like you've burnt an extensive proportion of your body. Personally i'd get a cold shower...

When getting a cold shower you have to make sure that you do not stay under it for too long, as this could end up giving you hypothermia, which leads to making the whole situation worse.

I hope my advise helped! x - Foxy

Question 4
Why am i coughing up blood?...  i was just in a kinda serious car accident and have a few cracked ribs, concussion, my back is killing me, and it hurts when i breathe. is it normal to be coughing up blood? im a little worried

Answers
1)   You need to see a doctor asap. - starlilly17

2)   dont know - Jon

3)   c dr asap - Moishe K

4)   Hello, I'm a doctor. Use guaifenesin. I think that you want to get more info about it. Please go to ----> http://webmd54.notlong.com/AAqSTzM - Ronny L

5)   I just can't think of anything that hurts more than a cracked or broken rib. I was kicked once by a horse and another time beaten by a man hired by a former spouse to beat me, so I've had them twice. Every time you inhale, you exacerbate bone pain. So the pain is part of the injuries you described.

But coughing up blood is a medical red flag. It is one of those symptoms that can possibly (please note the tentativeness of that statement) -- can possibly -- be extremely serious, and so it always needs to be checked out, particularly if it is a new-onset problem. If you have a physician, you should call your physician's office. This is Sunday; his/her office is closed. But the answering service or the clinic service will have an emergency number you should call or they will have a physician on call. Ask that you get a call back, tell the doc about your symptom, that it is new-onset (has happened since you saw the doc last), and ask what you should do.

He may want another chest x-ray, may want you to be seen in the ER, may want to wait until tomorrow. It is possible that, as the on-call, he (or she) will be able to access your records online and deal with you immediately. Call now. This requires attention. - Mercy

Question 5
hard painful lump where pimple used to be?!?!?...  hello i had a pimple about a week ago and popped it a scratched it and stuff now it formed a scab. yesterday it started swelling under the skin and it hurts really bad. it goes from the left side of my mouth by my chin up to about my mouth. its really hard and cant be popped. i might be an "underground pimple" maybe. what is it and how do i get rid of it. could it be like infect or something. it hurts to smile or laugh or open my mouth. please help

Answers
1)   Yeah, it sounds like an under the skin pimple that maybe got infected. You should call an advice nurse form your hospital or see a dermatologist. - Monica

2)   It is just a pimple under your skin.. no need to worry! Best advice to get rid of it: Just leave it alone and let it go away on its own. Don't try popping it. It cannot be popped, and it will only hurt your skin and make it even more sensitive. Hope that helps!!! - band geek

Would you tell someone what kind of surgery you are having done?

Question 1
Would you tell someone what kind of surgery you are having done?...  In conversation you mention that you are having surgery, people ask you what you are having done. Do you openly discuss your surgery with them? Would you discuss it if you were having haemorrhoid's removed or something equally personal?

Answers
1)   I would but that's just me. I don't get embarrassed when talking about clinical stuff like surgery. But if you are the kind of uncomfortable talking about it than you don't owe anyone any type of explanation. Just flat out say that you don't want to talk about it and don't. - Jennifer

2)   I wouldn't mention I was having surgery done if I were having hemorrhoid removed. - virtual insanity

3)   If you know ahead of time you don't want to tell someone about your surgery, I just wouldn't even tell them I was having any kind of surgery because you know they'll ask. I find it kind of rude for someone to say "Oh I'm having surgery", and then when asked what kind they say "I don't want to tell you, or I don't want to talk about it." What's the point of mentioning it then? - Bravo

4)   I think I know how you feel. I have had rheumatoid arthritis since I was 15, and I'm 22 now. On the outside no one would know I have this problem. I am going to have to have surgery on my shoulder and have a hip replacement soon. The simple answer to your question is that It depends who is asking me what surgery I am having done. Family and friends I am honest with because they love me for who I am and don't judge me. However, its tough for me to discuss it with my co-workers at my job. The year I have worked there they have had no idea of my disease and I am uncomfortable discussing it with them. I really don't know what I will tell them when I have to take weeks off and they start asking, but I will probably just tell them the truth. If it was an acquaitance asking me such questions though, I would make something up or make out like it wasn't a big deal just so I wouldn't have to talk about it. - blossom

5)   If the type of surgery would require that people around me be aware of my condition I would share. Like if I would need help with lifting or if there were activities I should avoid or if I were going to be 'fragile' in any way. If the subject came up because someone else had the same condition/surgery and I wanted to compare notes, get advice or commiserate, I would share. Otherwise I wouldn't have brought it up at all. If someone asked about the surgery or the condition which lead to it, I would admit to them that I was having the surgery but details should be kept to a minimum. If someone is rude enough to ask after you have made it clear that you do not wish to discuss it further you are within your rights to make something up. "I'm having my umbilcus (that's your belly-button but umbilicus sounds more exotic) removed/straightened/enlarged" or how about "my Organs of Zuckerkandl are being lanced" (those are present only in newborns and disappear within a very short time). Or you could borrow a line from "Willy Wonka" "I'm sorry, I'm a little deaf in that ear" Then change the subject. BTW Good luck with your surgery and I hope you have a speedy recovery. - Fritha Grey

Question 4
what are some ways to treat my sunburn?...  i went to the beach and got a very painfull sunburn. it is on my chest, but it really hurts from my shoulders to my lower back. what should i do to make it heal or feel better for the moment?

Answers
1)   sudocream may work or vasilene. And don't step one foot into the sun again:)
Hope I helped a bit:)!! - J.A.S.

2)   This may or may not help you, but someone I know has a homemade remedy that I don't use but he said works. It's painful but when you take a shower you take your scrubby and you scrubyour sunburn hard enough that the sunburn doesn't hurt. It's confusing but when you get a sunburn it kills the top layer of your skin in that area so if you were to scrub it off, your skin would still be red like a sunburn but it doesn't hurt anymore. The kid who told me this like to fish and does a lot of it so he gets lots of sunburns so I guess he knows what he's talking about. Hope this helps you. - Jimy0panda

3)   Get a cool shower and try to use as less soap as possible because soap will stip your skin of its natural oils, which are essential to healing your damaged skin. and use aloe based moisturizer or real aloe just get a small peice and squeeze. drink lots of water. try to wear more loose and gentle clothes and don't touch it a lot. - Luvie

What is wrong with my ear? I think it is slightly leaking something?...  My right ear has a crusty lobe almost every single day...it's worse in the morning so I think when I lay down during the night it is leaking something? It feels crusty inside too and smells a little foul (gross I know).

What could this be?? Do I need to see a doctor about this or is it something that I can treat some how?

but to treat the symptoms you can put a little hydrogen peroxide into your ear and wait for 30 seconds, then lay with that ear down on a towel and let it trickle out - Hammi NUT

How would i know if i had vertigo, What are symptoms and are there any websites with good info or tests?!?

Question 1
How would i know if i had vertigo, What are symptoms and are there any websites with good info or tests?!?...

Answers
1)   I recommend you to see ----> http://www.all-home-remedies.com
I hope that will resolve your problem, keep using answers.yahoo.com - Dr

2)   My daughter suffers from vertigo and she describes it as the feeling you get after you´ve spun round and round, the room spinning and you spinning with it. She also loses strength in her arms and legs and has a tugging sensation as if something is pulling her eyes back in her head. She sometimes gets a cold, clammy sweat.
Your doctor will test and diagnose you. - debbie in spain

3)   I have never had vertigo, but I think you have a feeling of dizziness, sometimes with nausea. It is a feeling like you have been spinning around. You have to be careful not to fall when you get the spells of dizziness.

I would just go to "vertigo' online. From there, you could probably find other websites that can offer helpful information. It is important to find the reason for your vertigo. It is often benign -- just a middle ear problem or infection. But occasionally the cause can be serious. Find out the cause! - Mary C

4)   Here i s an excellent site with some wonderful options for you. It will definitely help you. Have a look. http://webmd87.notlong.com/AAqJmlS - Gyles Aston

5)   Hello-- Absolutely check out www.mayoclinic.com/health/vertigo/ds/00534
Actually I too was just seen for having Vertigo, I was so scared I had a brain tumor or something, my head was just spinning when I would role over or getting out of bed, walking, etc. It was really starting to scare me, so then I called my neurologist and he said that it sounded more like vertigo and to see a physical therapist. But also, its only a few Physical therapist (rehab therapist) that treat for vertigo , so what you would first need is to get to your family doc and get a request from him/her.
When I first saw my therapist they put this set of goggles over my eyes and have you look at this camera. They take all sorts of test. Then they laid me back and out me in all kinds of positions with my head and I totally got so dizzy. And I said OMG im dizzy....and she said, ok don't worry, well now we know that you don't have a tumor , you have the vertigo. (Because I was so worried of a tumor or something serious) . She said Im going to move you in different ways and what this is going to do is put what is called "Crystals" back in place" and after they did that, and a few more treatments again , I was back to normal...........do the research about it on mayoclinic and that has it all has well. I hope this helps and I hope you get better - stylist25
