Another question about hiv?

Question 1
Another question about hiv?...  This is my second and last question about hiv, i said before that i went to the GUM clinic and they said i was 100% clean, they took tests including Blood do you think that HIV would of showed up on a STD test?

Answers
1)   I think you gots it. - NeverShoutKristy(:

2)   I think you have to specifically ask them to do an HIV test . - Miss*Kris

3)   what you have HIV ?? - Jane

4)   if you consented, in writing, for them to test for HIV, then you are clean. But they don't test for HIV without written consent from the patient. If you did not sign a release for HIV testing, then you still don't know whether or not you have it. It doesn't just "show up" in other tests for std, you have to specifically ask for the HIV test. - essentiallysolo

5)   HIV is an STD. So yes if you did have a blood test the STD would show up. if your really worried that you have HIV you should get another test. - mark v

6)   It takes months to figure out if a person has HIV. So if you went and they told you that you were clean automatically, then you need to get tested specifically for HIV. - Emma

7)   No, HIV does not show up on a STD test. It is a completely separate test. If you want to be tested then go back and ask for an HIV test. There are 3 different kinds. The rapid test is a mouth swab that comes back in 20 minutes. The other two are take longer and can be more accurate. - Starkissed

Question 2
is cilica gel a poison? if anybody eat it what should do? And what kind of problem it bring after eating?...  my youngest doughter's eaten some cilica gel just few minute before...

Answers
1)   call poison control, just dial the operator and they will connect you. - essentiallysolo

2)   Consuming the desired food is crucial for your health. You can try supplementing your diet with acai berry, it is not solely a widely tested and acknowledged weight loss compound, it is a superfood too. There is a risk free trial on offer at http://jiners.bigweightlossplan.info I've been using it for 2 weeks now and it is definately having an effect!! - Shane

3)   Silica is not poisonous and it doesn't react with anything. It typically doesn't cause any effects, but it might cause diarrhea. Some of the gel packs also contain other chemical additives that are poisonous, but a small gel pack does not have enough chemical to be dangerous unless a person is unusually sensitive to one of the additives. - formerly_bob

4)   Call your daughter's pediatrician or the poison control center, both places can tell what's best to do now. I wouldn't wait, you don't say what amount she had but this is not meant to be eaten by anyone. You may have to give her epicac (spelling? It's to induce vomitting) but check with her doctor first to see if that is needed. If she ingested a larger amount they may want to pump her stomach of it.
If they say to use epicac then check with the local pharmacy as they can show you where that is at and answer any question of how much to give to a child your daughter's age and what to expect in using it. - tj

5)   call the poison control center right away! - Greg

6)   Actually, it's not a poison.

It's only labeled Do Not Eat because it's not a food.

It won't hurt you, but I wouldn't recommend eating it. - cookiemuncher

Question 5
i had leg surgery for occlusive aortic disease, where they put in a sent, why are my legs still numb?...  97 % blockage that feed your legs, the surgery was in the fall, and i have numbness still and i reatain fluids. My ankles swell. How long is that all going to take to heal, or should i be calling my surgeon?

Answers
1)   Call your doctor, you could have an infection. - BrittanyKaye(:

2)   I would advise that you call your surgeon.
It was a stent that was placed. They look like the spring that you find in an ink-pen. It keeps the space in the center of a tube open, that tube being your artery. I imagine that all of your arteries are affected by this disease, and the stent was place in a particularly bad part. It may be that your surgery was successful, and what symptoms that you have now are from other damaged arteries that are resisting proper blood flow.
It may also be that scar tissue has formed at the site of the stent. This is a problem with stents. You may have heard of medicated stents. They have a chemical on them that decreases the likelyhood of a bloodclot forming and the development of scar tissue. The medicated stents are very expensive and may not have been used. Your surgeon may need to take that one out and put into your artery a medicated one.
There are other possibilities too, like inflammation of the lining of the arteries, or infection.
Call your surgeon. - LLV

3)   First, if you have questions about anything you should call the number given to you at the time of your surgery. It will either be the surgeon or the surgery team. The numbness could be on account of a cut nerve and that can take 6 months to a year to start feeling again, or it may even be never. The swelling is concerning but I don't know how much or what vein was taken, if you had a large section of vein removed for the surgery then that may account for some of the swelling. Also if they used a vein for the surgery you may have a few valves left and that could be serious.
All in all, call, get seen, get peace of mind. - KnightReN
