Question 2
Help!! Im 25 and have acne that wont go away!!!!!!?...  I'm 25/F.Ive had acne since I was 12.I have it on my face chest & back.nothing works. I have tried benzaclin, differin, proactiv, birth control, antibiotics, and just about everything else over the counter and under the counter but accutane. The acne I get is mostly on my chin and forehead, chest and back. And is usually small hard red bumps and big whiteheads. My regimine at the moment, as instructed by my dermotologist is: Wash face with light cleanser in the morning and night. apply benzaclin at night before bed and oil-free lotion for the dryness in the morning. Its so frustrating because i feel im doing everything right, not washing my face too often or abusing products, keeping my hair clean, washing my pillows and sheets, using non perfumed detergent..... I'm a really pretty girl, but I have never had a moment to shine without acne. SOmeone with a similar experience, PLEASE HELP!!!!!

Answers
1)   dont pick at it - aboutthismac

2)   Stop being so dirty and greasy. Spread mayonaisse all over the problem areas and smurf blood will also work well. If nothing works youll have to live your life as an ugly jew - Gary

3)   I'm 29 years old and still has problems with acne. I used everything you named above, and yet I still have it. At least it's not as severe as it use to be. My routine is to wash my face in the morning with Neutrogena grapefruit facial scrub, then I apply Ambi fade cream with sunscreen to help fade my blemishes, everything I use is oil free and non-comeogenic. At night, I remove my make up and wash my face, I use a acne and blemish fighting mask once a week. Right now, I'm looking into using Murad acne control system seen on tv. I know your struggle, you're not alone. - onelove

4)   Look into this website, they have some excellent treatments for your problem:

5)   I'm 12 and have had this problem since I was 7, believe it or not. I've looked into hundreds or alternative remedies, and I have found several that work. Try spreading tea tree (alternifolia) oil over the problem areas every night for a few weeks. I used this in conjunction with Burt's Bees wild lettuce toner and it worked almost instantly. The oil cleared up my skin while the toner tightened pores and prevented more breakouts. Wild lettuce toner is also good for rosacea. ;)
If it's a hormonal imbalance than this won't work. For hormones try taking the directed dosage (30 drops in a glass of water) of Chaste Tree berry oil. This sort's out hormones, flushes out what you don't need and gives you what you do (it sounds like a hormonal imbalance at your age). You should notice a difference within a few days.
Chaste Tree berry also comes in highly concentrated capsules, so you can take one or two of these every night. You won't have such a noticeable difference, unfortunately, and I do believe it's more expensive.
Hope this helps! - Mary Lynn S

6)   I used to get body acne a long time ago, then I learned to exfoliate and never broke out again on my body. Buy exfoliating body scrubs/bodywashes. They make a huge difference. I always get mild acne on my face during that time of the month, so I know how frustrating it can be. Try St. Ives Apricot Scrub (its really cheap) at least once a week. I use Noxema (in the blue jar) and follow with Witch Hazel on a cotton ball. Don't forget to moisturize! Also don't wear makeup. Drink plenty of water and take a multivitamin. I use Women's One A Day and A product from GNC called Hair Skin And Nails. Good Luck! Hope I helped. - Sweetheart

7)   Acne Home Cures

Acne breakouts frequently occur on the face, neck, chest and shoulders where oil glands concentrate just beneath the skin's surface. Acne pimples may occur at any age but they are most common during adolescence when fluctuating hormones cause rapid skin cell reproduction that may result in clogged pores and hair follicles. According to the Mayo Clinic, dead skin cells and body oil (sebum), are responsible for the blockage. Home cures may help cure some types of acne breakouts.

Cleanse Gently
Acne sufferers face a barrage of advertisements for facial and body scrubs that will deep clean pores and prevent future acne breakouts but these products may exacerbate the problem. Because acne results from clogged pores, an exfoliating scrub may increase the problem by irritating the skin and causing inflammation, further restricting the pores. If you want to use a scrub, sprinkle a little table salt on a wet washcloth and massage your face very lightly. The salt will reduce surface swelling.

Shampoo
Your scalp produces oil just like the rest of your body but your hair often traps the oil on your skin. The result is pimples that form along the forehead, the sides of the face, the neck and on the shoulders (depending upon hair length). If your hair is oily, shampoo daily with a gentle shampoo and pull long hair up into a ponytail to keep it off your neck and back.

Apple Cider Vinegar
Home Remedies suggests using inexpensive apple cider vinegar to treat acne prone skin. Add ¼-cup of vinegar to ¾-cup of purified water and store in a dark bottle. Use cotton balls to dab the solution liberally onto your skin, avoiding your eyes and allow it to remain on the skin for up to 15 minutes before rinsing.

Nighttime Treatments
The best time to apply acne home cures is before you go to bed to allow them plenty of time to work. Dab tea tree oil sparingly to pimples before bedtime or try a little dab of plain white toothpaste. Hemorrhoid ointments, such as Preparation H, may reduce acne swelling as well. You can also apply a little egg white with a cotton swab to individual pimples before going to sleep. Cover your pillow with a towel for protection.

Put It On Ice
For large pimples with a lot of redness, try holding a cube of ice wrapped in a paper towel directly on the pimple for 10 minutes before you go to bed. The cold temperature discourages swelling and one treatment may be all that's needed to reduce the size and appearance of a new pimple by morning.

Pop with Care
When a pimple engorges with pus, it's better to carefully pop it rather than allow the pressure of the infection to cause more pain and swelling. Don't attempt to pop a pimple that does not have a distinct pus pocket visible. Wash your hands and skin thoroughly with soap and water and apply a warm washcloth to the pimple for 5 minutes before carefully popping. Immediately apply the ice cube treatment for 10 minutes to reduce swelling.

Diet
Although there is no definitive single food that triggers an acne flare-up in everyone, MotherNature.com suggests that foods high in iodides may aggravate acne in those who are already susceptible to frequent breakouts. Foods high in iodides include, butter, whole milk, yogurt, cheddar cheese, sour cream and some meat products, especially beef liver and turkey. Asparagus and broccoli are also high in iodides.

Question 3
why would u wear a medical mask? is it to prevent getting sick? or 2 protect others from being sick?or both?...

Answers
1)   could be both. Some people have weaker immune systems and can't fight off a common cold like most of us can. So when they go to crowded places they wear masks to help prevent them from "catching" anything that may harm them. - Anna

2)   In Japan they do it for both reasons, its funny everyone wears masks in the winter time in Japan, they are so polite - Jorge Marx

3)   wearing a mask will help to prevent someone who is already ill from spreading their illness to others. It will not protect anyone healthy from getting a disease however. - essentiallysolo

4)   It is both. The mask keeps many of your germs from spreading, and also filters out some of the germs that other people may throw your way. The filtering power of masks is very limited, and most viruses are small enough to easily get through the mask. So they have limited value. - Jim L

5)   Both actually. In the medical field to protect u from your patents and your patents from what u may have gotten from someone else. I've seen the swine flu folks walking around wearing them in public, thats purely for theirselves to try and not catch it. I know one person with tb that wears it around anyone so he doesn't spread it. It can really be all 3 answers, depending on the person wearing it really. - Cattales

Question 4
Postmortem questions?...  I'll get straight to the point. My partners father was found on the floor of his home. His face was black. We don't know how long he was there but found he had attended an appointment 10 days earlier. After an initial postmortem, the coroner called us to say that they were unsure of the cause of death. When asked how long he may have been there for, the coroner advised that there was no way of knowing, people only find that out on tv. The coroner stated that they can release the body as they have no more need for it and are sending blood and urine samples away to be tested. They are issuing a death certificate with an open cause of death so that the funeral can be arranged and companies can be notified etc. My partners father was a big drinker and did not eat well, if at all. We imagine that this is somehow the cause, liver problems or something. My questions are; 1) Can approximate time of death be established? 2) Why was his face black? (gangrene?) and 3) Why can cause of death not be found from the initial postmortem. Surely this is a common situation for coroners/pathologists.
Thank you for any answers that can help.
Sorry, just to add, he was found on his back not his front and he didn't take any pills or any discription, prescription or otherwise.
Thanks

1)   Consuming the correct food is important for your wellbeing. You can try supplementing your diet with acai berry, it's not solely a widely tested and acknowledged weight loss product, it's a superfood too. There is a risk free trial available at http://lomard.myhomediet.info I have been taking it for 3 weeks now and it is definately having an effect!! - Garret

2)   the coroner was right, you do watch too much tv. Time of death is impossible to discover accurately, His face was "black" because he was likely on the floor face down which means gravity pulled the blood to that area after death, it's called post mortem lividity. Autopsies are not exact, they are not always an easy way to find cause of death, the lab work will likely give more information when it comes back. - essentiallysolo

3)   I would think an approximate time could be established. If he was face down when they found him then that was why his face was black , all the blood pooled to the part of the body touching the floor the lowest part of the body. If he had liver damage that would have shown in the initial postmortem. They are leaving the cause of death open pending toxicology reports which can take a few weeks. He may have died from alcohol poisoning or a combination of pills and alcohol. Both of which could have just stopped him from breathing. I hope I have helped a little - Arlene

4)   Answer to yr qns -

1. Yes. Unless the death occur more than 48 hrs, then prediction is less accurate.

2. I'd guess poisoning, intended and accidental. This include accidental overdose of some medications. I don't think it's gangrene. Gangrene means tissue death such as in diabetic infected foot. Another possibility is Plague, which cause the whole body to be "black", not just the faace. But this is rare.

3. Sorry i can't answer this question as i didn't do the autopsy. Sometimes the reason can just be "not conclusive", pending lab test result eg for analysis of poison substance.

If foul play and criminal cause is excluded, and the deceased is old aged with multiple medical problems, most pathologist will just sign up. - Liza
