Question 2
A boil that wont heal?...  I had a boil and it drained so the pain went away. I thought after it drained it would heal but it hasn't. I change the dressing on it all the time and its still leaking blood and pus. So although its painless and seems to be draining it just doesn't heal. It has been nearly a month now. It obviously drained fully as there is no pain but I am sure this isn't normal any ideas?

Answers
1)   It probably isn't healed if it's still draining. See a doctor before it's infected. The doctor may put a drain in it to keep it open to complete the draining process. - Patricia M

2)   If it is still leaking pus, you still have an infection, and as long as you have the infection, it won't clear up. You need to see a physician, who may want to culture the wound to determine what organism is causing the infection. Because this wound is open, is of comparatively long duration, and because it's possible the infecting agent could be dangerous or equally, that you may have an underlying condition of which you are unaware but that is preventing the wound from healing, it really is critical that you get to a physician as soon as possible. No kidding. As soon as possible. - Mary c

3)   Check whether you have diabetes. Call for an appointment with your health care provider if furuncles do not heal with home treatment within 1 week. Oral antistaphylococcal antibiotics treatment appears necessary. - gangadharan nair

4)   Is the boil in a place where it is being aggravated/chaffing IE between your legs? This would slow down the healing process.

Unfortunately without an examination by a qualified practitioner you are not going to have peace of mind. Hop by your docs or nurse and let them sort this out for you..you will feel SOO much better. - Caroline M

5)   This needs to be seen by a Dr.asap,you could develop a nasty infection if you don't get it treated right away,they can give you some antibiotics to aide in the healing of it. - Tomb Raider

3)   Back in the hippie days those warts went around all over the place. What happens is you are not aware in the height of passion that she touched you or you touched yourself and then touched her.

4)   I agree that you should tell her so she can decide if the risk is worth it. The risk will be become less and less over time and as infection comes from skin-to-skin transmission you may be able to *lessen* but no eliminate the risk to her. If you are in otherwise good health, you immune system will most likely suppress the virus in two years or less. However, as a bi-sexual man you are also at higher risk for HIV infection and, bi-sexual or not, the more sexual partners you have the more likely there will be other infections. If you have other infections your immune system may not be able to keep the HPV virus down (suppressed). - Al LeGator

Question 4
what side effects are there when you have the swine flu jab?...  i am having the swine flu jab what side effects are there.
thanks

Answers
1)   It’s expected that side effects for the H1N1 flu vaccine shot will be much like the ones experienced when getting a seasonal influenza vaccine shot. For the shot form of the vaccine, the side effects can include the following mild symptoms:

* Headache
* Fatigue for several days after
* Fever
* Muscle aches
* Nausea
* Redness, soreness, swelling or tenderness near injection site
* Fainting (mainly with teens)

I had my jab about a week ago, I had some aching pain in my arm for 2 days or so, but I think it was from the injection itself, not the vaccine. - Peter

2)   sore arm and flu like symptoms- fever, aches, sore throat etc. These usually occur within 12-24 hours of getting the vaccine and subside in a day or two. Some people are totally fine though and have no side effects. - buttercup

3)   AIDS. - Schwarts

4)   The first answer is correct.
There has been a case where an individual who turned out to be allergic to the vaccine developed muscular dystrophy. They lost control of their leg muscles and could only walk backwards, as their muscles would not allow them to walk forwards.
There is also a very small chance that you may develop the actual influenza. But this chance is minuscule. - `Faith.
