Head Lice. Tried everything, Any home remedies?

Question 1
Head Lice. Tried everything, Any home remedies?...  My sisters have had head lice for awhile now and the shampoo isn't working. Olive Oil helps pulls the eggs out but not much. Have tried coconut oil and that helped temporarily but still not all. Any other suggestions?
i read that you dont have to treat house because most likely, a bug or nit cant survive for more than 24 hours without blood

Answers
1)   this sounds gross but rub a generous amount of mayo in your hair. it kills all the lice then you just gotta pick them out. - Allie

2)   Dawn dish washing liquid mixed with vinegar works great. mix about half and half and pour on hair and let set for about 30 min. If you have sensitive skin then just plain old EXTRA VIRGIN olive oil soaked on head for 30-45 min. That will suffocate the bugs and loosen any eggs so you can comb them right out. Metal lice comes are the best to use. Hope this helps. - big mom

3)   when you get head lice your also supposed to clean ALL and i mean ALL of your bedding, couch pillows, extra blankets...everything because if you dont it WILL keep coming back.

they make sprays for carpets and couches and things like that...you can buy at walmart. - e.davenport

Question 3
I got sick the last two times I ate shellfish. Am I allergic?...  When I was a kid i would love to eat shrimp (from the homestead along highway 2 in north Idaho) but would get sick vomiting the few times i ate it. I stayed away from shrimp and shell fish as well as crab for about 20 years. when I was 26 I had some clam chowder for the first time that I can remember and again I was throwing up and had diarrhea for two days. It seemed like food poisoning rather than the typical shellfish allergy of hives and what not. I have never had an allergy test to check. The Homestead was not a gourmet place and a friend told me he had got sick from the place that I had the clam chowder. Is this typical of an allergy or just bad luck that i got food poisoning. Should I just clear my weekend and give it another shot?

Answers
1)   buddy dont eat it it tastes bad and scews ur system - Xx Mango xX

2)   Personally I wouldn't. Food allergies generally increase in severity with each exposure. If you've gone this long without it, why take the chance? - wyllow

Question 4
why is my pulse so fast?...  We did this thing today in class where everyone took their pulses and compared. Mine was 94 beats per minute out of an average of 3, while everyone elses was in the 60's, 70's, and 80's. I was just sitting while doing this. I weigh 118 pounds, play tennis almost daily, and am relatively healthy (at least I thought so). So why is my pulse so fast?

Answers
1)   The average pulse rate in adults of all ages, unless affected by drugs or disease, is 68-72. In very fit, healthy individuals it may be lower. If you are concerned that yours is high, talk with your doctor. - Dark Angel

2)   about it you can get information from here http://mdcan47.notlong.com/3AAHCY4 - Keziah Sultzer

Question 5
Does erythromycin work for BV?...  I know that BV's main antibiotics are Metronidazole, Cleocin, and Tinidazole but was wondering if anyone has ever taken another antibiotic to fight off BV. The reason I ask is because metronidazole doesn't do jack for me, cleocin works pretty good (but the whole colitis thing scares me), and I'm not too sure about tinidazole.
Chrys,
Unless you have any knowledge of antibiotics do not answer. I'd prefer to hear from an actual doctor, nurse practitioner, or someone who has professional experience with antibiotics.

Answers
1)   talk to a Dr, we don't know your medical condition, YA is not s Dr's office/hospital and we aren't psychic. - Chrys

2)   consider topical (vaginal) clindamycin, metronidazole rather than pill forms. However, risk of colitis is probably not significant for the period of time you take the pill forms-especially tinidazole - LMFNP
