Everything came back negative, except HIV-1, HIV-2 antibody which came back reactive. Can you please tell me if i have HIV

Answers
1)   No we can't tell you, go to the doctor and get a HIV test - eya1

2)   The tests would Indicate not but I recommend that you make an appointment with your doctor for your peace of mind. - RKANTER

3)   These are questions for your doctor not for Answers. Wise up and see your doctor ASAP - Arlene

4)   I would try and check out a FREE STD Clinic in your area:

Websites listed below where you can find one:

http://yourstdhelp.com/free_clinic_locator.html

http://stdfreeclinics.com/

You could also call the place that you donated blood and ask them what it means. They would be able to tell you for sure. You wouldn't have to tell them your name, you could just ask what the verbiage means. But I would recommend going to a Dr. or a Free STD clinic, since most insurance companies don't cover HIV testing. - Living in Paradise

Question 4
I had an abnormal stress test result now the doc wants to do an heart caterization is this common?...

Answers
1)   I am not sure if it is common but I know that it is not uncommon. I too had a few abnormal stress-tests and had a cardiac cath done. Turned out that my heart is fine. The procedure does not take too long and, if all if ok you can go home right after it. - Ellen

2)   It is one option following a result for suspected unsatisfactory function, plaque, narrowing arteries, or ischaemia etc. - it is a way to look into it further and narrow down the causes of some form of systemic failure. I would prefer to see a PET scan with less risk.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cardiology_diagnostic_tests_and_procedures

"There are many diagnostic procedures that can help doctors make a rapid, precise diagnosis. They include electrocardiography (ECG), stress testing, electrophysiologic testing, tilt table testing, radiologic procedures (x-rays), ultrasonography (including echocardiography), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), radionuclide imaging, positron emission tomography (PET), cardiac catheterization, central venous catheterization, angiography, and computed tomography (CT). Fluoroscopy is used infrequently. Blood tests to measure levels of sugar (to test for diabetes), cholesterol, and other substances are often performed." - Van Bo

Question 5
My cousin is very sick- is anyone familiar with these symptoms?...  Here is a list of her symptoms:

Pain on right side of abdomen, near liver and floating rib
normal white blood count
pain with breathing
lump on the neck
blood tests show vitamin D deficiency and elevated liver enzymes (she has never drunk alcohol)
normal bowel movements
no jaundice
no pain when putting pressure on floating rib, lump, or abdomen

She's been having pains on and off for nearly 6 months now, but for the last few weeks she's been in terrible pain. Things have been getting worse for some time and were at their worst so far last night. She's not taking any medications regularly and 800mg of ibuprofen with codeine seemed to offer relief. Aleve and massage sometimes help too.

ANY IDEAS? I'm desperate for any leads on possibilities.!

Answers
1)   How old is she?

Gall bladder, maybe.

She should go see a doctor, and if she has already seen one - go see a different doctor. - Blue Haired Old Lady

2)   The provisional diagnosis is hepatitis. The liver enzymes should not be high. She should have some investigations to confirm this diagnosis , and to know the type too. Analgesics won't solve the problem. 6 months is a pretty long period of time. She should have a check-up soon. - ahmad h
