Question 2
will this small gash/scratch go away?...  i recently accidentally hit my lower lip with something solid .. it was a plastic Tupperware material, then it got this small red line which seems to be an elevated red line of scratch (kind of like swelling).. it's been 3 days and it still hasn't fully disappeared.. will the elevation flatten itself and will the scratch go away? i'm kind of paranoid it might stay this way forever.. thanks
also, will the redness go away?

Answers
1)   If it is around your mouth like you say it is, then it is probably aggravated by talking, eating, and that sort of thing. Unlike a scratch on your arm, it is being pulled on and messed with a lot by the motions of your lips every time you move your facial muscles. It should be fine. But given the area it is in, it might take a bit longer to heal. - breezyleigh

2)   Oh god, i had that once. Has the injury broken the skin? Was any blood present? Your lips are one of the most sensitive areas on your body with a lot of blood vessels just under the surface. Any injury on your lips will almost always result in swelling and some redness for a few days. Its not permanent. But to help speed up the healing process, apply ice on your lip, 10mins on than 10mins off for about half an hour. This will reduce the swelling and discoloration.

It could take a little longer to heal because you are constantly using your lips to eat and talk. - Kittycannon

Question 5
Weight Loss Surgery, Diabetes and CDL?...  I hope someone has a little insight into this situation. I am Type 2 diabetic, have been for about 17 years. I have spoken to numerous individuals that have had weight loss surgery and have reduced or eliminated their need for diabetes medications. If my diabetes progresses to the point where I need insulin, I will be unemployed with my current employer and I am afraid that time is getting close. I will then have the option of a lengthy process to be allowed to drive with insulin or find employment that pays about a quarter of what I earn now. I also have medical insurance, but with an exclusion for weight loss surgery. Am I wrong in thinking that weight loss surgery would be a reasonable accommodation under the Americans With Disabilities Act in order to keep me working? I am a CDL holder working for a company that carries hazardous materials. Opinions appreciated!!
