Question 3
Am I in for it? Honest please. I'm preparing myself for an uncontrollable illness that I would rather not have?...  I work in a small antique shop and yesterday morning my best friend told me she woke up feeling terrible. She threw up a few times but said she felt better. While I went to work, she had gone to a movie and after the show she randomly showed up at the shop to visit me. So sweet of her but I freaked. We stayed a good few feet apart but then she grabbed a stool and sat diagonal. About thirty minutes later she ran to the restroom which is in the front room and was throwing up again. She shut the door to the bathroom and felt fine so she sat back down. She left a few after and I realized the only can of Lysol was in the bathroom. I freaked. And it was sitting on the toilet. I debated going in but I had to at least spray because a customer was bound to walk in. I grabbed a wipey and held my breath and ran in to get the can and then shut the door again. I sprayed like a crazy person. I know this is definitly not the guarentee at all but I had the shop door open and the air freezing so that I could let the shop air out. She made it home and threw up again. They made her go to work but had to leave fir obvious reasons. She informed me that her brother had a 12hr bug and ran a fever for about eight hours and was fine. His was on a Wednesday. And hers happened on Saturday. She is great this morning and says she's starving. Is it safe to say that she had more contact with him, being confined to their house rather than me being equally exposed? It's Sunday now and I feel fine. I actually think I'm more worried about it and THATS getting me queezy. So... Question. Was I exposed to this? Should I prepare for the worst?

Answers
1)   Sounds like the stomach virus/stomach flu. I've had it about 3 times, my whole family has had it at one time or another. Honestly, as long as you stay away as much as possible and as long as your food is clean, you should be okay. Also, if you do get it, the fever sucks, just try to sleep it off. The throwing up is the easy part........ You would be throwing up constantly, UNLESS, you are smart like me and don't eat ANYTHING. I had it and ate a few bites of bread for 2 days. I didn't throw up at all because there wasn't anything TO throw up. If you get it, drink a lot of water, try not to eat (which is easy because you won't have an appetite, and sleep through the fever (take medicine too). Hope this helped!! - Daniel Tanner

2)   You don't have to get it even if you were exposed. Eat two cloves of garlic in the morning and in the night and I promise you you won't get sick. Garlic is a wonderful natural antibiotic/bacterial. But there is a good chance that you are not infected. Just in case along with the garlic drink a lot of fluids and get rest. And please if you do get symptoms, stay home! Don't be like your friend spreading it around town. - Katy

3)   Have you never had the throw up flu? There is over 300 kinds of flu bugs, once you get a flu you won't be able to get it again...but after you go through 300 flu's we will be 100!
The world sees the common flu as such a big deal now. The more you take medicine for a flu the more you will get them.
I just recovered from H1N1, and it wasn't that big of a deal! The doctor made me go into the hospital because I wasn't hydrated and didn't have enough oxygen. It really wasn't what I thought it was, just a bad flu that lasted long. We have no idea how I caught it and only one person out of the 8 others I live with caught it too. If you have good hygiene you are fine. - Firstbasegirl13

4)   You should see a doctor before you get it; you never know and by the way don't blame your friend for that as most people are unaware of how certain diseases transmit from one person to another. - rb

5)   If you do get it just take care of yourself. I will probably last as long as hers. The fact that you stayed away and kept your hands washed and sprayed reduced the possibility tremendously. If you are not sick by later today assume you don't have it. Stomach flu travels fast. - www.bajunajewelry.etsy.com
