Can I get HIV from my mom?...  today i just found out that my mom got aids from cheating on my dad with another man. now ive read somewhere that u can get aids from ur mom so i was wondering if theres a possibility that i might have aids now too.

my wife won't do me right now because i might have aids so please if anyone can just tell me if i have aids or (hopefully!) dont...

1)   It can be passed during pregnancy yes. I'm surprised you wouldn't have found out by now assuming that you've had bloodwork done with your doc in the past. Yes, go get tested. - anjil

2)   It's only possible if your mother was HIV positive when she was pregnant with you. Or if you had any kind of blood or organ transplant from your mother since she was infected.

7)   you can only get it from blood/ bodily fluid contact. if she had it before she had you then there is a good chance that you could have it too. if she cheated on your dad after that, and got it prior to you being an infant then i think you should be fine (unless you can think of any times where you came in contact with her blood and it could have gotten into your body... but you should get tested if its a real concern. - Ry

11)   for the love of god some of yall are dumb. first of all HIv is not AIDS. AIDS occurs when a person who has HIV's white blood cell count drops below a certain number. then it's no longer managable. you cannot get HIv or AIDS from kissing or sharing a drink with your mom. it's not spread through saliva. it's spread through semen, vaginal fluid, blood, breast milk. thus, if she was HIV positive when she had you, then you probably have HIV. if she had AIDS, then you may have HIV or AIDS. but they have to take A LOT of medicine and get sick very easily. so i highly doubt you would have it because you would have noticed by now. you can go get tested at a free health clinic. all they need is a swab to the mouth - ckg143

I need help quick! lump on my stomach?...  I am really nervous because I have a lump to the lower right of my belly button and i dont know what it is!?!?
i doesnt hurt but it is like swollen or somthing... i dont know
i am fourteen and i eat well and am in good shape!
could this lead to an appendix burst? what should i do ?? please help

1)   Go to the hospital, but it sounds like a swollen ovary, it happens to me all the time, but its associated with ovarian cysts that are very common, or endometriosis. Being healthy has nothing to do with it, its the price of being a woman. The cyst can pop so you might want to go to a doctor so they can drain it because when it pops, its worse then child birth. My grandma and my mom had them as a lump on their stomach....so they had it checked and it was their gal bladder so they had surgery and they are fine now. Stomach Pain, Possible Ulcers?...  well my pain is like an 8 on a scale 1-10. it comes and goes. food sometimes makes it worse or feel better. it feels like someone is stabbing me with a knife. it growls and rumbles alot. peptobismol helps relieve it but comes back hours later. i also get dizzy when i stand up, and occasionally have lower right side back pain. is this serious? please help!

Question 5
right side of my body went numb? (teenager)?...  Earlier today as I laid down for a nap, I felt a slight pressure in one little part of my head in the back (about the size of a quarter). Absolutely no pain, just pressure.
A minute or so later, the right side of my face went numb. then my leg, then my arm and foot.
Again, no pain, just numb.
I also got very cold and shivered severely.

After going to the ER, CT scan came back negative, as did blood tests.
I was advised to see a neurologist for an MRI

I'm only 17, a female, and right now I feel perfectly fine except for a pins and needles sensation in the lower half of my right leg. kind of like when your leg falls asleep.

it might also be worth adding that I am severely sleep deprived and drink excessive amounts of caffeine a day (several cups of coffee a day as well as tea at night)
I'm aware that the caffeine is why I haven't been sleeping, but is it possible that the mixture of sleep deprivation and/or excessive coffee intake could be it?

or just any ideas or theories whatsoever?

:( I'm really scared.

1)   either way if the caffine is the cause, you should slowly stop consuming so much. as for the other problem i am not sure. it could be either brain or heart. but i am not a medical professional or studying to become one. that is just my simple logic. sorry i couldnt be more helpful. - James C

4)   stop the caffeine , it could only make your symptoms worse. go see the neurologist, they'll tell you whats going on, i dont blame you for being scared, just pray that God helps you get rid of it - Pearl L
