Answers
1)   dump him and find a new boyfriend - Mr. Nice Guy

2)   thats an ironic answer coming from mr nice guy - DODGERDUDE

3)   The best thing you can do for him is to be by his side and support him. If it's possible, go with him to any treatments he would like for you to be at.

Best bet: just treat him like you'd want to be treated if you were in his situation. I hope things get better and it's not cancer. - DT Girl

4)   He would know. Seems like he's playing on your feelings. Dump him. - Abrielle

5)   I'm very sorry to hear that.

I just kind of stumbled across your question, so I don't know how much I can say. I've lost members of my family to cancer, and it's not easy. But for now, don't borrow trouble. Don't worry so much until you have an actual diagnosis. If he is diagnosed, take it a day at a time. Cancer is not a death sentence, but treatment is often hard. He will need you to be strong and be by his side.

You can do it, just stay strong. Good luck sweetie :) - Mel

Question 3
What can you smoke that won't give you cancer?...  Naturally, it's not safe to smoke tobacco. It's addictive and carcinogenic. As well,it's not safe to burn random plants and inhale the fumes. You never know what kind of chemical reaction you might cause or the effect it might have on your body, if any at all.

What I'm interested in is a smoke-able aromatics that are safe to inhale and easy on the lungs. Basically, something I can "smoke" socially that won't eventually lead to my death or have me coughing like crazy.

Does such a thing exist?

Answers
1)   Since smoke particles themselves can damage your lungs, I think you're out of luck. - callmepadme

2)   Why do you feel like you have to "smoke" something? How about smoking nothing and finding something better to do with your time. - Steve

Question 5
what can i do to keep my momm from losing weight during chemotherepy?...  food doesnt taste good to her

Answers
1)   I understand your question so well, having been through chemo and radiation last summer. Have you tried liquid supplements such as Ensure or Boost? The dietician at the cancer clinic recommended small, frequent meals also. It's been a year since my last chemo and everything still tastes terrible, and I have no sense of smell. I'd watch your mom very carefully for signs of dehydration. I ended up in hospital for 6 weeks because I couldn't even keep water down. There I was tube fed, given IV and potassium. The liquid supplements also are available in puddings I believe. If she can take even 1/4 to 1/3 of a bottle/can of liquid supplement it's better than nothing.
There's a new drink V-Fusion which is a combination of V-8 mixed with fruit juice, but only the taste of the fruit comes through. I lost 40 pounds, and in the end the dietician said to forget everything I'd been doing previously (low fat diet), and eat whatever I could tolerate, e.g., icecream, milkshakes,
smoothies. I imagine the staff has told you that sometimes metal eating utensils can cause food to taste funny, so if that's the case, try plastic cutlery. Believe me, it's hard to eat when everything tastes terrible, but I'm at the point now where I eat just because I know I have to in order to survive.
Good luck to you and your mom. Oh, one more thing, don't hesitate to ask for a referral to the dietician. - Gramma

2)   I found that what tasted good changed almost daily.

Favorite foods tasted bad, but some foods I normally wasn't fond of improved.

Try things like fruit smoothies.

Although the literature says bland foods are often better tolerated, I found I enjoyed distinct flavours better, salt, vinegar, lemon, spicy were all good for me. They seemed to cut through the constant metallic taste I seemed to have in my mouth that made things taste nasty.

Small quantities, well presented will encourage her to at least try them.

Don't be too disappointed if what works one day doesn't work the next day. - Tarkarri
