Simple Diagnosis of Cancer Question?

Question 1
Simple Diagnosis of Cancer Question?...  To those that have been diagnosed with any type of cancer. After the original biopsy were you told over the phone that you had cancer or did your physician wait until you were in the office next to tell you. Thank you....

Answers
1)   Fweeeww...some doctor would THAT one be.

I would expect more humane consideration from a Professional. Maybe that IS the problem: some are just doctors, not professionals. - 120

2)   They called and wanted to see me right away in the office. They don't tell you over the phone but you can tell. - Mr. Sunshine

3)   No. They call you into the office to discuss the results. - ChemoAngel

4)   My daughter had to stay in the hospital overnight, and the oncologist came to see us in the morning (Thursday) and said it was very likely but not 100%. She said she would call on Friday with the answer and she did, and we made an appointment for the following Tuesday to discuss the treatment, etc.
I don't know if it's different when it's a child. I told her in person obviously and she wasn't there for the whole treatment discussion. (She was 10.) - Goddess of Grammar

5)   I'm pretty sure my doctor called my parents and they told me it may be lymphoma.. then i went to the doctor and he told me exactly what it is. - Bbob B

6)   My doctor scheduled me for a bone marrow biopsy on Thursday and a follow-up visit on Friday. She told me in person. - Lizzy

7)   They do not tell you on the phone. You are called into the office so you can be told personally, and to discuss your plan of treatment. - suzziesurvivor

Question 2
my forehead has bumps and pimples and acne scars any ideas about getting rid of them?...  i really want to get rid of them.
it is noticable and is driving me crazy any ideas on getting rid of them all at the same time or sepertly either or.

Answers
1)   pro active works like a charm - Nora

2)   mederma for scars will work, for the old ones and wash your face alot and use astrigent - Becci

3)   omg i have the same problem, since i was 14 and now im 15 -.-
its soo annoying i know how you feel. and mine are only on my forehead, and even if i dont pop the pimple it would heal and turn into a scar, so i had like scars all over my forehead,
stuff that worked for me are:
- bio oil $15 ; its for scars and you need to use it for like 3-5 months mine worked so well, i still have scars but not near how bad it was
- clearasil 4 hour rapid $13 ; im using that now its so good!! you apply a little bit wherever the scar/or pimple is and it just heals down the nxt day!! obviously doesnt go staright away but it does help
- if you were foundation, make sure you use MINERAL because it helps so much doesnt have to be an expensive one it could be anything but has to be MINERAL
- exfoliate your face with clearasil scrub or loreal $15, it will help clean your pores out.
and yeah there the stuff that work for me, and make sure you dont keep a fringe that covers your forhead because i did that for 1 year and it gets so much worser and redder, it blocks air from pores and causes oily skin..
- and also i buy the packet facial thingy there cool 3 for $12, you do that once a week..
and trust me it would get better,
but the best of all is the tablet you get from the skin doctor, but they didnt give it to me because it wasnt like all over my face so yeah :)
ps; you dont need to buy all these stuff but the most one that will help is BIO-oil.
ive also used pro-active ive used it and it HASNT helped me ; not everyones skins the same though.. :)

good luck. omg i wrote so much lol.
hope you get better and dw they will eventually go you wont have them for the rest of your life.!! - kaityy

4)   I would recommend Acneace!!!!
I used it, and after 1 months, my acne was COMPLETELY gone!
Hope it works for you.
you can get From Google Search Acneace Official site. Good luck. - Corwin

5)   Here are a few tips that will help you know how to treat acne at home.
1. If you have red angry looking acne, don't touch it. If you squeeze now, all you'll do is force the contents deeper into the skin that will make matters worst. And all you'll end up with is redder, angrier acne than you had before. Don't do it.
2. If you have a yellow custard top? Go for it. These beauties CAN be squeezed but there's an art to it. Here's how. Wash your hands thoroughly to avoid trouble and infection. Put a tissue over your finger. Why? Because you want the contents of the spot on the tissue, not splattered all over the mirror. Using the side of your thumb and the end of your finger, very gently start to squeeze. Don't whatever you do, use your nails as this will damage your skin. Stop when you're applying a lot of pressure and nothing is happening and you see clear fluid, rather than yellow grotty stuff and the spot begins to bleed. When you've finished dab it with antiseptic. Once the custard bit is out, the spot will heal more quickly than an unsqueezed yellow top would, providing that you now leave it well alone. Now wash your hands again.
3. Whiteheads and blackheads. If acne is left untreated they may cause this problem. Here the rule is if they're black, squeeze but if they're small, white raised lumps leave them alone. All that stuff about clean hands, tissues and stopping if nothing is happening or you see blood, apply here too.

.. - Sara

6)   1) Keep your hair and products off your forehead as much as possible.

2) Use alcohol free toner to clean it twice a day.

3) Apply 2.5 or 5% benzoyl peroxide to clear up the current pimples. - Lorelei

Question 3
How do you know if you have a heart attac-HNNNNNNNNNNNNG?...

Answers
1)   this is just silly - MungoChuck

2)   hello!!!!!! HELLO!!!!!!!! oh sh!t
ah fcuk it hes dead - suspention_impending

3)   Chest pain, excessive perspiration without a cause, ECG changes and cardiac enzymes in the blood. - gangadharan nair

4)   Typical signals of an impending heart attack include angina that is more severe or lasts longer than a few minutes. The chest discomfort associated with a heart attack, or myocardial infarction, may last for several hours (longer than a usual angina episode) and may not respond to nitroglycerin tablets - healthy life

5)   There are many signs that can tell you if you've had or are having a heart attack. Shortness of breath. Chest arm and/or shoulder pain. Sweating alot for no reason. Sick to your stomach. But there are a few signs that most people don't know about. My aunt had a massive heart attack and the only thing that hurt on her was her big toe, lol. She said it felt like it was broke. When the doctor told her that she was having a heart attack, she told him he was stupid. She spent three weeks in the hospital. Another aunt had a heart attack without any pain. She just got dizzy and passed out. - Larry B

6)   You don’t – and chances are high that even when you are having an attack, it might be misdiagnosed. Studies conducted in the U.S. have found that it is relatively common for serious conditions such as a heart attack or stroke to be misdiagnosed in emergency care, according to www.wrongdiagnosis.com.

“For example, patients with non-typical presentations such as a young person or a woman having a heart attack are less likely to be correctly diagnosed. Furthermore, an ECG [electrocardiogram] test does not rule out a heart attack even if it is normal, and some physicians rely too heavily on this test,” the Web site stated.

Question 4
do some people go purple when its cold?...  well, whenevr its cold my aunties hands arms feet go like purply, ??
is that normal and why does this happen thx..

Answers
1)   Purple is a color related to coldness and oceans. For your aunt to turn purple is perfectly oceanic. - trickyeric3

2)   I have that as well.
It is due to poor circulation in the bloodstream. Your blood stays in the centre of your body and doesn't quite get fully circulated (well) through the extremities (hands, feet).
It's common. - desirables14

3)   Its all about the blood flow. When blood has oxygen, leaving the lungs, it is red. Once it has been to the outer regions and they've taken their O2, it is blue. That blue under skin looks purple. If they have blue/purple extremities it is a circulation issue and might be an issue...course they may just need a heater. - Patrick

4)   yea,
my grandma has that.
half of her body gets literally the color purple.
and when its hot she gets red.

but im being literal.
she changes color. - paolaa.

5)   Normal physiologic response. Decreased temperatures makes the body freak, kinda. Basically, your body decreases the amount of blood going to peripheral regions (ig arms, legs, face, etc), and it focuses the blood on maintaining an adequate temperature for major organs.

Hope that helps. - curious21

Question 5
is SPF 80 good or bad?...  alright here the deal i play soccer every day so i been outside for long periods of time..
for the past two weeks more than 10 people say " dam you dark as crap"
so i bought SPF 80 sun scream..
it that good enough or bad..
I DONT WANNA GET DARK AT ALL>>

ANSWER!

Answers
1)   I think above a certain level (SPF 40?) the SPF rating doesn't mean so much. In other words, SPF 60 would probably be just as good as SPF 80, but you shouldn't get as dark now. - unusual cow

2)   All i have to say, if that's not the best spf for you, it's coming in second place. most people that want to get dark will use a really low spf, like 10-15 or even less. Most people tan a little with spf 30, but even with spf you will get tan, but not noticabally, spf just prevents the harmful rays from reaching and getting into your skin to cause harmful cancers. its better to be a little tan then sun burned with skin cancer...right? - McKenzie

3)   SPF 80 should do the trick. That's a strong sunscreen. - virtual insanity

4)   I think spf 80 is the highest you can get, so with that you shouldn't tan at all. So if that's what you want then perfect you got the right stuff. - Rosalie

5)   I don't remember what morning talk show I was watching, but it was almost a year ago and they had a doctor say that anything above 50 SPF won't really do anything. But I don't know if I believe that or not because I have a very pale skin friend and she uses SPF 100 because it is the only thing that works for her so it might work for you!! Make sure it has both UVA/ UVB protection!! - Gwinster
