Can these problems be serious?

Question 1
Can these problems be serious?...  I'm only 12 years of age and have painful pains on the right side of my rib cage and on the lower right of my hip. I'm not overweight nor do I know of any breathing problems. And have been experiencing this for about two weeks. The pains start with a cough, sneeze, and continue to hurt. Whenever I inhale a lot I tend to start the pain. Any Ideas?

Answers
1)   Sounds like a broken rib. You should tell your parents so they can take you to the doctor to be sure it isn't something more serious. Good luck. - Nova J

2)   there may be a problem with your appendix, as i think that's where it is. ask your parents or a doctor :) - Megan

3)   It may be the beginning of an infection, or it could have been caused by a sport of activity you have taken part in. If it's not better in a few days I would go to your GP for advice.
Best of luck :) - Alison

4)   sounds like it could be a strained muscle Try some ibuprofen for pain and any inflammation and if it continues or gets worse go see the Dr. and get it checked good luck - seminoleswty

5)   tell your parents about this. Then visit with your school nurse and ask your parents to arrange a doctor appointment. Strange pains sometimes come and go but two weeks is a long time for a pain to persist.
Don. Your English composition skills are very good Why do you inhale a lot? too much exercise? that could also account for the pain but have it checked out. - don c

6)   Could be kidney stones/ or infection. I just got over them both, and it felt the same way. Go to your doctor soon! - Kdgo

3)   These are all symptoms of high blood pressure. You may also feel dizzy. I hope you are working with your doctor to get this under control. - Nurse Alex

4)   high blood pressure makes you sluggish, depressed and tired. you can go to walmart and use their machines to check it regularly. also, cut out the chips, salty foods, soda and fatty foods, this will help bring it down. Walk more and drink more clear liquids. The chest tightening is probably from you not being able to breathe right. - kathy
