Best ways to get rid of a canker sore?...  I have a canker sore right by my gum and it is very painful...I can't really eat, drink, or even move my mouth a certain direction because it will hurt!! I get canker sores once in a while. Do you know ways that I can get rid of it fast?

2)   Yes, but both these methods sting A LOT. They are, however, extremely effective in getting rid of canker sores:

Salt Water
-after you brush your teeth, put 1-2 teaspoons of coarse salt into a cup
-fill it with water
-swish the water around in your mouth
-spit

Vitamin C
-put a Vitamin C tablet in your mouth
-using your tongue, push it so it presses against your canker sore

If you're afraid of the pain, I suggest the salt water method. It is MUCH less painful than the Vitamin C tablet. I have a high tolerance for pain, but even I had some tears while trying out the Vitamin C method.

3)   You can develop allergies at any time in your life so the allergy symptom thing really doesn't matter. What you should do is completely do a big time spring cleaning of your room starting from top to bottom. Absolutely dust everything in your room, wash the curtains, windex the windows, wash down the walls, dust the furniture really well, clean all of your bedding (last), vacuum really well (at least every other day), and make sure your parents change the air filter in the air conditioner every month or six months depending on what kind of filter they buy. It will be alot of work to do all of that but it will be worth it. Also there might be something in the air that's making it ichy. Sometimes humidity can even cause an itchy nose, and pollen and gunk in the air. One thing that you could do is take an antihistamine, espcially since it's been going on for several days. Sometimes taking an antihitamine will knock it right out and you won't have any more problems especially if you do this along with all the cleaning and dusting. Benadryl is good but remember it will make you very drowsy so just be prepared for that. You could also use a saline spray which is a nonmedicated salt water spray that you just squirt in your nose. It keeps your nose clean and clears out any itchiness, congestion, dirt, dryness, etc. It really works. You should be able to find it at any drugstore or grocery store where the nose sprays are located. - lemondrop

How do I get rid of my sebaceous cysts?...  Okay I will give you a little background on myself. I am a 20 year old man dealing with the stresses of life from having two jobs... to going to school to get a degree. My story is a little long so please stick with me, and it starts out like this. About a year ago i developed a lump behind my right ear and i thought it was just a large pimple without a head. So i proceeded to sterilize a need and poke into it. Nothing came out so I left it alone. About 2 months later it became unbearably sore so I went to a doctor and he told me that i had a sebaceous cyst and that it needed to be taken out. So 15 minutes later the deed was done and I thought the problem was over. About 3 months later i developed a cyst on the back of my head in the top right corner. I went back to my doctor to have this one cut out. I was told the when i poked the first one open that I burst the sac the cyst was in and allowed it to possibly get into my bloodstream. So I again thought that it was gone and I had nothing to worry about. Well about a month after that it was back in the same spot. So my mother decided to take me to a dermatologist, thinking they would know more. So the dermatologist injected into the cyst a steroid called Prednisone. A week later the cyst had dramatically decreased in size but to no avail it came back. Having money problems the copay at my regular family doctor was cheaper so we went to have it removed again. While my doctor was removing it she said that she felt she had missed something and told me to come back the next day to see if she could get it all out. Well I came back the next day and while she was digging around in my scalp, she posed a question with a concerned sound. She asked me if I had "ever had a head injury." I said no. "Did your mother notice that your skull hadn't completely formed when you were a child?" No. I started to get worried and then she told me to give my hand to her. She took my index finger to feel something. She rubbed my finger over my head near the cyst. My skull was indented right beneath where the cyst was. To make a long story short. I had a CT scan and an MRI. I have a 3cm crater in my skull caused by the Prednisone shot. Been to an infectious disease doctor, neurosurgeon. Now I have 12 cysts on my head. Help me out. Doctors won't work.

You will not be sure it is eczema unless you see a doctor. To me, it sounds more like heat rash. Eczema typically is itchy.

I've heard of dermatologists using ultra-violet lights to treat acne. You should ask your doc about it and I think the treatments are also available at spas.

When my acne got really bad I quit wearing foundation and powder.

Stop eating junk food.

Wash your face with just a daily face wash everyday or maybe even twice.
And if your going to wear makeup remember to remove it before you go to bed EVERY night.

Sun poisoning or an allergic reaction????!?...  Okay so i woke up this morning and noticed i had red rashes in patches on my arms. Later on around 6pm my arm started to hurt and feel really heavy. Both arms also started to swell. Then around 6:45pm I started feeling like i was burning. My face turned bright red and it started to spread to my chest. I also was having problems with my heart beating irregular and feeling extremely dizzy and shaky. I took 3 benadryl and it kinda helped. Could this be sun poisoning or an allergic reaction????

What type of rash is this?...  My boyfriend has had these red/ rash like spots on him. They're larger, more like blotches on his leg, back of his arms, and his back. They have been there for about 5 days. He says that they do not hurt or itch. They're not raised up or anything; they're just there.

Lump behind right ear?...  So I woke up this morning and felt a bit crappy. A few minutes ago, I felt a lump behind my right ear. I have swollen lymph nodes almost all of the time. My doctor told me that lymph nodes can stay swollen for a while after you are sick, up to a month; however, they shouldn't hurt when you touch them, they should be able to be moved a bit when you touch them. I have a strange body odor.?...  I'm fifteen years old and whenever I shower I smell this musty scent come off of me. I always wash my body thoroughly and don't spend all day getting dirty. I have dreadlocks but their not finished all the way so I have to make sure not to get them wet too much or else they'll come loose. I take showers twice a day-but lately I've been taking them three times a day because I've been sweating a lot more for some reason- and each time I take a shower I smell this strange mix between armpit sweat and the scent my hair got when I had an afro and didn't use shampoo when I took a shower. I'm now using shampoo each time I shower and wash my body twice with Dove Body Wash for men and use Loreal shampoo but I still always smell the weird smell. I can't find where the smell is coming off from and I make sure I was every part of my body so I don't know what the problem is. The only change I've had is my sweating has increased and the smell started a few weeks ago which was around the same time I shaved my armpits. I don't know if the shaving of my pits has anything to do with it but all I know is that the smell is irritating.

Does this sound like cancer?...  I have an appointment for next thursday but I'm a little nervous, so I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask. I have a lump inside my right breast, it doesn't feel perfectly round but it feels smooth and hard. Its probably about the size of a bean...maybe half an inch in diameter? It doesn't feel like I can move it around, it feels attached. And it is a little tender but not sore. It is located above the nipple, a little further to the right (toward my armpit).
Oh and I am 20 years old.

I have certain unusual substancegrowth on my face,its not a pimple but its hard and is of whitecolour,Whats it?...  Now when I try to remove it ,I bleed a lot and within a day it starts to grow back.There is no pain however when its present.
The number has increased first it was one now there are four spots,

What are the freckles spreading from my feet up my legs?...  A little background: I am 25, very fair skinned, and wear sunscreen every day.

About two years ago, I noticed small patches of tiny, heavily clustered freckles on the tops of my feet, right below my ankles. They are not raised, they do not itch. They just look like a bunch of freckles all in one area. A year-and-a-half ago I was seeing a dermatologist about an unrelated issue and asked him about it. He said it was iron deposits in my skin from heavy use of antibiotics (I had pneumonia three years ago) and it was "cosmetic."

I accepted that answer, rubbed on some cream he gave me for them... and saw no difference. I noticed the freckles were spreading up my legs slowly, but figured it was just the antibiotics issue. Now I am worried. In a year-and-a-half the freckles have gone from the tops of my feet to almost up to my knees.

Does anyone know what the heck this is? Should I see a cosmetic dermatologist since maybe they would actually CARE about the issue? Another type of doctor?

Panic/Anxiety Or Something Worse?...  I deal with this everyday, I can't handle it anymore, I am in constant fear that I am going to drop dead to a heart attack. Even though I am only 19 years old. Any pain I get I think oh crap, here it comes. 2 months ago I had some pretty bad panic attacks, although at the time I never heard of panic attacks, both times I felt like I was going to die, I felt like I was having a heart attack, (its always been a fear of mine) I check my pulse all the time thinking that its going to be different, or checking that my heart is still working. I've done a fair amount of drugs, smoked for 4 years, and drank heavily). So it makes me think that I do have a heart problem or that I am going to die from a heart attack at such a young age. Many doctors have told me that everything sounds fine, and that my breathing is fine and whatnot (ever since my panic attacks, I've been very short of breath ALL THE TIME, like I gasp for air every 10 minutes). I've had many tests on my heart, ECG's EKG's, chest xwray's, blood work etc. Everything came back normal. But yet I still fear that I am going to have a heart attack, everyday. Sometimes I tell myself come on Tom, you know this is just in your head, but my symptoms get so real sometimes that I have no choice but to think that there is something seriously wrong with me.

Symptoms are:
Weakness on and off.
Chest pains on the left side come and go (Rarely pain when I workout)
Dizziness
Can't focus
Heart palps
Sweaty Palms
Shortness of breath - constant
Brain Fog


Recently I have been in fear that I am going to have a stroke, or something worse. In the last few weeks I've had "Brain Fog", it feels like my brain is so heavy, it feels like I can't process anything. It literally feels like I am going "retarded". I can never focus on anything, I "zone out" really, really easy. I am so sick of feeling this way. I can't enjoy life. I don't know whether this is from "anxiety" or if these symptoms are something real. Maybe I'm just really stressed, I lost my license, I no longer have a steady job, still haven't gotten my grade 12. I no longer have my beloved Ford F150. My family is just brushing me off now, saying "Tom, how can this many things be wrong with you?". "You are fine, this is all in your head". It's easy to say its in your head but when your experiencing it, it really doesn't feel like its all in your head. It's SO REAL TO YOU. Night time is the worst for me. I am always in fear of sleep because I think I might die durning it. It sounds ridiculous I know. But I am being so serious. Sometimes my heart will pound, or something and I'll start panicking. I will literally stay up till I am exausted and say "screw" this, if I'm going to die then so be it, I am just to "effing" tired.

Anyways I'm sorry for typing you my whole life story I just have no body to talk to, and my family thinks that I am going crazy. I've never EVER felt like this before, I used to be the most fun guy to be around, I was never scared of anything, I could talk to anybody with ease. And pick up almost any girl, and now its the complete opposite and I feel like my life is over. Thanks for reading all of this, even though it sounds pretty crazy.

3)   You need to see your dr and get an anti-depressant and panic attack medication. Talking to someone helps just as you wrote above. Death is not that easy you just can't predict or say you are going to die even though you feel crushed by the panic attack it passes and it will continue to do so. You are anxoius/panic attacks... plain and simple. Your symptoms don't make any sense and you have had plenty of tests. The kicker was "rarely when I work out" People with heart conditions can't work out very well... they die. Its a slow process to rehab a heart, and given that you're 19, you dont have heart disease and you wont have a heart attack. Chest pain, and bleeding after I stopped smoking?...  Hi, I'm 17, been smoking for 2 years. I usually smoked a half a pack to a pack a day. I quit smoking a few days ago, but I took some hits on some one eles's cig. My chest has been hurting, and bothering my shoulders. I don't have shortness of breath, or a cough. Today I hacked, and I spit some blood out. I kept spitting up blood, then went to the emergency room. Had a chest x-ray, and they didn't find any thing. I don't know where the blood is coming from. When I pick my nose there is some blood on my finger, but I'm spitting up blood.

Can these problems be serious?...  I'm only 12 years of age and have painful pains on the right side of my rib cage and on the lower right of my hip. I'm not overweight nor do I know of any breathing problems. And have been experiencing this for about two weeks. The pains start with a cough, sneeze, and continue to hurt. Whenever I inhale a lot I tend to start the pain. Any Ideas?

asthma attacks every night ?!?...  im going to make this to the point. im 14. ive tried cigarettes, ended up smoking for about 4 months, quit about 5 months ago. When i smoked i smoked one black and mild or sometimes two cigarettes a day, so it was never really that heavy but i did smoke. I sas born with asthma. Thats a horrible combo right off the bat. Ive smoked pot before. Only a few times though, if you know your stuff you know that pot smoking is alot less frequent then tabacco smoking. You become addicted to cigarettes and what not, and pot is for the most part just a recreational thing. Anyway so from 2009-2010 ive smoked a bit. Not a whole lot but a little bit. My asthma has gotten alot worse. I also inhale alot of second hand smoke even now that i quit, because alot of my friends still smoke, and im around them pretty much everyday after school. we hang out outside a convenient store where everyone smokes out front, so its really not doing me any good and i know it. But weve had this routine all year and we always hang out, relax after a long school day, kick back, talk. alot of girls would hang out with us their too. sometimes wed leave with some of the girls to ''hang out''..lol. on a friday people would always say where their partys were gunna be and all that. id miss that lifestyle so much if i stopped hanging out their. And plus not just that, they ARE my friends regardless of wether they smoke or not. I was their too, and MY friends didnt abandon ME...i really dont know what to do. it really isnt doing my health any good and my asthma is getting worse. im having frequent attacks now, im wheezing a bit, coughing often, and also im an athlete and have been having trouble doing excersize...i dont know what to do ! i feel so out of breath right now as we speak. My inhailor seems useless now..
as my title says, during the day its not as bad but when i get home it gets alot worse especially at night and really especially in my room for some reason then other parts of the house.
Oh and also, i have a bad family history sorta. My grandpa died of emphysema and was on a breathing machine for years before he died because of smoking when he was younger.

Sounds like you need an oral bronchodilator, such as Singulair or something like that to work along side your rescue inhaler. You may even need a nebulizer for breathing treatments periodically.
I suggest you see your Dr. and STOP SMOKING! You have an opportunity to control and correct your problems at this point. One day it will be too late. - I don't believe it!

2)   i outgrew my breathing problems that i was on inhailors and machinces for, I kinda had minor trouble when i first would smoke but nothing as major as what your saying.
