How to overcome skin picking?...  I have been picking the skin around my fingers since i was little.girl and i dont know how to stop. I thought about puting bandaids on my fingers but i think that will cause infection. What should i do? i pick my skin when im nervous or bored and i dont know how to stop
i am not on drugs and what i meant by bored was like when i am in school

Question 2
Need emergency medical care but no insurance....will county hospital turn me down?...  I am having major problems...no insurance since husbands been laid off....state will give my kids medical cards but not me because of hubby. Only way they will is if we seperate. I have congestive heart failure and have bronchitis right now. My stomach is swollen to a basketball size or bigger with water water and it's started to swell up my legs too. If I go to the emergency room what will they do? My Laisix are not taking the water off and I cannot walk 10ft. without huffing and puffing and i'm scared! Any advice would be helpful! Thank you

Butt acne/some type of skin disorder?...  I have these pimples? i guess u could call them for a longgg time im talking years some go away then other come back and theres alot but there just on my butt i mean even before i hit puberty ive had them i have mild acne on my face but this has always been severe im 16 now and im just gettin sick of it i mean if it was acne i think it would go away because i take 2 shower a day at least so i have a feeling its not acne but it deffinately looks like it can someone help me out here?

4)   I did some research and talked to my doctor to find the most common causes of acne.

• Hormones: The number one cause of acne is the production of sex hormones, known as androgen, that begins at puberty. This is why majority of acne sufferers are adolescents and teens. Hormones are responsible for then acne flare-ups during menstruation and pregnancy.

• When the sebaceous gland is stimulated by androgens, it produces extra sebum. Cosmetics, especially certain moisturizers, foundations and pomades contain lanolin, petrolatum, vegetable oils, butyl stearate, lauryl alcohol and oleic acid.

• Certain medications and steroids: Vitamins are good for your body, But an excess of vitamins B1, B6 and B12 can cause acne flare-ups. These vitamins are good for the skin, but avoid overuse.

• Diets: For some people, a diet that is high in refined carbohydrates and sugars can actually aggravate their acne.

• Over abrasive cleansing: Harsh exfoliators can damage skin and spread infections.

• Picking and squeezing: This can actually send the infection deeper into the skin and can cause scarring.

• Environmental irritants: such as high humidity and pollution. High humidity actually causes swelling of skin. Pollution is of course is a big cause for clogging your pores.

• Genes: Family members who are also acne sufferers. Acne is inherited and severe cases known as cystic acne usually come from heredity.

Can a CBC detect if you have lupus?...  About 12 years ago i started experiencing joint pain and swelling and also had fluid in my knee and had it drained. I was checked for lupus then and it was negative but my joint pain has never fully went away. I'm plagued by it and my rheumatologist diagnosed it as reactive arthritis. I have had normal CBC's since then but i've been told lupus is hard to diagnose, but if i had it since 12 years ago wouldn't i probably be really sick by now??

1)   no, a typical CBC would not be diagnostic for lupus.
there are more specific tests for lupus that would have to be ordered.

2)   No, not a simple CBC. There is no single test for Lupus because Lupus affects different people in different ways. The blood can be tested for certain proteins, ANAs, (antinuclear antibodies,) but other problems can cause the body to make ANAs as well. Your doctor would make a diagnosis by asking you questions regarding your symptoms in general and more specific blood testing. - Just Me

I'm concerned that my ex has OCD?...  My boyfriend broke up with me about a month ago because, "He is spending too much money on college to waste his time with a relationship." He spends all of his time working; he spends much more time than the average student making sure his work is perfect. When he's not doing his work, he feels like he is wasting time. He's also excessively clean, must clean his ears frequently, and has often expressed that certain things about our relationship are "wrong" because of the age difference (he's three years older than me.)

I asked him recently if he was still in love with me. He said no. I asked him when he stopped being in love with me and he told me that it happened when he broke up with me, that he decided that our relationship was bad for him and that he shouldn't love me. I'm concerned that he may have OCD and that may be preventing him from having a healthy relationship with me. I want to help him!

if he just started university he might also just want to break up with you so he can be free to do what he wants but he'll probably grow out of that pretty fast

2)   It sounds more like you're trying to justify a reason for his breakup to yourself.
None of these things sound like Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, more like him being determined and stubborn by nature.
He simply has no strong feelings for you anymore and values his future more than some not especially important relationship.

There's nothing wrong with striving to make his work as good as it can be, he's clearly taking college seriously, a lot of people are slackers and just like to party and do the bare minimum effort, you should encourage him to study hard.
As for the ear cleaning, perhaps they get dirty often due to higher levels of oil, or doing something to make them dirty, or being concerned that they're unclean.
He thinks things in the relationship are "wrong" because they probably are to him, there might be a lot of things that annoy him, or he cant abide for very long, or get in the way of his education and work.
It sounds like he is being more mature and realistic than you, but admittedly a little in-compassionate about your feelings.

They like a challenge and they don't like a girl that is too clingy. If you leave him alone totally and if it is meant to be he will come back around you. Believe me i know from experience. I was totally in love with this guy. He broke it off with me. I called his phone repetitively with no answer from him. Finally i gave up and said F*** him, and i saw him out at the club one night but i was with somebody else by then and i totally ignored him all night like i didn't care about him and the next day, guess who was calling my phone to see how i was doing?
