Answers
1)   No, it needn't be a death sentence:

2)   The person would be WAY better off to stop drinking - that will stop any further damage from the alcohol.

Here's a link to more info. - PJ

3)   it would depend on the amount of liver damage, there are some treatments but not much to do if the liver had failed. however there are many degrees of cirrhosis, and it is not commonly a "death sentence" just a symptom of liver damage. - Alex E

4)   Not necessarily, it takes time to die from cirrhosis, sometimes many years but many complications can occur and become life threatening. To continue drinking is very harmful though. Early treatment and to stop drinking can help stop damage to the liver. A lot depends on grading of the disease using Child-Pugh score. This helps to determine if a transplant will be needed, which is sometimes the only real hope of living a long term life!

Points Class One year survival Two year survival
5-6 A 100% 85%
7-9 B 81% 57%
10-15 C 45% 35%

Treatment leads to improvement in most cases when the disease is discovered in its earlier stages. Most patients are able to live a normal life for many years. The outlook is less favorable if liver damage is extensive or if someone with cirrhosis does not stop drinking. People with cirrhosis usually die from either bleeding, serious infections, or kidney failure. They often enter irreversible coma in their last days. - Stephen G

Good gift for blind father-in-law?...  My father-in-law is *mostly* blind and in poor health from Diabetes complications. They live in Florida. We got him a couple of CD's already for Christmas, and he, of course, has an ipod, etc. Any ideas on what would be a great gift for him? I always feel badly for him because he seems to receive so little, as it is difficult to find things that are appropriate for him.
They have a dog already that he Loves very much.

Question 4
My heart hurts after eating the D's (McDonald's), am i going to die in my sleep?...  Just had 2 big macs and a a liter of cola and 2 McDoubles and 2 apple pies, with a McFlurry. I am just a little concerned.

Answers
1)   Hmm yep you a goner - LiS

2)   are you joking? you cant be serious.

that is way too much. not to mention mcd's is full of sh!t. stop eating it yuck - >.<

3)   My suggestion is to get some exercise and eat healthy the rest of the day, and by that, I mean only eat fruits, vegetables, and healthy chicken/fish. You should stay away from fast food, candy, soda, and junk food for a day or two(to be sure not to hurt your body). No, I highly doubt you will die in your sleep, but a diet like that everyday can kill you. - Emily

4)   After you eat (especially foods like THAT) you shouldn't go to sleep promptly. Your stomach is stuffed right now so if you lay down you'll have difficulty breathing, which can result in death while sleeping should your body's system fail; just relax until the stuffy feeling in your gut is gone (may take an hour or a bit longer). If you were going to sleep you should always eat light. Best if they had something healthy in it more than meats, sweets and fried stuff.

BTW, I'm a former McD fan, but it betrayed me when it planned to go "healthy" so now whatever they cook is bland. Never eat there ever I say young lad lolololol. - cyberfiendkil
