Swine flu vaccination. Should the general public have it done or not (and why?)?

Question 1
Swine flu vaccination. Should the general public have it done or not (and why?)?...

Answers
1)   In Germany, they are not convinced it is safe, long term.

I have heard from a German Midwife who has contacts in the medical section (surgeons) that an additive to the jab to make it more potent has not been properly researched as to the long term effects! - ☆☆♥☆☆ ☆αℓℓ☆ ☆gσσ∂☆ ☆Thiηgs☆☆

2)   Yes, and I'll be in line as soon as it's available. Every vaccine or medicine has some risks associated with it. What you have to consider is if those risks associated with the medicine are more or less serious those associated with the disease. - TommyMc

3)   I think the answer to these mass vaccinations is that if enough people have them, then the flue will die out. It makes it safer for health care professionals and vulnerable people, as they will no longer be in contact with it. Logical really, but it requires action to be taken by a large proportion of the public for it to be effective. - Karen M

4)   Yes.

Note the additive that some Germans are freaking out about, squalene, is not in the American vaccine. It has also been used for decades and Europe and no one noticed until now. - Wise Duck

Question 2
Why do you think my friends think im lucky to have cancer?...  they all say they would rather have chemo then go to school????

Answers
1)   They sound like immature idiots who have no idea what they're talking about. - studentgirl84

2)   I'll start by saying that that's a really ignorant thing for them to say. I dont know how old your friends are but that could explain their ignorance. They say your lucky because they would rather not be in school and they might see you as someone who has sympathy and gets attention. They obviously havent cared to see it from your point of view where you are obviously very ill and im sure very scared. - ifuseekamyxx

3)   um, unless there kidding and are always there for you and understand what your giogn through, you hav very baad freinds. there beign retards and not helpful to you. some pople who haave cancer want to bel ike normal kids and go to skool. they do not! want to go through what ur giogn though. its hard to deal with for the poepl around you maybe thats how theyyre tryong to help you... but theyre beign stupid - xoxoester

1)   MRSA is primarily spread person to person via close skin contact, through cuts and abrasions and poor hygiene. See more here: http://www.examiner.com/x-7707-Infectious-Disease-Examiner~y2009m11d2-MRSA-decolonization-using-silver-ions - Infectious Diseases Today

2)   Yes you could. But in otherwise fit and healthy individuals MRSA can live in the nose and mouth, and on the skin, and not cause any problems.

See you GP if you are concerned. - Gavin

H1N1 Flu is an infectious disease, right?...  Are people born before 1950 immune to H1N1 Flu??

Answers
1)   yes and no - george 2

2)   Possibly but not necessarily.

Many people who were around during the swine flu outbreak in 1976 have been found to have an immunity to H1N1. Also, people over the age of 50 who have been getting an annual flu shot for most of their adult lives (all flu shots contain some form of the H1N1 virus) also appear to have partial immunity. - RoofingPrincess
