should i get the swine flu vaccine shot?

Question 1
should i get the swine flu vaccine shot?...  i dont want to get swine flu so should i take the vaccine shot to avoid getting the swine flu

Answers
1)   yes you should take it!!! without another thought take it. Its better to be safe than sorry. - munni MD

2)   There are pros and cons to the shot. For one thing, like most shots it is an active thing, meaning that it is the actual thing just in a small dose that the body is supposedly able to fight off. But there have been a lot of cases with the normal flu shot where people have gotten a very bad case of the flu along with the shot. The swine flu shot is active, and could very possibly have the same reaction. Another thing - The shot has been tested, but unlike the average routine shots, it hasn't been in circulation and tested for years. The government wanted the shot made quickly to help stop the spread of the swine flu, and it's only been tested and available for a few months. Many people have an issue with that, wondering if effects of the shot might possibly show in time. Also, the shot contains eggs or something similiar and so people with allergies to eggs cannot take it.
On the other hand if the shot IS safe, and doesn't make you sick soon after you take it, then it is beneficial to get because it will lower the chances of getting the swine flu which, unlike chicken pox, is possible to get again and again.
It's basicly the same principal as the normal flu shot except for the fact that it has not been tested or used as much and so there may be unexpected complications.
As for the Swine Flu itself, it is not that much different from the normal flu. People have died, yes, but thousands of people die of the normal flu every year. And although the news is talking about people who are young and fit getting it, you have to remember that they leave out the fact that lots of older and younger and sick people get it too. There is only a 1% chance that a person who contracts the swine flu will end up in critical condition. I'm not saying not to take the swine flu seriously, but do keep common sense on hand when watching the news or reading articles about it.

And remember - BOTH THE SHOT AND THE MIST HAVE THE LIVE STRAIN, also known as active - Danielle

3)   I'm not! They rushed to get those vaccines into the market and we don't know about side effects OR long term side effects. While many people have been asbolutely fine after taking the shot, many have not. Good luck with your decision.

You can also prevent swine flu from using hand sanitizer which might be as effective as the shot itself. - Lexi

4)   NO IT WILL MAKE U SICK! dont get it! - Janai

5)   might aswell
it'll hurt for a few days.
i got it on monday.
and my arms still sore.
but at least i know i'm safe =) - MONtANA

Question 2
really bad body acne... help!?...  I have severe acne on my back, and have had no luck with getting rid of it. It developed in August, and I assumed it was due to the strenuous outdoor activity I was doing then. However, it has only gotten worse despite my many attempts to rid myself of it. My back was 99% clear until August, and I am past frustration. Does anyone know of any inexpensive easy ways to get rid of it? or even of any special cleansers that have worked well in situations like this?

Answers
1)   I don't know if it will work for you but it has worked for me. (on my face)
Try mixing baking soda with a small amount of water and mix until you get something sort of like a paste. Only use it every other day or else you skin will get extremely dry. - Orphen

2)   I did some research and talked to my doctor to find the most common causes of acne.

• Hormones: The number one cause of acne is the production of sex hormones, known as androgen, that begins at puberty. This is why majority of acne sufferers are adolescents and teens. Hormones are responsible for then acne flare-ups during menstruation and pregnancy.

• When the sebaceous gland is stimulated by androgens, it produces extra sebum. In its journey up the follicle toward the surface, the sebum mixes with common skin bacteria and dead skin cells that have been shed from the lining of the follicle. While this process is normal, the presence of extra sebum in the follicle increases the chances of clogging — and acne.

• Stress: can also cause the production of hormones, such as cortisol, which can aggravate acne. Stress brings upon different hormone levels. With hormone changes the body prompts the skins oil glands to enlarge, secreting more oil. Which causes white heads, black heads and pimples.

• Oily or heavy make up: Heavy make-up clogs the pores and oily make-ups add more oil, which only adds to the problem if oily skin already exists. Cosmetics, especially certain moisturizers, foundations and pomades contain lanolin, petrolatum, vegetable oils, butyl stearate, lauryl alcohol and oleic acid.

• Certain medications and steroids: Vitamins are good for your body, But an excess of vitamins B1, B6 and B12 can cause acne flare-ups. These vitamins are good for the skin, but avoid overuse.

• Diets: For some people, a diet that is high in refined carbohydrates and sugars can actually aggravate their acne.

• Over abrasive cleansing: Harsh exfoliators can damage skin and spread infections.

• Picking and squeezing: This can actually send the infection deeper into the skin and can cause scarring.

• Environmental irritants: such as high humidity and pollution. High humidity actually causes swelling of skin. Pollution is of course is a big cause for clogging your pores.

• Genes: Family members who are also acne sufferers. Acne is inherited and severe cases known as cystic acne usually come from heredity.

And..,

People suffering from mild or moderate body acne, I heartily recommend the Clear Pores System. Hard to treat cases are better left to a dermatologist’s skills, although ClearPores is certainly up to the task.

The best way to treat acne is to cleanse the skin with a solution containing Salicylic Acid and SD Alcohol 40. The ClearPores body and face washes contain these two excellent ingredients, which are accompanied by the well-known Aloe Vera (to soothe the skin and help the healing process), Dandelion Root and Yellow Dock.

See its official site: http://www.clearpores.com/clicks/clickth…

Also...keep your body skin clean every day and be careful not to trigger acne or rashes by wearing very tight clothing or heavy backpacks. If you feel your clothing, backpack or purse is causing you skin problems, then start thinking about alternatives.

Good luck ! - SaraMD

3)   I Tried Everything the last thing i did was apply toothpaste on each pimple the day after the pimple was gone i suggest you try it. It might work! - Daysi
