Are these Hives, or what!? (pic)?

Question 1
Are these Hives, or what!? (pic)?...  I'm tired of these rashes or whatever all over my arms. They itch a lot! They come and go and spread and decrease in amount all the time. Plus they're just nasty looking! I'm wondering if these are hives or something else?

That's the hives or rash...sorry if its hard to see...

Do they look like hives? if they are what do I do about them?

Answers
1)   OMG U ARE INFECTED. Run around in circles yelling OMGOMGOMG! - Alex

2)   Yes they look like hives. You can take an anti histamine like benadryl or claritin. You should see your doctor to find out the cause. - Alan K

3)   maby dishydrosis.. but i doubt it because of its placement..eczema of some sort.. - Kyle

4)   From what i see, they just look like an allergic reaction from something, like something you were allergic to touched you there. I get those bumps form time to time (every other year) and they mostly just go away. I would still see a doctor about them though, as my family is poor and i cannot afford seeing a doctor for minor-looking things. - Lee

5)   yep!!! used to get them all the time!!!!!!
take benedril. thats what i used to use to make them stop itching but had to eventually go to the dermetologist to get regular meds. they subsided since i got older. - im bored 2

6)   It's hard to tell from the picture. Do you feel as if blood is rushing to where the hives/rashes appear at? If you have that sensation then it's probably hives. For now, go and take 2 Benadryl for every 6 or so hours (Claritin doesn't work). When you have the time, go to a physician and tell him/her about it. Since hives is an auto-immune disease, the physician should prescribe you Methylprednisolone or something similar (oral steroids, but not strong enough to get any harmful side affects).

Good luck - gmerc

7)   Hi well I would try any otc (over the counter) antihistamine such as benadryl but also bathe in aveeno, its a form of milky oatmeal solution that calms the skin from irritations...see what happens..good luck - Debbie R

4)   It sounds like it could be either eczema or the beginnings of psoriasis. Try putting moisturizing lotion on it for awhile, and see if that helps. If it begins to form in other spots of your body, I recommend talking to a dermatologist to see if it is psoriasis. If it remains unbothersome though, I wouldn't worry too much about it. There's no sense in spending a lot of money to see a dermatologist if it's not causing you a lot of problems. - Erin
