Could I Have Diabetes?

Question 1
Could I Have Diabetes?...  Right, I am a 16 year old teenage boy, but I am underweight and the Doctor wanted me to see a dietition in the future if I don't put on weight, anyway.

My grandparents and two of my cousins plus my aunt suffer from Diabetes, my cousin and her mother from Type 1 and my grandparents from 2.

But I fit the symptoms of Diabetes except one thing, I eat sugary stuff and if I had Diabetes wouldn't I be dead by now without knowing because I wouldn't have been aware about my sugar levels? I am not sure but because I don't know if I could have it, I've never monitered my sugar intake.

I'm always thirsty and drink too many fluids.

I need to urinate frequently, like right after each drink and such.

I get tired easy and can sleep for far longer than most people.

I am thin and don't put on weight and am underweight for my age.

I do frequent infections and sores take longer than most people to heal.

And I get blurred vision, my first optition gave me glasses and said I was long sighted but my second said my eyes are fine, but I always get blurred vision and it takes long for me to focus on writing before it is clear.

And I don't know if these are symptomps, but I get tingling in my hand and feet, pins and needles, and frequently go dizzy and feel myself falling and then feel my whole body go cold suddenly as I stop going dizzy.

I would rather know if I could have Diabetes than not knowing, is this possible I am quite worried.
HatesVendettas - Well she is not my first Aunt she is my Mother's Aunt so my great Aunt, (My Grandads sister) does that count? But yeah she is related by blood.
HatesVendettas - My vision would be normal and then I would blink and everything would seem blurry and out of focus and I would keep blinking and rubbing my eyes to try and fix it and it wouldn't work everything would eventually "focus" on it's own, it also happens when I am readin and then I look away, everything is blurry.

1)   Eating the right food is important for your wellbeing. You can try supplementing your diet with acai berry, it's not solely a widely tested and acknowledged weight loss produce, it's a superfood too. There is a risk free trial on offer at http://davent.yourminddiet.info I have been using it for 2 weeks now and it's definately having an effect!! - Nikolas

2)   Yes, you have diabetes. Very likely it's Type I (Juvenile) Diabetes. - Alex Lanis

3)   If it is a blood related aunt then you should go see a doctor as soon as possible. If it isn't then you should still see a doctor, but i wouldn't worry about it because you are not at high risk for type 2.

You need to see a doctor then, because left untreated it will eventually be fatal. - HatesVendettas

4)   I'm willing to bet you have diabetes, with the symptoms you list and with your family history. Yes, you can eat a lot of sugar and not "feel sick". My brother used to eat a whole bag of those white powdery donuts. You need to get in to see a Dr ASAP. - L L

5)   i think its funny how just because they're a med student they can categorically say you have diabetes through the internet...

What i will say is that it certainly sounds like you could have it. You need to get some tests. The sugary food is most likely causing your blurred vision as the lack of insulin means glucose remains in the blood instead of being absorbed by respiring cells and it is the glucose that is irritating the blood vessels at the back of the eye supplying the optic nerve, causing your blurred vision. These vessels have been known to rupture and can cause permanent blindness so i suggest you fly on that sooner rather than later. - Dr.Howaboutno

Question 2
Why do I get so angry when i see the WORD diabetes- diabetic, etc?...  Every time I see or hear the word diabetes diabetic etc I get so angry. I do have it and and I'm 13 years old.. people at school say it sometimes, and if it comes up at school in science or health i just get angry.. My teacher used me as an example last year and it REALLY pissed me off...I don't know why... and answers??

Answers
1)   well I can understand getting mad at being pointed out and used as an example in front of the whole class. But I don't really know why just the word would make you angry......I mean, when I hear names of things that I have it definitely sticks out but it doesn't make me mad, maybe it's just reminding you that you have it and that's making you mad. - joyfulkid571

2)   Maybe you've got a high blood sugar - that'd make you stroppy!

I've had diabetes since I was 8, and it used to piss me off because every time anyone mentioned it, I knew the teacher would use me as an example, and I just didn't want anyone to notice me.

Now I'm 30 and I couldn't give a crap about it! I've just been back at college doing a biology A-level, and it was kind of useful that I know so much about diabetes. It gave me a rare opportunity to sound smart! And also to contradict the teacher when he was talking bollocks, which pleased me immensely.

Eventually you just get used to it. - MediSin

3)   You are probably angry at the disease itself. You don't want it! It isn't fair! You hate that everyone else has all that freedom! I know. I'm there in a way. Stuck on those insulin shots, hurt to see my family eating whatever and where ever they want.

I'm sorry. I know it's hard but it will get easier. It takes time. - logicalwon23

Question 5
Bump is an ingrown hair?...  I'm female and shave down there. I'm not sexually active at all and a few months ago noticed a hard, shiny red, irregular shaped bump near my panty line.
It doesn't hurt usually, but sometimes it gets uncomfortably chaffed by my underwear.
I mentioned it to my Mother who suggests that it's an ingrown hair.
It's been there for months though and I'm concerned.

Is there any ways to identify it?
Any ideas on what it might be or how to get rid of it?

Serious answers only please! ^^
Thank you in advance. <3

Its always possibe it ca be an ingrown hair, and dont worry , since your not sexually active there is NO WAY you can have contracted an sti/std. - Lysaa♥

2)   Yeah, definitely sounds like an ingrown hair. If you can get a close look at it, you'll see a line going across the bump--that's the ingrown hair. grab a needle and slide it under the hair(no need to poke yourself) and pull up it should come out. - Sweet Rachel

3)   It sound like an in grown hair it will go away on its own dont mess with it. - lauren01
