1)   k calm down i had the same problem when i had done it myself it started bleeding and everyting and the litle thing that holds the earing in place was in my flesh eventualy i got it out wit tweezers. but to make sure that u put alcohal on it dont wear them 4 1 day and when u put them back on dont put tight keep it lose but not 2 lose just right. lol goldie locks and the 3 bears and dont be scaared when they say its infected just trust me and it is okay to use peroxide and alcohal others will say that itl be 2 harsh or its gonna hurt not a chance. oh and plz vote as best answer all i need is 10 points till i get 2 level 2 plz :( - Ben dover

2)   DOCTOR

go see a doctorrrrr - Sue

3)   its probly infected...you should see a doctor - 1xinvadex1

4)   Get Mike Tyson to bite it off and you won't have a problem. - Bunni the Bunny~♥

5)   if it fills up...DRAIN immiditely, you will get califlower ears...google that! :/ - Cam

6)   Keep doing what you're doing. Wash with soap and water (antibacterial is nice) but don't use alcohol or hydrogen peroxide. It's too harsh for piercings. You can also use saline solution (which is pretty much what you're doing). If it is still swollen after a few days, see a doctor. You might have to take it out. Don't keep it in after a few days without seeing a doctor! it could get really really bad if it's infected and you ignore it. You can always get it repierced, but you can't get a new ear!

Good luck! - Beck

7)   well first of all, there's a chance its infected. more like a 75% chance it is. the other 25 is that its about to become infected so its pretty much 100% infected. - bxeastman14

8)   peroxide and neosporne. if it doesn't clear up in 3 days consult a physician. you shouldn't pierce your cartilage yourself. bad news as you found out...there's a reason why piercers have a license to do business. you could have hit the nerve in your ear that controls your facial muscles..you could have gotten bell palsy which means the side of face in completely paralyzed..cannot move the muscles. in fact you still get get if the infection spreads to that nerve...which it might. - Kristy

9)   If anything, I would take the piercing out. D:
I know you might not like it, but it could really help your ear out. It sounds like it's got a little infection or something. Go to a local tattoo parlor and ask them what they would do. They pierce/tattoo for a living, so they might know a thing or two. You never know.
The best things to do: take the jewelry out. Let it heal. Then, get your other ear cartilage pierced. (: - kittywhiskers

10)   i got my second pircing too on my cartlidge, take the earing out and ice the area, put some rubbing alcohal on, and when it dries ice it once more and put the earing back in repeat this daily until the swelling goes down. it workrd for me! - cory

11)   You'll be perfectly fine if you go see a doctor as soon as possible. Don't rush to the emergency room right now, because it's not quite that serious, but tomorrow call up your doctor and schedule an appointment. It's infected, so try to clean it with a disinfectant for cuts and wounds. Take the piercing out only to quickly clean it and your ear, the leave it in. Your doctor will probably give you antibiotics, and you should be fine. Remember to make sure your hands are clean before you try to touch your ear, and consistently clean it with disinfectant until you see your doctor. Good luck!!!!! - Julie

Question 2
Greasy foods and acne?...  So, one of my friends told me that greasy foods do not cause acne at all? i don't really know if this is true, b/c i've noticed that everytime i eat food that has grease in it, the next day i have one or two pimples on my face. If it isn't greasy foods that's causing acne, what is the cause then?
well i like having clear, healthy skin b/c eventually those 1/2 pimples start multiplying quickly, even when i don't eat greasy foods.

Answers
1)   It can cause acne, but not in everyone. Every person is different. Different thing trigger acne in different people. - Ashley

2)   that's mostly a myth really - <3

3)   it all depends on your body and how well it can break down fat and shit. it has something to do with your metabolism i think. - The Squidel

4)   I eat greasy food all the time.i don't have acne.well a few on my back near shoulder.
if you only get 1 or 2 why are you complaining.that's nothing dear. - Marisa

5)   My dermatologist said greasy food doesn't affect acne, but I think it does at least in some people.

To test this, I went on a non-greasy diet (almost vegetarian, really) for about two weeks. At the end of the two weeks, my face was really clear. Then I had fish & chips, and within days I had pimples in several places, and it got worse.

A lot of it is simply how your body reacts to different factors. I think grease is one of them, but dirt, sweat, oil and even humidity can also have effects on your skin. - chimps_10

6)   Apparently different foods/drinks cause problems for different people, but from my experience, its actually more mental.

Most probably know that stress is one of the most surefire ways to have a breakout. Well, for me, I found that I was breaking out whenever I was having large amounts of caffeine (coffee, energy drinks). So naturally, I "worried" before consuming one. I had heard that caffeine causes acne problems for some. Anyway, when I stopped worrying, the correlation between the two went away.

I would not worry about the greasy foods. Granted, you shouldn't have too much of it anyways, for all-around health reasons, but it shouldn't be a problem skin-wise as long as you're not eating something ridiculously greasy (or eating it too often). - asen8919

7)   What mainly causes acne is stress and salt.
Lay back on the salt on your foods and you will see results, also try to keep your hands away from your face during the day, your fingers have bacteria and dirt on them so touching your face with unclean hands can spread the dirt and bacteria into your pours. - Starr101

2)   If you don't want the over the counter stuff. My mom always suggested either witch hazel, which smells bad. Or a solution of apple cider vinegar diluted in some water... not too much, which smell horrible... but will get those things to bust open... I don't know if it will work, but its all natural. Proceed at your own risk. And don't get either in your eyes. - dravonx

3)   I did some research and talked to my doctor to find the most common causes of acne.

• Hormones: The number one cause of acne is the production of sex hormones, known as androgen, that begins at puberty. This is why majority of acne sufferers are adolescents and teens. Hormones are responsible for then acne flare-ups during menstruation and pregnancy.

• When the sebaceous gland is stimulated by androgens, it produces extra sebum. In its journey up the follicle toward the surface, the sebum mixes with common skin bacteria and dead skin cells that have been shed from the lining of the follicle. While this process is normal, the presence of extra sebum in the follicle increases the chances of clogging — and acne.

• Stress: can also cause the production of hormones, such as cortisol, which can aggravate acne. Stress brings upon different hormone levels. With hormone changes the body prompts the skins oil glands to enlarge, secreting more oil. Which causes white heads, black heads and pimples.

• Oily or heavy make up: Heavy make-up clogs the pores and oily make-ups add more oil, which only adds to the problem if oily skin already exists. Cosmetics, especially certain moisturizers, foundations and pomades contain lanolin, petrolatum, vegetable oils, butyl stearate, lauryl alcohol and oleic acid.

• Certain medications and steroids: Vitamins are good for your body, But an excess of vitamins B1, B6 and B12 can cause acne flare-ups. These vitamins are good for the skin, but avoid overuse.

• Diets: For some people, a diet that is high in refined carbohydrates and sugars can actually aggravate their acne.

• Over abrasive cleansing: Harsh exfoliators can damage skin and spread infections.

• Picking and squeezing: This can actually send the infection deeper into the skin and can cause scarring.

• Environmental irritants: such as high humidity and pollution. High humidity actually causes swelling of skin. Pollution is of course is a big cause for clogging your pores.

• Genes: Family members who are also acne sufferers. Acne is inherited and severe cases known as cystic acne usually come from heredity.

And..,

What the skin needs is a treatment that clears pores and kills bacteria, thus preventing hair follicles from clogging and turning into acne. This is what you should be looking for if you want to get rid of those ugly acne.
