4)   I am allergic beyond belief to poison ivy. You can get a steroid shot to reduce inflammation. Try baking soda and water to make a paste. Cover your arms with it. This will take out the itch. Also Calamine lotion is the miracle itch reliever, lol. - Amy S

5)   There is no real instant cure. You could go to the doctor and get prescribed "Prednisone" which is a steroid they prescribe for allergic reactions, or possibly got a Cortisone shot. You should go to a drug store, and get some Anti-Itch cream and above all don't scratch it. I like to get a heat-wrap and put it on the rash, it always seems to make it feel better and scratch less. Poison Ivy is annoying as hell, but it will go away... eventually. - John

Question 2
Do You Know Anyone Who Has Beaten Terminal Cancer?...  I know what terminal means, but I do believe in miracles.

Answers
1)   no i haven't but im sure someone has.... - Peter

2)   No, you obviously don't know what terminal means. It can only be described as being terminal cancer if the person has died. Until that point, it's not terminal, as life is not terminated.

You are asking if I know anyone who has risen from the dead.

No, I don't. - Entwined

3)   Yes, I lost my best friends mother, more like my own mom to breast cancer. She beat it the first time for 5 years but then came back in her lymph nodes.

But my ex boss' husband had pancreatic cancer, stage 3. He only had a 5% survival chance. Last I heard from her he was still cancer free.

He used American Cancer Centers and Cyber Knife.
He was VERY healthy before hand. I think that played a major role too. - jolene'scurse

4)   No. Like you, I do believe in miracles, however. Life IS a miracle in itself. And I have known people who lived 10 years or longer of good quality life with what began as a very bleak prognosis of death. The will to live seems to make a critical difference for these people. They don't have time for hopelessness; they feel a reason to live that compells them and keeps them feeling well longer than any medical professional would expect. - American Splendor

5)   My son had a leukemia that was considered a terminal disease. He was cured. He was 10 months old. They said he wouldn't live to see 2 years old. He is now 13. God has plans for him. We have been so blessed. - Rae

6)   I strongly believe the body is an evolutionary miracle and what you put into it will produce an outcome.

You can heal all forms of illness including cancer by eating the right foods.

What happens when you cut yourself? You bleed and then you heal.. The body wants to heal, the body is a natural healer, but eating fried chicken, french fries and other junk food will not give the body what it needs to function or heal..

Detox is the start of any cure and healthy eating and living is the only way to beat cancer or stop cancer from spreading...

Chemotherapy kills 95% of all patients within the first 5 years.

look up the gerson protocol or detox sites.

I hope this helps.
Brian - Brian

7)   Yes, I have had several patients who were said to be terminally ill with cancer, and went on to other physicians who were using newer and more cutting edge treatments for their cancer, and were ultimately cured.

One went to the Memorial Sloan Cancer Center in NY City

One went to Henrico Doctors Hospital in Richmond Virginia and was treated with a linear accelerator.

One went to University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville Virginia

And the last one went to the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota.

Occasionally, what is terminal cancer in Duluth, is not quite so terminal when you find the physician elsewhere who is working on cutting edge experimental treatments on the specific cancer your patient may have.

It is important not to give false hope because people have a right to spend whatever time they have left doing the things they wish in a limited lifespan, however, there is hope.

Best wishes. - chafarm123

Question 3
How to get rid of my stupid acne?...  I am so sick of this. I've had zits here and there for a few years, but now it seems to be a consistent speckling of painful acne. I'm almost 16 and my face is oily in the forehead, chin, and nose. I get blackheads a lot and would absolutely love to get rid of those. I've recently started to get acne on my cheeks, whereas it is usually on the sides of the nose, the chin, and forehead.

What products could you recommend?
Any natural remedies?

Thank you!

3)   I wish I could recommend a miracle cure, but there is none. I had acne in my teens and twentys. The only thing that helped was getting my hormones under control. I take a birth control pill called Yasmin each day. I do not take the sugar pills and therefore my hormone level is constant and doesnt go up and down, which is what was causing my acne.
However, seeing you are only 16 a doctor may not recommend this to you. For me controlling my hormones was the only thing that made a difference.
Good luck, I know how terrible bad skin can make you feel. - Kellie - My Health Software

4)   Heres some steps to get rid of your acne:

Step 1
Natural treatment for acne can start with changing the diet. Replace the junk and processed food with vegetables and fruits. These foods help to improve the immune system which is a natural defense against the harmful bacteria that cause acne. The outside of the body reflects what is consumed so changing dietary intake is the beginning of naturally getting ride of acne. Ensure food choices are rich in vitamin A and E and include Pantothenic Acid. These vitamins are essential for keeping your skin healthy and preventing acne and the subsequent scars. Drink a lot of water will also keep skin healthy and helps to remove toxins from the inside out.

Step 2
Cleanse your skin with soaps that do not include chemicals and help retain the pH balance of your skin. Wash the face several times a day. Avoid ‘popping pimples’ or the acne can get more inflamed. Once the pimple is open dirt and bacteria are forced back into the pore making the infection even worse.

Step 3
Use food as the base for topical treatments for getting rid of acne naturally.
• Break and egg and save the egg white. With a disposable makeup sponge dab the egg white onto the acne affected area and leave on for at least 30 minutes. For best results leave on overnight. Wash off thoroughly. This will help dry out the acne.
• A natural treatment for drying out acne, without drying out the skin, is to rub the peel of a cucumber, wet side up, over the acne affected area and leave on overnight. Wash thoroughly in the morning.
• Mix 2 teaspoons of cornstarch with 1 teaspoon of vinegar. Apply on the acne area for 30 minutes. Wash thoroughly with warm water and a washcloth.
• Garlic is a natural remedy for many conditions and acne is one of them.
Add 1 teaspoon garlic juice with a little petroleum jelly and apply to the acne.
• To keep acne blemished skin smooth make a mixture of 1 cup plain yogurt and juice from one half of a lemon. Apply this natural acne cream each night before going to bed. Keep this acne cream in the refrigerator. Smoother skin effects should be noticeable in 3 – 4 weeks. - Bryant

5)   I did some research and talked to my doctor to find the most common causes of acne.

• Hormones: The number one cause of acne is the production of sex hormones, known as androgen, that begins at puberty. This is why majority of acne sufferers are adolescents and teens. Hormones are responsible for then acne flare-ups during menstruation and pregnancy.

• When the sebaceous gland is stimulated by androgens, it produces extra sebum. In its journey up the follicle toward the surface, the sebum mixes with common skin bacteria and dead skin cells that have been shed from the lining of the follicle. While this process is normal, the presence of extra sebum in the follicle increases the chances of clogging — and acne.

• Stress: can also cause the production of hormones, such as cortisol, which can aggravate acne. Stress brings upon different hormone levels. With hormone changes the body prompts the skins oil glands to enlarge, secreting more oil. Which causes white heads, black heads and pimples.

• Oily or heavy make up: Heavy make-up clogs the pores and oily make-ups add more oil, which only adds to the problem if oily skin already exists. Cosmetics, especially certain moisturizers, foundations and pomades contain lanolin, petrolatum, vegetable oils, butyl stearate, lauryl alcohol and oleic acid.

• Certain medications and steroids: Vitamins are good for your body, But an excess of vitamins B1, B6 and B12 can cause acne flare-ups. These vitamins are good for the skin, but avoid overuse.

• Diets: For some people, a diet that is high in refined carbohydrates and sugars can actually aggravate their acne.

• Over abrasive cleansing: Harsh exfoliators can damage skin and spread infections.

• Picking and squeezing: This can actually send the infection deeper into the skin and can cause scarring.

• Environmental irritants: such as high humidity and pollution. High humidity actually causes swelling of skin. Pollution is of course is a big cause for clogging your pores.

• Genes: Family members who are also acne sufferers. Acne is inherited and severe cases known as cystic acne usually come from heredity.

And..,

What the skin needs is a treatment that clears pores and kills bacteria, thus preventing hair follicles from clogging and turning into acne. This is what you should be looking for if you want to get rid of those ugly acne.

Question 5
Why do we scratch our mosquito bites?...

Answers
1)   Because the mosquito releases a toxin into our body when it bites, that causes swelling, and a small pain, which feels like an itch. - Hello. (:

2)   When the female mosquito stabs her needle-like proboscis into your skin to suck out your blood, she injects you with her saliva. This is filled with digestive enzymes and anticoagulants, and it helps her drink more quickly. Your body reacts to the saliva by producing histamine. This makes the blood vessels near the bite enlarge, and so a pink, swollen, and itchy bump appears.

Since the bite is so itchy, you can't help but scratch it. The problem is, this irritates the bite, which makes it inflamed, and causes it to itch more. The best thing to do is avoid scratching at all costs. Wash the area with soap and water, and apply an anti-itch cream, like Cortaid. I have found that applying an ice pack helps too. - Bryant
