Red Boil-like thing on thigh?

Question 1
Red Boil-like thing on thigh?...  Not to get too graphic, but a few weeks ago after having a not REALLY sexual encounter, (dry sex), i noticed a little red boil on my thigh. I figured it was a burn from the friction, gross i know, and I just let it slide. 11 days later it's still here. It shrank and the surrounding area is no longer really red but it seems filled with liquid and is soft to the touch. I want to just make sure there isn't anything I should be doing for this like popping it or anything. To be clear: The skin is a round red and soft liquid filled blister or boil. It doesnt match the descriptions or pictures of any STDs and I'm pretty sure I'm fine, but having this thing for so long is freaking me out. There is only one and everything else is fine.
Thanks for reading & answering

1)   Could be cellulitis - a quick round of antibiotics from your doctor will clear it up. - Niner

2)   you need antibiotics for 10 days for it to go away.if you dont go see the doc the area can become infected and they will have to slice that area to get the infection out go asap these are called boils/staph. dont miss with it its really no big deal unless untreated
been ther - hollywood

3)   Don't worry too much hun. It is probably no big deal. It could also be somesort of ingrown hair, pimple, or like you said a boil which can be very common in this area. It also may be just irritated from the friction and the rubbing; if this was a spot where there was rubbing.

I would put a warm wash cloth on it, or take a hot bath to help the irritation go down. Then I would was the area with anitbacterial soap. If it does not clear up within a week or if the area becomes progressively worse, I would go to a doctor since it could be something that needs a prescription like antibiotics to clear it up.

But for now I wouldn't worry. Weird things happen to the human body all the time! :) - O...sh*t

Question 2
Do I have strep throat?...  The other night I went to a concert and the next morning I woke up with a scratchy throat. I assumed my throat was scratchy from yelling and stuff, but it's been 3 days since and my throat is still scratchy and now starting to get a little sore. Is this the beginning of strep or is it just a really bad sore throat?

Answers
1)   If you look in the back of your throat and you see white bumps.. or just any type of blister that could mean you have strep. The only way to cure strep is with antibiotics. - Lala

2)   look down the back of ur throat is it swollen? is there white spots on ur tonsils? swelling n white spots are signs strep (they look like whiteheads) but its not contagious unless u have a fever (so check ur temp) but cover ur mouth when coughing! ur best bet is to call ur doc cus if u have strep u need a antibiotic. get some rest - Em_Lou02

3)   Hmm... it's hard to say. The only way to know for sure is to go to the doctor and get a strep test done (now they are able to get results within minutes). But here's some subjective info from someone who's had strep a few times:
1) Strep hurts. Really bad. It's not your casual sore throat. If I had been asked to rate my pain on a scale from 1-10, it would have been around a 7. I couldn't eat or sleep. In short, strep is a bitch. If you throat hurts this bad, just get into the doctor.
2) I also noticed that the pain was superior - almost just below the nasal cavity...

I hope this has helped. The bottom line is that strep is a serious illness. It can have long-term health implications if left untreated. So, if you suspect strep, just get into the doctor. Good luck, and feel better! - wanderingfeet

Question 3
Why is my skin like this?...  Ok im only 14 so im sure its not something serious but for the past like 5 years my arms/hands are always red, dry, and scaly looking. And then alot of times on my hands, there will be like red and white spots and it just looks really wierd. People always comment about my skin, and im just so tired of it because i look at everyone elses skin and its like smooth and perfect...i mean seriosly.. i tell my mom and she just says "thats just your natural skin color" but what about the scaly, dry and spot part? Is this a health problem or is it normal? Also i forgot to mention...its only like that at school..? Like right now im sitting at my desk right here and my skin is at least 3x less red than at school, also there are no spots, and it doesnt look as dry. What could be causing all this please help

Answers
1)   you have a condition. you should see a dermatologist. Psoriasis ? - someone

2)   Try rubbing vitamin E oil on your hands before you go to bed every night, and sleep with cotton gloves on. Wash your hands frequently, also. And the part about school, I think they appear to be more red because of the florescent lighting. School lighting makes everything look different than it actually is. I've had problems with my hands before too, and vitamin E has usually fixed it for me. :]

Good luck, kid.

Question 4
What acne fighting product works best?...  So far i have used skin id and clean and clear and i dont like the results so far. Im thinking about proactive but im going to see what you guys answer.

Answers
1)   proactive works at first then doesn't have any effect once your skin is used to it. i had bad acne. i used proactive, cleared it up a bit then stopped using it. i use the garnier pure line now. it's pretty good. remember to wash your face every time it gets oily. and i have a trick; soak your skin in really warm water for a few minutes. then lather with the cleanser, leave the cleanser on for about a minute then wash it off with COLD water. this tightens the pores and prevents future breakouts. hope it works on you too! good luck! - peyton blair summers

2)   I got Preparation H & Proper Ph mixed up....... I don't have any pimples on my butt, but, my face is shrinking - The Heckler

Question 5
Feels like a bruise, looks like a scrape. The skin over it is smooth but it hurts and is sore.?...

Answers
1)   sounds like what i have i really dont have an answer for you but i have the same thing and atm im trying to figure out what it is - Sasori

2)   It sounds like a bruise, they can be sore and take on all kinds of appearances and colors. Try ice packs, 20 minutes on 20 minutes off, and see if that will help with the pain.
If in a few days you don't see improvement, or if it should suddenly get worse, I would go see your doctor.
Good Luck, I hope you feel better soon! - Carandy1
