From the middle of the arch on my foot to the toes is pealing, from the middle back my heal is dry, itches?

Question 1
From the middle of the arch on my foot to the toes is pealing, from the middle back my heal is dry, itches?...  I've never had this before - it started a couple of months ago but I figured it would go away. It has not. My entire foot itches and sometimes are worse than others. I'm not sure what is wrong with my feet or if there is a foot scrub or powder I can put on them - any suggestions?

Answers
1)   Before you go to the doctor I would go to the store and get some medicine for Athletes foot. Make sure you follow the instructions on the box to the "T" or it won't go away. That stuff is pesky. If it doesn't stop, then I would go to a dermatologist if possible. If not, your regular doctor will give you something. - Anna S

2)   My toes are pealy. They arent ichy but they sure are peeling. i dont know what it is from. I just leave it because mine isnt as bad as yours. And its just my toes. Sometimes i do put cream on them though. Mine is weirdd. It goes away for a while but then the next time i look its all peeling again. But i usually just let it peel off itself. . But since yours is kinda your whole foot i would just start off puting cream on them. Any cream i think. If that does work then maybe try powder or a foot scrub. Hope i helped! - Ashley

4)   To me, that sounds like Athlete's foot. It's quite simple really, it starts by sweating to much, or having moist feet often. You can treat it with various different things such as foot powders, pretty much with anything that will dry your feet, whilst doing sport etc.

If you keep your feet dry, and this is still happening, Then i would consider going to a doctor or dermatologist. :)

I hope I helped. - Zak H

Question 2
It's the start of term, Thread worms are at my kids school, are there a food that will discourage or kill them?...  Hi aparently worms are passed by touching something an infected person has, then the hands going in the mouth, not a problem as an adult but my very young kids don't follow such strict rules.YUK!

My kids have been given medicine for it already but is there a food i can add to the families diet that will discourage worms, for instance I'm thinking herbs or spices.
perhaps there is a fruit or veg that could help.

Answers
1)   I have used every diet known to mankind but nothing worked as good as acai berry. I realize they say that pills don't work, nevertheless they certainly worked for me, and they've been shown on CBS News too. There's a free trial happening at the moment at http://suveng.fitnessfestival.info , try it, what have you got to lose? - Lindsey

2)   Garlic, Ginger, Citrus, Apple. . - George

3)   You can take 1 tbsp of freshly grated coconut first thing in the morning, and then have 30 to 60 ml of castor oil added to 250 to 375 ml of warm milk after 3 to 4 hours. You can repeat this daily till all the symptoms of threadworm are alleviated. In addition to this, garlic is a miracle for treating all kinds of worms. You should use garlic liberally in your food preparations and if possible chew three cloves of garlic first thing every morning and then drink 2 glasses of water to wash it down and cleanse your system. If you can chew the garlic, you can also swallow them whole. It is also said that placing a clove of garlic in each shoe is beneficial for treating worms, because the garlic gets crushed the oil of the garlic slowly seeps into the skin and thus enters the system directly, killing the worms. Carrots are also invaluable in treating threadworms and you should consume a bowl of grated carrots every morning and with every meal. The milky juice of raw papaya is very good for treating worms. You should consume 1 tbsp of the juice of a raw papaya mixed with 1 tbsp of honey and 3 to 4 tbsp of warm water every morning. You should wash this down with the mixture of castor oil and warm milk for best results. Alternately you can dry and powder papaya seeds and have 1 tsp of this powder with 1 cup of water or milk first thing in the morning. Pumpkin seeds are also renowned for treating intestinal worms. You can peel and crush the pumpkin seeds and add 1 tbsp to 250 ml of boiling water and drink this infusion daily till the symptoms are gone.

Conventional anti-worm medication can cause stomach upsets and abdominal pain, so it’s worth trying a natural approach. Homeopathy is probably the best bet for children, as it’s so straightforward. Go for Cina 6c if your child has an itchy bottom, is much hungrier than usual, irritable and out of sorts, and possibly has dark rings under their eyes. Give one dose morning and evening for one week. If there’s a dramatic improvement before the end of the week, stop giving the remedy. If the symptoms return, start the treatment again.

If this doesn’t work, or you feel your child’s symptoms don’t really match the remedy, you should take your child to see a homeopath. A consultation is also a good idea if your child has had more than one bout of worms, as constitutional treatment can help build up their resistance to further infestations.

There are also a number of Western and Chinese herbs, including capsicum, senna, liquorice, wormwood and quassia, which are said to clear worms, but it’s best to see a herbalist for a prescription.

* Essential oils including lavender, lemon, peppermint, thyme and black pepper are thought to help expel worms. The way to use these is by adding two drops to a tablespoon of grapeseed or sweet almond oil and massaging them into the abdomen before bed. A couple of drops mixed in vaseline and applied around the anus will help prevent the worms laying eggs and relieve the itching
* Bach Flower Rescue Remedy can help if your child is very upset at the thought of having worms, or is distressed by the itching. If they feel unclean because of them, try crab apple. Take as directed on the bottle
* Acidophilus tablets, taken for a few weeks after your child is clear of worms, will help get the gut and bowel back to normal.

# Worms feed on sugar, so try to cut out all sugary foods including honey
# They don’t like onions, garlic, cayenne pepper and pumpkin seeds, so if you can get your child to eat these it can help prevent further infestations
# Eating plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables will help build up resistance to worms and the body to recover afterwards. - steamroller98439

4)   The worms can survive harsh conditions and changing your diet is probably not going to harm the worms.

"To treat threadworm you should use a treatment like Vermox or Combantrin-1, which contain mebendazole, or Combantrin, which contains pyrantel embonate as the active ingredient. Mebendazole is an anthelmintic that works by interfering with the proteins in either the worm's intestine or absorptive cells. This inhibits the threadworms' ability to absorb glucose (sugars) which depletes them of the energy that they need to survive. As a result the threadworm dies within several days. Pyrantel embonate, a "neuro-muscular blocking agent", causes paralysis of the threadworm's nervous system. The paralysed worms are then expelled in the faeces by the normal actions of the bowel".

3)   plastic surgeon cannot really get rid of the scars..

Go to a local clinic and have them first determine if they CAN be removed (I only say this because you said 'freckles' and if they are that small of a mole, and flat to the surface of your skin, it probably cant be removed)

I just got two removed by a plastic surgeon in a clinic... It's 500 / mole, and I have little pink scars.. They slowly fade away though - Nikki

4)   Ask your dermatologist what procedure they recommend, and what the expected results would be. They may have some procedures, such as laser therapy, that would result in less scars. I would make an appointment with the dermatologist and discuss options. - SkyeB

Question 5
I Have A Yest Infection And It Won't Go Away!!!?...  Ok Like EEEEEEEEEEWW! I Wear Cotton Underwear And When I Change It There’s Always Wight Crap On It! And I Know Its A Yeast Infection But Like I’m 12 And I’ve Had It As Long As I Can Remember I Used This Medicine U Put Up Ur Virginia And It Didn’t Get Rid Of It And I Don’t Want to Go To The Doctors I Just Want to Get Rid Of It With Medication And Pain Free! Someone Said Use Athitels Foot Cream But Like Ew! Would That Realy Work?? That’s Gross Though! And If It Does Work Then Were Am I Supposed To Put It?!?!?!

Answers
1)   Sounds like your baking bread and it sourdough. - bob s

2)   laugh @ virginia and all of the capital letters. - jet

3)   It is possible that you don't have a yeast infection, but another type of infection. There are testing kits if you don't want to go to the doctor, but you really should get checked out as this may be a sign of something else that you need treatment for.

Please don't put anything for athlete's foot in that area without talking to a doctor. I feel like that is a recipe for disaster. - jennypoo803

4)   It's probably normal discharge. Every woman gets it. It can range from clear/white to slightly yellowish. If you are not itching like crazy- (yeast infections itch like a 1,000 mosquito bites) or there isn't a foul odor then it's not a yeast infection!!
Every woman gets discharge which tends to be heavier before your period. If you havent started your period yet then this is probably a sign that it's coming soon.
Again, unless your extremely itchy/sore/smelly down there it's not a yeast infection- it's normal discharge which you will have all your life. - StephieK
