Hubby has badly cracked hands with tiny cuts...?

Question 1
Hubby has badly cracked hands with tiny cuts...?...  He works outside with dirt, concrete and water all day. His hands are extremely rough with small open cuts that open up from the dryness. It's very painful for him. He tries nightly to bandage them with a bunch of tiny bandages, but it hardly workd. Anybody have a treatment for this? He doesn't have medical insurance.

Answers
1)   Try having him lather up with a really lubricating product...like vasoline...and have him put on gloves at bed time, and actually sleep with them on. They have gloves designed for this at beauty supply stores. This will supermoisturize his hands over an extended period and hopefully help a little. - lunamiss

2)   My husband used to have this problem because of work. Moisturize with layers of lotion at night. you can even use the lotion and wear gloves at night to help the lotion to penetrate. - Spitfire

3)   neosporin and vitamin E cream helps with dry skin and the clearing up of scabs :D - KaTiE

5)   My mom was a mail woman for years and during the winter her hands would get like that. She used udder cream at night while she slept and wore socks on her hands over it. It feels kind of gross but it works WONDERS!
Also - if the open areas need protected try liquid band-aid. It kind of burns right at first but it keeps out the germs and lets them heal a bit quicker. - Lil Momma

Question 2
Did anyone experience this before? Please help!?...  Did anyone experience this before? Please Help!?
I am not feeling well. I have head-ache, soar-throat, swollow mouth, difficulty moving my jaw and tounge, and i have some pain in my joints, teet pain, and always feel tired. This all started 2 days ago. Someone told me it could be because of the Nasonex Nasal spray that I started to use 2 weeks ago, but I am not sure.

Anyone ever had this, or know what this could be? I will be going to a doctor by monday if i don't get better. But I am worried as they seem the same symptoms as Mouth/throat cancer

Answers
1)   Maybe you have strep-throat. - BusyOldBag

2)   Sounds like it could be an infection, go to the doctor. - Skylite

3)   It's Possible you have a sever Upper Respiratory Infection. See your Dr. for conformation - Tigger

4)   Nasonex is most likely NOT the source of these symptoms. Headache has been reported with its use, but it is not absorbed systemically so it is probably not causing these symptoms. You should definitely seek medical attention soon, especially if you develop difficulty swallowing or breathing. You could have any number of diseases and the doctor can do tests to figure out exactly what is wrong.

You do not have cancer if these symptoms have only been happening for 2 days. Cancer develops gradually over months to years. - Stephanie H

How can I get over it asap?

1)   You may be draining from your nose down your throat overnight (it is the start of allergy season in a lot of places). Be sure to take a really good allergy med before you go to sleep at night. Turn off any overhead fans, as they cause dryness too. A humidifier might help. Try other home remedies like gargling with warm salt water, warm tea with honey. Hopefully you'll feel a little better in the morning - lunamiss

2)   lots of tea and honey from the area you live in. - Spitfire

Vitamin C, like in apple juice or orange juice is great for you.
Get outside for a little sun!

Do you think I have swine flu?...  Well while I was in my magnet honors class one of my teachers said that a student in this classroom of her 4th period class ( I'm in 6th period ), has N1H1 virus. He has been dianosed positive and has been out a week. IDK if I'm just being paranoid cause right after that I have been getting sore and itchy throats, some ocassional head aches, and my biceps hurt a lot. Do you think I have swine flu??? Or could it just be me imagining things... I'm scared =(

2)   It could just be paranoia, or even a cold. Plenty of people are catching smaller bugs this season. I felt the same way after a few days of school. For me, it was just stress. I wouldn't worry unless you get a fever of at least 100 degrees fahrenheit. - cutiejaney

3)   Probably. 75% of flu is swine flu.
But don't worry only unhealthy people die from it. So unless you have aids or something you should be fine.. Few of my mates had it where better in a few weeks. - Micheal

Everything I found says it is usually found in otherwise healthy people and they don't know what causes it. - Sunny
