Question 2
Do I have head lice? I'm an adult, I woke up in the middle of the night with a really itchy head?...  I know, I know, it's disgusting but I'm going out of my mind with physical discomfort here and I can't think of what else it could be? My son is 3 and goes to nursery school. He slept in my bed tonight (as he's got a slight cold) and I've just woke up in the middle of the night in incredible discomfort. My scalp is itching like crazy and I can't sleep. It is 4:45am and I feel like my head is on fire! Could he have got nits at nursery school and passed them on to me? I can't see anything in my hair but I have waist length very thick hair. I had headlice myself when I was a child but I didn't have this incredible itching. It was many years ago when I was a small child myself. Could I have headlice? Would it cause this incredibly bad itching if I got it as an adult? I'm out of my mind with physical discomfort. If I've got headlice from my son can I get it sorted in a few hours (like by going to a chemist and seeing the pharmacist?) I need to go to work tomorrow? How could headlice cause you to have this intense itching that drives you out of bed (and onto YA) in the middle of the night! I had headlice when I was a small child myself but I know I was not in this much discomfort when I was a little kid and I had it (I had very long, thick waist length hair even when I was a little kid).

Is it possible for me to have caught headlice from my 3 year old son and to have become allergic to them in the last few years or is there any other thing that could cause me to wake up in the middle of the night with a scalp that is so itchy I'm going mad here?
edit: I'm almost being sick at the thought. I felt dirty enough when my cats got fleas let alone me having something disgusting living in my hair. I'm almost being sick at the very thought but I can hardly stop scratching my head for long enough to type! What could cause you to wake up in the middle of the night with your head being so itchy that you can't sleep other than that? What could it be? Is it possible to be that and for me to have developed an allergy to it in just a few hours hence the incredible itching? Or is headlice (if it is that) always so itchy and out-of-your-mind-itchy-on-your-head? Oh God what can I do till the chemist opens in the morning if it is that? My head will be bleeding with the scratches if I have to deal with this for another 4 hours without relief!

Answers
1)   i got head lice when my son was in day care, so i would say yes - mykwilwin

2)   if you haven't taken a shower in a day or so, or you had a busy day and showered at the beginning but not before bed (or if you did shower before bed and didn't rinse out all the shampoo and/or conditioner) check your head, go through strands of hair and if one has a bump on it, pull it out (it won't hurt and it's not like you're ripping all of your hear out...) and if the bump is a clear thing, it might be an egg and you do have lice...

either way, it's a smart thing to buy the special shampoo for it, even if you don't have it, it's good to have just in case. - Sara H

3)   First off if you had just the nix your head would not itch, So there would have to be live lice in your head - do you feel them moving?

With your hair so thick it could just be while you was sleeping you was sweating??? Go take a shower and see if it helps - Drunkin Monkey

Question 4
STIs, condoms, etc...?...  I'm having a little trouble finding a clear answer on this. If two people are healthy and have no types of STIs, STDs, HIV, or anything... is it possible for one or both partners to become infected with something like this from anal intercourse? This is a hypothetical question running on the assumption that both partners are healthy, have had no previous sexual history and are completely monogamous. In such a circumstance, is the use of condoms necessary? i.e. Would the condom offer any actual protection? How can a condom reduce the risk of getting a sexually transmitted infection if neither partner is infected to begin with?

Also, I just want to make it clear that I understand that it's best to always use a condom if you don't fully trust someone else 100% because you can never really know about their sexual past or if they're being honest. I'm just trying to make sure I understand how this works.

Thanks!

Answers
1)   If neither of the partners have any STDs then you cannot get an STD from any type of intercourse. You can only get STDs from a person who actually has an STD. Condoms always offer protection, but if there is nothing to protect against... see what I mean? If it is vaginal intercourse, I would recommend wearing a condom if for no other reason than to prevent pregnancy. - Santanna

2)   It is pivotal to eat effectively to keep fit. Acai berry is an amazing super food that keeps you fit and additionally has the bonus of helping you to lose a lot of weight. There is a free trial on currently at http://tapefr.innerfitness.info , try it, what have you got to lose? - Madyson

3)   No, an std wouldn't result from that particular situation, however condoms should be used to prevent pregnancy. Even if the girl is on the pill, it's never too safe to use extra precautions. Anal intercourse does require a lot of cleanliness, and it's not a good idea to have anal sex and then switch to vaginal sex without the male partner either washing his penis first or putting on a condom. A woman can get a vaginal infection from fecal bacteria getting into her vagina. Condoms are always good to use for hygienic reasons. - Ashnc89
