4)   my suggestion is that you could possibly have acid reflux.
does it happen when you eat certain foods? spices? fatty foods? dairy?

you should go to your doctor and get it checked out. if it goes untreated it MAY cause ulcers and erode your esophageal lining amongst many other problems. Your doctor can give you a prescription and even tell you what to not to eat to prevent it from happening again :)

hope this helps :P - Tochoa

5)   You need to go to the Doctor like immediately or tomorrow ASAP or call your local ER or acute care center they have doctors on call at this time. - Ryan

Question 2
is it water or oil under a burn?...  i recently burnt my thumb and i had a bump of liquid under the dead skin (i've had burns before so i didn't think anything of it) but i'm just wondering if the liquid that comes out is oil from your skin producing more oil to heal itself or if it's water and if it is water, how in the world did it get there?
richard, that's a good answer but it's clear and watery, not yellow or goldish and it isn't forming a crust... i know what you're talking about, and that's not it thanks though :) i enjoyed reading that ^^ you almost woulda gotten the best answer but i had to think about what i read lol

3)   That's a second degree burn which means that the blister is there for protection as the skin regenerates underneath.

Second degree burns are deeper, causing damage to the epidermis and partail damage to the dermis, including the blood vessels. They cause blisters, and are painful. The fluid inside a blister is called serum. It's a watery liquid that leaks from nearby tissues and blood vessels that have been destroyed. This blister filled with serum provides pillow-like protection for the skin beneath it. Second degree burns take several weeks to heal completely. Eventually the fluid inside the blister is absorbed by the body, and the dead blister skin will drop away, leaving new skin underneath.
From visitor Dan Pestana, we received futher information about serum:
"Serum is the liquid part of the blood, normally a golden yellow color, that is left when the blood cells are removed. It is comprised of water, as well as a very high content of various proteins. These include:
- albumin: a protein that aids in the proper retention of water in the bloodstream
- globulins: which are antibodies
- other useful proteins
Serum accumulates on burns, scrapes, or impetigo sores and as it dries, produces a characteristic honey-golden crust". - Richard C

Question 4
Hypoglycemia symptoms, but blood sugar is normal?...  OK, I know someone who has quite a few symptoms of hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), and it was even suggested by a doctor that he might have it, but he tested his blood sugar several times, and it was in the normal range. Is it possible that he could still have hypoglycemia, or could there be another cause for these symptoms which closely resemble hypoglycemia?

Answers
1)   "Hypoglycemia is less common in non-diabetic persons, but can occur at any age, from many causes. Among the causes are excessive insulin produced in the body, inborn errors of carbohydrate, fat, amino acid or organic acid metabolism, medications and poisons, alcohol, hormone deficiencies, certain tumors, prolonged starvation, and alterations of metabolism associated with infection or failures of various organ systems." quote

4)   Finger stick blood glucose levels are quite accurate. If it said his sugar was normal, then it was. Frankly, unless your friend takes insulin - it is quite unlikely that they are hypoglycemic. Whether there is something else responsible depends entirely on what specifically his symptoms were. Hypoglycemia can manifest in many different ways - sweating, anxiety, weakness, dizziness...there are about a million things that cause these symptoms so more specifics are necessary. - Eric P

Question 5
Can swapping navel piercing jewelry without sterilizing cause AIDS?...  Me and my friend traded bellybutton rings after 4 months of having it pierced. Hers is completely healed and mines still not as healed. We didn't sterilize the rings, but we didn't keep the rings in we just tried each others on. Another friend told me that this was a very stupid idea and can cause AIDS, it this true? and if it does, i dont understand how?

Answers
1)   well you won't get aids if your friend doesn't have aids... there are few ways aids transmits.. body fluids/blood being one of them if there piercing is healed it wouldn't be excreting any fluids so the answer would be no.. Some ways people do get aids are... unprotected sex... sharing needles.. mother to unborn child... mother to born child through breast milk.. other than that its pretty tough to get.. you cant even get it from saliva unless you drink about 25 gallons of it from someone that has aids...which in your case i don't think would happen... - tito
