Both of my parents liked to smoke. They are dead now, but not from smoking...Well, I have severe allergies?

Question 1
Both of my parents liked to smoke. They are dead now, but not from smoking...Well, I have severe allergies?...  controlled as best as they can by medication. But I took shots for years...Anyway every Winter I cough and cough in the evening..Now I do not have the flu or a cold...But it does BOTHER people. But, i cannot help it...I feel fine just tired of coughing...I know it is the weather, but what works for you. I have tried codeine and other stuff; nothing works. BY the way I am a NON SMOKER....

Answers
1)   Did you murder your parents for smoking? - timmy

2)   You might have a chronic lung problem or something simple like sinus drainage. I would go see an ENT doctor. Hes a specialist in the ears, nose, throat department and he may just be able to find the reason for the cough in the first place. You can't just treat the symptoms and get better. You have to find the cause first. Then get a treatment that works on that symptom. - 'Sunnyside Up'

3)   well I am pretty much allergic to nature in general, and I use Advair, Zyrtec, and Rhinocort. I also take Echinacea every day. Zyrtec is now over the counter, but I'm not sure about the other 2. Ask your doctor about them, they help me tremendously. Oh I also have asthma, that's why I take Advair.

4)   I have a humidifier going all winter. That may help .I also use furnace filters that block many of the things I am allergec to. Also make sure you drink lots of liquids and stay away from allergens. - Paje

5)   That used to bother my daughter too. When she would have soccer practice in the cold fall and winter nights, the cold dry air made her lungs like spasm and she coughed very hard for hours afterwards. She started swimming, and the warm water, misty and warm air helped. Maybe try a vaporizer in your room. - kim s

Question 5
where should the lump/bump be? is it always under the armpit?...  BREAST CANCER QUESTION.
Its been more than a week and half, and on my left breast a have notice a lump/bump next to my nipple but the bump is on the opposite side of my arm. Its bigger than a pea, the skin is red and it just stared to peal and when i touch it i feel a pain/hurts.
thats why im askin if when you have breast cancer the lump is always under the armpit?

Answers
1)   There is no "always" about where the lump could be.
You may not have cancer, it could be a cyst or a localized infection.

Go see your doctor. Whatever it is, it needs to be treated. And if it is cancer you need to know ASAP. - Rupert G

2)   breast cancer lumps can be anywhere. However, if this is a recent bump, near the nipple, that is red and painful, it is very likely a blocked duct.

Apply warm heat to the affected area using a heating pad or hot water bottle and being very careful not to damage your skin by using too much heat for too long a period of time.

If gentle heat treatment doesn't resolve the problem within two days, see your doctor. - MacJedi
