Will I die if I don't get the swine flu shot?

Question 1
Will I die if I don't get the swine flu shot?...

Answers
1)   Yes, you will - FlaChic

2)   No, unless you're an infant, elderly, or have some kind of immunity deficiency, swine flu shouldn't put your life in danger. It just might take 5 days out of your daily life to recover. If you don't want to risk getting the swine flu, get the shot and/or gargle with salt water/mouthwash and drink hot drinks. These help kill the virus if it's in your throat, even if it hasn't infected you yet.

Good luck being swine free. :D - mokiko13

3)   wow flachic is crazy. no you won't and i did not get the shot. the government got involved with this and believe me i could go on and on about this virus. but to keep it short you'll be fine and don't waste your hard earned money on that shot. have a great day! - john

4)   I did not get the shot: I know one lady who got the shot: she was paralized the day after. - Aria

5)   no you wont unless you get it if you think you have swine flue get straight to a doctor i wouldnt take the chance too many people have died with this flu is it a terroist attack i wounder no one know where it came from but id get it sorted go to the quack - twiny amy

Question 2
can a 14 year old diabetic take pills instead of shots?...  i am 14 years old and august of last year i got put in the hospital and i have to take a shot every night i dont feel as free what do i do????

help

Answers
1)   Diabetes come from mild to severe. If you take little needle shots then you would be in the mild range but pills are for the ones who are a little less mild. So basically pills won't be as effective to your diabetes. - Ashley Rated ®

2)   Pills are for people with diabetes who have a mild case and can be controlled with pills and diet. If you have injections then you would not qualify for pills. Just work with your condition and accept it. You probably need to see a pediatric diabetic educator. - FlaChic

3)   If your doctor has gave you shots, then there is a reason why. Shots are more expensive than pills for the government, and it's unlikely he is giving you them for the sake of it.

Speak with your doctor, see what he says. It's unlikely though.

To be honest I'd much rather have the injections. There a lot simpler than swallowing tablets. - paddingzero

4)   Ask ur doctor if u can take pills or still have to take shots. I am not sure if u can take pills bc everyone i know takes shots. - Aleksandra

Question 3
Will my sons tumor come back? please answer?...  Hi, my son is 10 and was diagnosed with a high grade aggressive tumour and rare as his tumour usually comes when your over 50, its called gbm, in september 2009, anyway they removed his large tumour in his mid brain and surgery went well, recovered very well, he started radiotherapy and chemo (temador) 5 weeks latter, in that time the tumour grew back doctors told me this will kill him and that the radiotherapy will probably not work, i was devastated but believed he could still get threw this, i wanted to prove the hospital wrong, he has had his 6 weeks of radiotherapy and had a scan 3 weeks after, scan showed the tumour was barely visible, it was just highlighted, i was so happy treatment was working, next scan 6 weeks after showed tumour completely gone, now he stays on the chemo for a year, i know tumours come back because of a cell that is left behind, but if my son is on chemo for a year will this be a long enough time to kill any cells? iv been giving him green tea...flor essence and vitamins i pray every day, doctors are amazed that the treatment has worked, but he always says there is a high chance of it coming back... i hope this wont happen he is my only son, and with out him i have nothing.. thanks for ready people..

2)   u should check up regularly at the doctors so if it comes back youll kno and theyll take it out no worrys - Stephy

3)   No one can predict the answer to this question. Not you, the doctors, your son or us. There are no guarantees in life for anything. Love your son and live your life and hope for the best. - Bozema

4)   Well, as FlaChic had highlighted, we are not experts, but I will try to answer your question. Just keep in mind I may very well be wrong.

Maybe54 years ago, my grandparent discovered she had breast cancer. She was treated with chemotherapy, and it was "fully" cured. 2 years later she was diagnosed with liver cancer, and maybe a year after that she was treated for brain cancer. Fortunately, we were unbelievably lucky, and after 3 years of chemotherapy, she seams to be "cancer free" at the moment, but as her doctor said, it will almost certainly come back.

The problem is that cancer isn't like most diseases that are cured and then you're done with them. Cancer never really ever leaves your body. You can treat it when it flares up, but it's impossible right now to actually cure.

I can't say for sure what will happen to your son, but I wouldn't be surprised if his tumor does come back. It's not certain, and I may be wrong, but I doubt it's impossible.

Just keep praying for him. God saved my grandparent from cancer 3 times even when her doctors said it's not going to get better, and God will save your son again. I'll be praying for you. - K
