Hospital ERROR almost caused him his life.. can we do anything?

Question 1
Hospital ERROR almost caused him his life.. can we do anything?...  My grandfather (and before u say that he is old and he will die anyway..everybody dies and everybody deserves a chance in life no matter what) was put in a feeding tube through his stomach because he had high fever and he wasn't eating very well. 2 weeks went by and one morning he aspirated and he got pneumonia that sent him to ICU for a month. he laid in ICU bed unconscious, unable to talk, move, or breath on his own. He was practically dead... long story short he woke up on christmas day and he was removed from ventialtor a few days later and now he is a regular room almost back to normal. All the time while he was in the ICU the doctors kept persuading us to disconnect him and sent him to heaven with morphine. CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT?

Now we know the truth, the nurses who worked the shift the day he aspirated noticed that his stomach was full of food. They knew that he wasn't processing the food and his stomach was getting bloated... THEY DIDN'T DO ANYTHING. That morning when they changed his diapers (he was laying flat) he vomited and aspirated.

GUILTY OR NOT GUILTY?
When they realized that his stomach was getting full and not processing they kept giving him food..
WE DON'T WANT ANY ANY MONEY... we want those irresponsible nurses FIRED!!!! or something

1)   I've heard many cases like this, i don't think there is much you can do, but i would talk to the manager(Or who ever is in charge) and ask about it. If they don't help you, i think you could sue.

Hope justice wins~ - AlissaJ

2)   Guilty '& irresponsible - Tiyana

3)   that's awful! i'm so sorry to hear it.

i suppose it's worth looking into, but the likelihood that it would get you any compensation is not good. - jaime rae

4)   This happened to my father when he was in the hospital at WKU in Lexington, KY. Because he had so many other problems and was transferred from another hospital, it was hard to prosecute and the attorney wouldn't take the case. Did you write down the nurses names who were present and when they were present? Does it mention in his records that he was not digesting his food? You need to have a good record of who was in and out of his room, who his doctor was and who was present when he aspirated. And anything else you can think of (procedures that were performed on him, etc). Then, contact an attorney who deals with hospital negligence. Your local Bar Association should be able to provide you with names of attorneys in your area who may be able to help. They will want a copy of your grandfather's medical records (He will have to request these due to HIPPA laws). Don't send them the originals!! I believe he is entitled to one free copy made by the hospital. I would also take his originals, too, just to be safe. I'd also double check with other departments in the hospital where he was treated to see if they have anything that goes in his records. They should all be together, but you never know. So many people choose not to pursue negligence in hospitals, which makes it harder for those who do choose to fight. I wish you the best. - reedera4

Or is this something I should go ASAP about?

2)   Who diagnosed you with a Staph infection????

I don't think you know what you have. Try to get in to see your doctor tomorrow. Save the ER for true emergencies, please. - TweetyBird

3)   There's no way you can know you have a staph infection unless it gets swabbed and sent to a lab. Wait out the storm. Treat your abscess with compresses and don't pop it. - jaime rae

Question 3
how do you get high off mucinex DM? Do you have to crush it or brake it or do u just pop them?...  my friend told me you can get high from this stuff and im not sure if your supose to brake them or just take a bunch. Also what kind of high does it give you? Do you see things on it?

Answers
1)   I'm taking one right now and feel pretty normal...you're only supposed to take them every 12 hours so imma guess just take a whole bunch of them...hope you have insurance because as a result you're most likely gonna be in the hospital getting ur stomach pumped.

In other words, please don't try to get high off of mucinex pills lol. I mean seriously... - sandygyrl13

2)   I strongly suggest against this because there is a chemical in it that makes you very sick if you take alot. It starts with a G. It's a disorient and you don't see much. It's more of a drunk feeling unless you take alot. It is said to give hallucinogenic effects. Some pills also have fillers in them which are bad for your nose if you snort. But you can still eat them :) - Dick Dasterdly

3)   Look at the listing of what the active ingredients are. If you see Acetaminophen, taking enough of the drug to hallucinate will instead result in you puking your guts out and not getting high.

If you don't see Acetaminophen, it's relatively "safe" to take as a hallucinogen, though it's extremely hard on your liver. But yes, if there is no Acetaminophen, you just take a shitload of it.

DXM is a dissociative hallucinogenic though, so you can expect to essentially pass out and have the equivalent to an insanely trippy dream. - Do Not Lloyder

Question 4
recently started getting acne on my upper back?...  i never had a problem with it before and im thinking it might be because my hair has gotten really long. is that a common thing? and what can i do about it? i thought it might be because of my detergent but its on the part of my back that a lot of shirts dont cover (maybe my skin isnt covered from oil from my hair there?) its not severe or anything, just little bumps basically but i hate them.
i wash my hair daily
hmm maybe its because i started using leave in conditioner? ughh

Answers
1)   Don't worry.
I had that a few weeks ago. My hairs getting longer too. It is probably because the conditioner you use in your hair once rinsed out may stay on your body. Just make sure to wash there well, and make sure it is well-rinsed. You should be just fine! - Ashley

2)   just make sure you wash your back. it goes away. - Kaylan

2)   Colon cleansing is the new method to reduce weight. Boffins have illustrated the fact that not all extra weight is thanks to excess fat, a great deal of weight basically sits there in the insides, and all you have to do is flush it out. http://fupars.hourdiet.info has a risk free trial on right now, give it a go, you could reduce as much as 20 lbs! - Joy
