If it is bright or a natural looking red, then it is highly likely you have haemorrhoids or piles. 3)   I don't think I'll be getting the swine flu shot, to much controversy about it so, that's my feeling. You can help to prevent the swine flu. It gets into the body two ways, through the nasal passages and the throat. So, rinse your mouth out with half water and half hydrogen peroxide. It will slough the germ into the stomach where they will be destroyed by the stomach acids. Then blow your nose real good to clean it and swab with the same peroxide, the same thing happens here. You will be putting up a good defensive field. Do this twice a day.

22 year old female need answers to lung problems?...  I am a 22 year old female and I have been smoking cigrettes since i was 15 or so.I smoke about half a pack a day.A month or so ago I started having excessive coughing and I thought I just had the cold.It has persisted since and I also find myself short of breathe after barely doing anything.I dont know if smoking has caused this or if it is some outside influence.Any information would help. athsma, phenomia enphizma, swine flu????

The irritation of inhaling smoke is making the millions of little air tubes inside your lungs inflamed, or swollen. The same way your eyes go red and watery if you get smoke in them. This makes you short of breath and makes you cough.

Smoking makes the mucous producing cells inside your lungs go into overdrive, this produces extra secretions (leading to more coughing/shortness of breath). Over years and years, these rapidly multiplying mucous producing cells can go haywire and grow into a tumor or lung cancer. Over years, the inflammation of your airways will lead to irreversible scarring and loss of elasticity. This gives you Emphysema which is a severe late stage of COPD.

2)   Given your age and seven-year smoking history, my first guess would be onset of chronic bronchitis. It could potentially be pneumonia as well. Either way, you need to go to the doctor for testing. These are both conditions that require professional treatment.

Regarding your other suspects: asthma is possible but not as likely as the others if you do not have a childhood history of it, even taking into account your smoking. Emphysema is also possible, but only very slightly. At your age, you would have had to be living an Amy Winehouse lifestyle to be emphysemic. It is highly unlikely to be swine flu if the cough has persisted for a month - plus you are not presenting with typical flu symptoms. I loved cigarettes--could almost eat them.I laid them down and haven't looked back..But, it took lung cancer for me to quit.Had I know what they do to you, I would have quit.That oxygen makes me think of all this everyday.I am remission with my Lung cancer but it will be back, there is no cure for it at this time. - "Hooks"

I surmise, it's get busy livin' or you wouldn't be concerned so here's my x-smoker advice, because it works in either case. You need professional advice from you doctor or clinic to determine what road your on so that you CAN get busy livin' or dyin'. I' m also going to take a stab and say that since this appeared quickly you are probably in a good position to recover as a sudden onslaught is more likely a 'wake-up' than the sign of a long denied malady. There is a multitude of treatment options to kick the smokes (yah, I still get an urge after 20 years) that come at little or no cost with many of them state sponsored. I'll also say this, if you ignore your health it will go away and I can say with much certainty that cigarettes will do a number on you sooner or later. Think about it realistically, when's the last time you really enjoyed the taste of something you ate. You can do it and if you stop now you could be feeling a lot better in as little as 3 days. It wont be easy but will be a value...so much that I'd suggest that if you make that commitment then calculate what you spend a year (my math say's about $1000) then go buy yourself a reward for $500 like maybe a vacation or an outfit. You're doing it for yourself so be sure to act that way.
