what common food should my father eat so that his blood pressure would get low?

Question 1
what common food should my father eat so that his blood pressure would get low?...  i'm the one who's concern 'cause i'm afraid he'll get stroke..

Answers
1)   Consuming the correct food is important for your health. You can try supplementing your diet with acai berry, it's not solely a widely tested and acknowledged weight loss produce, it's a superfood too. There is a risk free trial available at http://garint.humandiet.info I have been taking it for two weeks now and it is definitely having an effect!! - Damarion

2)   Have him try reducing sodium intake, eating more fresh fruits and veggies, whole grains, nuts, lean proteins, fish, and foods rich in magnesium, potassium, and calcium. Use olive oil or canola oil when cooking.

Avoid, processed junk, foods high in fat, sugary soda, and cut back on sodium intake. He'll really need to read labels for sodium content.

Exercise is also a great idea. - nerdorama

3)   Oatmeal - Obamavenger

4)   Fish oil capsules,I take them.I take one a day plus a blood pressure pill. The pill alone did not bring it down to what the Dr. wanted but with the fish oil it did. - bearbeast

5)   I have high blood pressure myself. Stroke is not the only thing to worry about with high blood pressure, there are other issues as well; heart, kidneys, etc.

It's very important to avoid salt. Don't have a salt shaker at the table. Don't add salt in cooking. Don't purchase or eat foods that are packaged, pre-prepared, processed, cured, canned, pickled, or frozen. They are all VERY high in sodium, too high for someone with high blood pressure.

There are also seasoning blends that contain salt as well that he will have to avoid and condiments should be limited to small amounts (ketchup, mustard, etc.).

Your father needs to eat fresh food, prepared at home, without salt. He will have to learn to use seasonings without salt like Mrs. Dash, curry powder, etc. for flavour. Your father should also make sure he drinks plenty of water, at least 2 litres per day or more.

Caffeine also raises blood pressure so if he's a coffee drinker he needs to cut back. I'm down to about 1/2 a cup a day though that's a little extreme. 1 cup or maybe 2 on occasion is plenty. He should stop drinking any sodas/pops with caffeine such as Coke, Pepsi, etc.

Controlling blood pressure with medication alone is not enough. He must also cut way back on salt, eat a healthy diet, and get adequate exercise. A brisk walk every evening would do him a world of good. - Kathleen

Question 2
What kind of doctor cures lung cancer?...  i dont smoke by the way

Answers
1)   an oncologist specializes in cancer - RudieCantFail

2)   a lungdoc - Alecs

3)   Until there is no confirmation....
A pulmonologist, or pulmonary disease specialist, is a physician who possesses specialized knowledge and skill in the diagnosis and treatment of pulmonary (lung) conditions and diseases.

once, diagnosed through biopsy and other diagnostic procedures... Your doctor will give recommendations...
And will probably collaborate with an oncologist.. - mimi

4)   There is, as far as I know, no "cure" for Lung Cancer. As far as treatment, Oncologists specialize in the treatment of all types of cancers. Usually they will work together with your primary care physician and a specialist on that particular part of the body. For instance for Cervical Cancer you would probably have an Oncologist, ObGyn, and your PCP working together to formulate a plan. You will usually have a Radiologist as well, depending on whether or not you are receiving radiation therapy as well as chemotherapy. - ESVRW2

Question 3
Chicken Pox 10pts!!!!!!!!?...  Ok im 15 and just got chicken pox for the first time and since im in highschool i cant miss but 8 days a semester and im up to six. Ive had it for about 5 days now and was wondering if anyone knows anything that i could do to try to not have them gone within 4 days so i wont go over on my days at school. I know there isnt much you can do but i was wondering if anyone knows any home remedys or something they have discovered. Because i Really have to be back in school on the 19th. my case isnt bad at all because i havent scrached yet over the couse of 4 days and so it is well contained.

Answers
1)   Take a oatmeal bath - Better than Lita!!!

2)   Well if the doctor says your still contagious, you have to stay home. Then have your mom or dad get a note from the doctor, saying you were contagious with chicken pox, and under his/her order did not return to school. The school cannot make you loose credits if you were sick and under doctor care, unless you miss more than half the semester. - Kiwi is my bird-o

3)   Once your blisters are scabbed over you are not contageous anymore and you should be able to go back to school. - Mom of 3 boys

4)   Well most people at your age have already had the chicken pox, so going to school shouldn't have much of an effect on anyone else considering chickens pox you can only get once.
If there is some people in your school that haven't had them yet and could have a chance of getting them, then you should go to school, the problem with chicken pox is when you get them when your older it has worse of an effect and some people have ended up in the hospital.
Go to school anyway, there shouldn't be a problem with it. - Chase

Question 4
Red itchy bumps on skin?...  Ok well this has been messing with me for a few weeks now. Now I want answers. My boyfriend and I have been getting this weird rash or itchy bumps on our skin. Mine is around my belly button, and his seem to be all over his arms and around his belly button as well. They are really small red in color, there seems to be alot of them and very itchy, We have not changed detergents, or change our diets, could it be just the change in seasons? (I live in Maine) Please help. Honest answers only.
We have cats, they have no fleas, they are indoor cats, I have had the chicken pox so has he.

Answers
1)   Could be an allergic reaction to something else, or maybe bed bugs. If you have pets it could also be flea bites. - Elley

2)   chikaaarn poks! - Bokki

3)   For both of you to get it seems a bit odd. Chances of you both having an allergic reaction is unlikely (unless you were both rolling around in the poison ivy).
It may be from bedbugs. Strip your bed, wash the sheets in hot water and put in the dryer.
If you think it might be poison ivy I would recommend: http://www.trysomethingobvious.com/product-p/dv8852w.htm

Good luck. - Owen

4)   It is odd you both have them. So it is some type of 'bug' or allergen in your home.

I suggest stripping your bed, and towels, wash cloth and soaking them in warm water in the wash.
Steam your mattress (if you don't have a steamer a hot iron with steam will suffice) flip the mattress. Do the same on each side.

My dad has an indoor cat but a neighbor has a dog with fleas and his cat has fleas. Go figure. So don't rule that out in your cats.
It wouldn't hurt to treat them -

Otherwise take an oral benadryl, oatmeal soaks and cortisone cream for them. Call an MD if they aren't better to get a true diagnosis. - kelly e
