Does my little sister have the swine flu or just regular flu?

Question 1
Does my little sister have the swine flu or just regular flu?...  Here are her symptoms:
-She is throwing up, not too severely though.
-She does not have diarrhea.
-She has a fever that sometimes drops and sometimes gains pretty quickly.
-She is coughing, not that harshly (not a dry cough).
-She doesn't have any underlying medical conditions.
-She's barely having difficulty breathing.
-She isn't irritable.

We just moved recently and don't have a doctor here yet, so we can't go to one to get her checked, and my parents think she just has the regular flu but i don't know.
We are giving her an antibiotic, along with robitussin and tylenol.

Will it just go away on it's own? Is it the swine flu?

By the way, she's 12.

Answers
1)   she may have swine flu take her to a doctor - Hindy

2)   No I don't think so,,, she must be shivering and her Temperature must be high for 3 days without changing inorder to be swine flu... - SKY

3)   I would consult a doctor and see what he/she has to say, or just take her there so they can get accurate results. - Z

4)   Swine flu symptoms are similar to symptoms of other flu viruses. These include fever, cough, headaches, chills, body aches, a sore throat and fatigue. Vomiting and diarrhea have also been reported with this virus. It is important to remember that other conditions can cause these same symptoms. To determine for sure if you have swine flu versus another strain of flu or other condition, you will need to go to your doctor for a lab test. It is important to remember that flu is not a rare illness. According to estimates from the Centers for Disease Control, 5 to 20 percent of the U.S. population suffers from a case of the flu each year.

Flu is similar to a cold virus in that it is typically spread from one person to another when an infected person coughs or sneezes. The virus can pass through an infected person's lungs, throat or nose, sending particles into the air that can pass to anyone that person comes in close contact with. Being out in a crowd increases your chances of being infected.

The other main way the virus spreads is from touching surfaces that are contaminated with the virus and then touching your eyes, mouth or nose. An individual infected with the virus can start transmitting it up to a day before the symptoms start, and up to a week after the symptoms become noticeable, according to the Centers for Disease Control. It is believed the new swine flu spreads in the same way as other types of flu.

Also, I've noticed that I only break out when I don't get enough sleep. Usually after a string of 8-10 days of getting 5-7 hours of sleep. And drink water! It helps.

2)   well tbh i dont know what happens i left one alone for a couple days and it started hurting and got bigger so i poped it... only real bad thing about poping whiteheads for me are that they become rather ugly for a couple days... you might not be willing to have a blemish like that i dont know

BUT make sure if you end up popping it make sure that you get everything out and keep it clean or else it might come back and hurt/be bigger than the last time - josh

3)   Eventually they will heal. If you pop them (properly) they usually heal faster than if you let them be. Sometimes they pop on their own. - Amanda

4)   They are so different to blackheads. You need a sterilized needle, hold it over a flame for a few seconds. Pierce the whitehead and squeeze. That's it!! It might bleed a little but then it's gone.If you leave it........it will get bigger. - julie w

5)   Don't pop..! because it leaves you with marks and scars ..

Question 5
I need help with acne?...  Alright, on a scale of 1-10 with acne I have like a 7.. it's just alot of little bumps and a good bit of pimples, not a TON but a good amount... i need some help getting rid of it, my self confidence is in the crapper cause of this, I'm scared to look one direction cause I dont want alot of people to see it....is there any home remedy that works REALLY well? thanks alot :)

Answers
1)   I did some research and talked to my doctor to find the most common causes of acne.

• Hormones: The number one cause of acne is the production of sex hormones, known as androgen, that begins at puberty. This is why majority of acne sufferers are adolescents and teens. Hormones are responsible for then acne flare-ups during menstruation and pregnancy.

• When the sebaceous gland is stimulated by androgens, it produces extra sebum. In its journey up the follicle toward the surface, the sebum mixes with common skin bacteria and dead skin cells that have been shed from the lining of the follicle. While this process is normal, the presence of extra sebum in the follicle increases the chances of clogging — and acne.

• Stress: can also cause the production of hormones, such as cortisol, which can aggravate acne. Stress brings upon different hormone levels. With hormone changes the body prompts the skins oil glands to enlarge, secreting more oil. Which causes white heads, black heads and pimples.

• Oily or heavy make up: Heavy make-up clogs the pores and oily make-ups add more oil, which only adds to the problem if oily skin already exists. Cosmetics, especially certain moisturizers, foundations and pomades contain lanolin, petrolatum, vegetable oils, butyl stearate, lauryl alcohol and oleic acid.

• Certain medications and steroids: Vitamins are good for your body, But an excess of vitamins B1, B6 and B12 can cause acne flare-ups. These vitamins are good for the skin, but avoid overuse.

• Diets: For some people, a diet that is high in refined carbohydrates and sugars can actually aggravate their acne.

• Over abrasive cleansing: Harsh exfoliators can damage skin and spread infections.

• Picking and squeezing: This can actually send the infection deeper into the skin and can cause scarring.

• Environmental irritants: such as high humidity and pollution. High humidity actually causes swelling of skin. Pollution is of course is a big cause for clogging your pores.

• Genes: Family members who are also acne sufferers. Acne is inherited and severe cases known as cystic acne usually come from heredity.

And..,

What the skin needs is a product that clears pores and kills bacteria, thus preventing hair follicles from clogging and turning into acne. This is what you should be looking for if you want to get rid of those ugly acne.
