I have a bump on my penis..do I have herpes?

Question 1
I have a bump on my penis..do I have herpes?...  enough said..

Answers
1)   Not necessarily. However, genital warts= disease, not herpes. There are other std's like HPV that give you bumps. If in doubt, consult a doctor. - kup

2)   I'd ask a doctor. but from what i can tell, you my friend, have genital warts - Roland

3)   Do you think you have herpes? Did you have sex with someone that has the disease and didn't use protection? Do you have any other symptoms such as muscle aches, fever, lower back pain, headaches?
If not, it may just be your diet. My boyfriend drinks a lot of sodas and he had a huge bump down there but when he got it checked, the doctor told him to drink more water and less soda. His bump has gone away.
Don't freak out, use protection, and if you have other symptoms, get checked now.
P.S.- never hurts to drink more water either. - T P

4)   Sounds like HPV, warts, very contagious and you need to see a doctor and please please do not spread this to a woman. Thanks - April H

5)   YOU'S ONE NASTY MOTHAFUCKAA OF A MANSLUT!!!!!!!!!!!
hahahahhahahaAHHAHAHAAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!!!!

love you nickkk. :D
but everyone else will think that's weird so...
yeahhh.
and for the record,
I DON'T KNOW YOU.
or do i...? - Sarah

6)   It could be herpes or something else. Definitely get it checked out... - Lydia

Question 2
If you suspect that a person may have aids you had sex with, how soon will they be able to get tested for it?...  The sexual encounter took place a couple of weeks ago...

Answers
1)   immediately - Forlorn Hope

2)   I think its 3-6 months after infection you can get tested and tell.. so get tested in 3.. then go back in 6 to make sure.. and then a year after again... and dont sleep with them again. - DaNiElle

3)   They say 30 days! - kittykat

4)   GET TO THE HOSPITAL NOW!
You let them know you suspect you had sex with someone who has it and they can get you medication to prevent it from progressing.
Once you are tested posotive for it, You won't ever get rid of it.
You can prevent it in the really early stages but you need to get it sorted like NOW!
Best of luck - Courtney

5)   eh about 25 days average... or you could get an RNA test which detects the virus directly which can be done 9-11 days after exposure. - Scotty Mitchell

6)   Your question is a bit vague---- are you HIV positive, and you want the other person to get checked? Or did you just have sex, and are worried in a general sort of way?

If you are worried in a general sort of way, then you can tested soo, but the results are very 'solid' until 6 months.

If you are positive, and are worried you exposed the other person, you have to tell them ASAP b/c there are drugs they can start on immediately that help. - Smiley Sue

Question 3
How to remove a wart?...  for the past 3months i've been going back to my doctor once a week just for him to freeze my wart, and it seems to have no effect at all it's staying the same size i have told him time after time i want it cut off and he said it'll most likely do damage to my nail bed cause it's so close and i keep telling him i don't care as long as it's gone. But now i'm at the point where i've stopped going and every doctor i do go to do the same thing just freeze it and it does nothing none of them will cut it off. So was wondering if people have any ways i can try at home to try to remove it please

Answers
1)   Cut it off- Just do it. - AL

2)   just go to a pharmacy and get one of those over the counter wart remover kits. I used one last year to remove a wart from my sons knee and it worked great after one application. - tracy_h81

3)   Don't do things at home that you will regret. Your decision to do something without a doctors advice and skill, could end up with permant damage or infection.

I hear your frustration. - iplaymusicforu

4)   I know this sounds odd and random, but try putting duct tape on it. Keep duct tape on your wart constantly. Change the tape every day. It just may work. It's a new study doctor's are doing. I just learned about it in school. Good luck (: - Danielle

5)   i had a wart and rubbed starch on it so thats the inside of a raw potatoe and it slowly gets smaller and smaller .. hope that helps and i no how much of a pain they are !!!! - Abzstar2009

6)   Don't pick on me put if you put a little piece of a banana peel on it like the size of the wart and put a band aid to keep it on and switch it everyday it will make it go away and also warts go away on there own sometimes - Sam

Answers
1)   may be - Mlunat

2)   The only way to KNOW is to have a doctor test you.

The symptoms of 2009 H1N1 flu virus in people include fever, cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, body aches, headache, chills and fatigue. Some people may have vomiting and diarrhea. People may be infected with the flu, including 2009 H1N1 and have respiratory symptoms without a fever. Severe illnesses and deaths have occurred as a result of illness associated with this virus. - jrabkin1

3)   Could have been just a very bad cold. Swine flu symptoms are very similar if not about the same as an average flu. The only other things that could determine if you had swine flu or not is, if you had diarrhea, if you had vomiting and like you mentioned aching.
Did you speak to your gp about it? I had swine flu not long ago and was on Tamiflu tablets. You could have had it but you usually will feel the difference between a normal cold and a swine flu. I cant explain but it feels a lot different. - LaLaLand

4)   hannah, i hate to say it but i can hear from you everythin that shows swine, i gotta tell ya dont be scared , its not that dangerous, just like normal flu, just visit a doctor , nd get sum news, hope they be good.....

luv - keidoupe

Check this link out for yourself. The news has been saying that it affects older people and children most but you never can be too careful.
I read somewhere- can't find the article- that the cough from swine flu is very dry as opposed to a typical flu cough.
Hope that helps.
Sounds like you may just have the flu but if its been more then 5 days (they say 7) and you are not better, goto the doctors or better yet the ER. - T P

2)   Go to the doctor. - jsuisbelle

3)   Why the hell are you asking us? This isn't tai-wan, go see a doctor - Roland
