7)   the kid should be isolated, either at home or in a hospital. Your coworker really should not be in contact with anyone either, isolate herself for everyone else's benefit.
Yes it is possible that you may also contract virus if you've spent a lot of time with her in a closed space with bad air circulation.
Make sure you go to the hospital immediately if you feel there's a fever.
In the mean time avoid going anywhere in the public if at all possible. Avoid as much human contact as you can. Heck, if you can take a vacation and just sit at home for a week, do that! Symptoms of flu doesn't appear until a few days later, that's why flu virus is so scary. That you could be walking around and spreading it and not knowing about it.

Question 2
Had a sore throat for almost 2 weeks?...  Okay, so I've had a sore throat for about 12 days now, and I'm not sure whats wrong with me. It started off not hurting that much, but it got progressively worse, and I started to develop cold symptoms (no fever though). After about a week, my cold symptoms went away, but my sore throat was still there. It started to get a little better, but then about 3 days ago, I started to get really bad nose bleeds about once a day. Yesterday, my throat felt worse than it had felt the entire time, and I went to the doctor to get tested for strep throat, but it came back negative. The doctor says it looks viral, and my neck isn't swollen or anything, so they don't think it's mono. My throat hurts so bad that I can't eat anything thicker than rice, and it is difficult to talk or swallow.

Thank you for your help.

1)   Eating the desired food is crucial for your health. You can try supplementing your diet with acai berry, it is not solely a widely tested and acknowledged weight loss produce, it is a superfood too. There is a risk free trial on offer at http://dasert.yourfatfree.info I have been taking it for 3 weeks now and it's certainly having an effect!! - James

2)   Sounds like tonsillitis - but the doctor would have spotted that looking down your throat.

If you haven't got a fever and your glands aren't swollen, then it's unlikely that you're fighting off anything sinister. It's probably just a nasty virus that's taking it's time in dying. - DM

3)   Maybe you should go back to the doctor. A sore throat for any longer than a week is something a medical professional should deal with. - ♥Instantkarma♥♫

4)   did he not tell u that u could use your tonsils out?when my friends throat kept doing that for yrs, they finally took her tonsils out,all is well now.also, did he check u for mono,no offense, but u can get it other ways than kissing-call ur doc again, keep bugging him, thats wat hes there for,to help u.also did he give u any meds? try to suck on some halls and call ur doc again, explain ur pain and be firm-doctors these days just dont care to listen mono doesnt always swell the neck.is ur arm pits sore - ?

5)   I'd suggest taking antibiotics. Sounds to me like if you did have something (viral/bacterial), it got worse, started to heal, yet is still there. That's more than likely a virus/bacterium when it just doesn't want to go away, the tricky part of this is that you haven't had any fevers. (fevers = infection) I would still suggest asking your doctor about taking antibiotics nonetheless. - hamjammy

4)   India and China. Of course, the method of gathering these 'donated' organs is morally reprehensible. If you are an American, I would stay right here in the US and wait for a donor. As far as medical science is concerned, the US is years and years ahead of most other nations. Good Luck. - ?

Question 5
If I get the flu shot myself and I breastfeed, does my baby need a shot as well?...  My daughter will be 6 months old next week and is eligible for the flu shot and swine flu shot but I am unsure if she really needs it since I exclusively breastfeed right now. I've searched but can't find the answer.

Doesn't breast milk provide all the antibodies she needs from the shot I got?

Please post your info links if possible.

Thanks :)

Answers
1)   I've never thought about that. It's actually advisable. - Dave

2)   I don't think so.

I believe that the whole antibodies benefit fades away after the first few weeks. if my memory is correct its the colostrum that really has the benefits of passing along the antibodies and that is the first few days only. - monicalei

3)   nothing is really safe to put in your body while breastfeeding, so I'm surprised they would let you get this shot. It is too new, and a lot of people do not trust it all the way yet. - my2cents
